BAR would also like to infiltrate McLaren, to take whichever is the best part on their car

You are unable to breach McLaren.

We are open to negotiation in terms of prices.

Minardi offers to pay a $50 000 opening fee for the first level of each driver aid, and $12 500 per level after that.

Sounds reasonable to me. It's a deal :D

Ok, since I can't physically take away or add such small figures in game, I have a separate spreadsheet for this stuff. Hence next time I print teams budget I will have these deals in brackets.

eg. Williams 17.253 Million (+50K)

The next issue is how to transfer your parts across, I think the best way to do this is to remove security from all teams and instead ban/limit stealing. This will allow for much more flexible co-operation. Thoughts?

I don't see why not. First thing you should do is probably think about hiring a test driver.

I know Alex Yoong and Tarso Marques and Enrique Bernoldi are all pay driver free agents. I think there are some normal free agents still left too, but I can't remember who they are.

Well for a start, Coulthard, Villeneuve, Christiano da Matta and Ralph Firman are unattached.
Accomplished testers such as Allan Mcnish and Luciano Burti are also there. We have a stack of Cart drivers and all of the first generation of red bull drivers.

actually my mistake, all the drivers that actually were in the 2003 season somehow are contracted to "nothing" for the remainder of the season, to sign Coulthard you must wait until 2004.

Well to avoid overcomplication, for now the tyres you use are the ones that the teams begin with by default.

As for the next race, this shall be soon. You may want to read up on sponsors and driver aids, its all in this thread.

I think I might get rid of the security companies and instead have a trading system. This way teams will want to get better parts, but will have to play it tactically so as to not give rivals too much of an advantage also.

Oi! I was quite liking taking out my frustrations on the unfortunate BAR team. And Williams are still waiting for the levels of all their parts to decide their next development project.

Well, I had decided not to tell you guys your parts, and have you use investigations to figure out how strong your parts are. However, that being said, I will reveal the areas of strength for each car.

Williams:
Engine Power Rank A
The engine runs too hot, new side pods needed! EMS and Engine power could be improved.
Engine Acceleration Rank B
This can be improved by EMS
Aerodynamics Rank D
Front Wing, sidepods and vanes are poor.
Chassis Internals Rank C
Brakes and Suspension could be improved

Ferrari
Engine Power Rank A+
Best at the moment, though Transmission and EMS can be improved.
Engine Acceleration Rank A
Get Semi Automatic Gears!
Aerodynamics Rank C
Rear Wing, Sidepods and Vanes are bad
Chassis Internals A+
Best Chassis.

McLaren
Engine Power Rank A
Engine Runs hot, develope Airbox. Transmission and EMS to be improved
Engine Acceleration A
Semi Auto gears and EMS needed
Aerodynamics D
Rearwing sidepod and vanes to be improved!
Internals C+
Brakes and steering among the worst.

Renault
Engine Power A
Transmission needed
Engine Acceleration A
Semi Automatic Gears would make this the best in the field
Aerodynamics E
Awful Aero, Front Wing, Rear Wing and sidepods worst of a bad bunch
Internals C-
Brakes and Suspension are bad

BAR
Engine Power A
EMS could be improved a little
Acceleration B
Semi Automatic gears and better EMS needed
Aerodynamics D-
Rearwing, Front wing and Vanes need to be improved (at least cooling is fine)
Internals C
Very average, Brakes and Steering

Sauber
Power A-
Transmission and Ems
Acceleration B
Semi Automatic gears and EMS
Aerodynamics A+
Though the vanes and airbox are not the best
Internals B-
Brakes Suspension and Steering
(This team should of done much better in Melbourne!!!)

Jaguar
Power A+
Power Transmission and EMS (I don't understand how the Cosworth topped the bar chart either)
Acceleration A+
EMS otherwise maximum.
Aerodynamics D
Rearwing sidepods and Vanes
Internals C
Brakes and Steering System

Toyota
Power B
A little low on Engine Power, bad Transmission and EMS
Acceleration B-
EMS and Semi Automatic Gears
Aerodynamics A-
Frontwing and vanes could be improved
Internals E
A lot of work to be done here, nearly everything!

Jordan
Power A
Need a good transmission to make most of Engine, EMS too
Acceleration A+
Semi Automatic gears and EMS (again)
Aerodynamics A+
Brilliant besides the rear wing
Internals C
Drivers not happy with it yet

Minardi
Power A
Engine running too hot and poor transmission underwrites powerful engine. EMS could be upped and better sidepods needed urgently
Acceleration A
Semi Auto Gears about to come and almost best EMS mean promising Acceleration
Aerodynamics E
Amongst the worst out there in all areas
Internals F
Hakkinen has no confidence in it yet, the parts are poor.

Arrows
Power B
Transmission and EMS are best hope of boosting Ford's "C" engine
Acceleration B
Semi Auto gears would be useful, on the way!
Aerodynamics F
The worst Aerodynamics, not even appearing on the bar chart....
Internals F
Drivers not happy with it yet. Dosn't shine in any area

Ansimov
Power B
Worst engine on the grid, transmission and ems also bad
Acceleration B
Semi automatic gears and EMS needed
Aerodynamics C
Does not excell but not bad either, Front wing could be improved along with sidepods and vanes
Internals B-
Suspension is weak but rest of car not bad at all.

This collective information only appears after the first race before anyone nags me for not telling you this stuff earlier!

If it is possible to buy chassis internal components and sidepods from other teams, Minardi is desperate to do a deal with Ferrari. Come on mate, we're neighbours, be friendly! We have a history together. Forza Italia :D

I have a few ideas about what I would do and wouldn't do about dealing with other teams, but I think it's better if I don't say anything and let you figure out what's best for your interests. Suffice to say that some team managers should be specially careful about what they trade for :)

Actually when you break in, you have the option to offer a deal for the parts, the team you broke in to will then offer the part for cash or a part from your own car. Benefiting both teams. You can only do one part between each race though. If you co-ordinate you could end up both gaining 2 parts each, if you both investigate each other.

I think in this big multiplayer game, asking for permission would be a good idea. Not sure how much Williams would like you going to Ferrari though, they seem to have grown quite a rivalry so far.

Samsung have a massive multi-million dollar supply deal to manufacture parts for the Apple iPhone, despite the fact Apple and Samsung have been countersuing each other to insane levels in a patent war. They still do business even though they hate each others guts :)

And yes, taking out all my frustration on BAR is almost a form of therapy for me (Plus it's funny as hell whenever Kostas and I double-team him) :P

GPM2 sure is rejectful sometimes, despite removing security for all teams Williams were unable to break in to BAR. (don't mention wheelchairs...)
BAR did manage to break in to Williams, but failed at the first attempt to steal their rearwing. Normally I woul then use the trade option, but considering you guys hate each other I went to steal again and BAR were caught and "fined" 125K.

Jaguar have started work on a new rear wing and Williams new sidepods.

I always thought that the 'unknown' retirements were akin to Nigel Mansell pulling over because he didn't want to drive the car anymore at the 1995 Spanish GP.
