Hello, so good to be back. It's been a long long time. So glad to see new team profiles being published, I really enjoyed this one. I hope to stick around for more of what I've missed for so long.

Re: 2014 Australian Grand Prix Thread - A New Dawn?
Good to see Magnussen making it to P4. He's the kind of aggressive driver McLaren needed. I can see why they didn't want to enter this season with 2 conservative drivers who won't get the absolute best speed out of the car. I expect him to continue to outqualify Button. I'm not looking too much into...

Re: 2014 Australian Grand Prix Thread - A New Dawn?
Is there an elplanation as to why the cars are about 4 seconds slower than last year? Surely they don't have that much less downforce. Not surprised by Red Bull's pace. The car is not aerodynamically flawed, Newey's designs are usually anything but, it's just the underpowered, unreliable unit they h...

Re: 2014 Australian Grand Prix Thread - A New Dawn?
I just found a few comments from Button in the BBC preview. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/formula1/26407279 "I'm always worried about Red Bull," Button said. "If they can put a few laps together you can see their pace. They're strong. It's a good-looking car; it looks like it should work...

Meanwhile, I just found this: m I've been wondering for a few weeks now since testing started, is RB technically allowed to either use TR technology, or demand their drivers to move over? I vaugely remember some sort of competition rule saying RB can't technically demand TRs submit to them, but am ...

Re: The Paul Di Resta Quotes Thread
In my opinion, di Resta is about as average as it gets. Aside from a F3 title, and some Dario Franchitti buildup, as well as a few flashes of slightly above average-ness, he hasn't done much. He doesn't deserve the seat with a top team both him and the British media so desperately want. He's one of ...

1. Adrian Soohtl - Picking up where he left off. Really hoping to find a HRT F112 frontwing on ebay someday I'd prefer the F112 to remain in one piece. They could present it at Goodwood in some 10-20 years, as they did with the Life car. That'd be a bit problematic seeing that some of the parts are already missing - the engines have been returned...

The drivers should man up about being blocked. Seriously, Perez was miles ahead of Senna. Agreed, at the end of the day it didn't make any difference anyway, Senna's slow as a snail even without any other help. At the moment, it probably has to go to Bruno Senna , for being demolished by The Reverend once again. 10 cars seperate them, the largest gap between team mates on this grid. Free practice times are completely meaningless figures, because fuel loads and what programme the driver is on are unknown to us. Why so much hate directed to ards Senna? Had it not been for the crash in Q2, he would have surely done well. He looked fast in P3. Tarmac on the exit of the hairpin at Hockenheim is probably unnecessary, but getting rid of tarmac runoff completely is absolutely ridiculous. The only reason the mid-season tests were ineffective were because of the track. The drivers said it was fun to drive at Mugello, but the layout was hardly suited for testing new aero parts. They really shouldn't drop mid-season testing, they just need to use a better racetrack, such as Imola, which...

I'll be honest, Alonso deserves it the most. A 3rd championship for Alonso has been long overdue, 2007 probably should've been his had he not been in a team which wanted Hamilton to beat him more than anything else, and 2010 too, had Ferrari not gotten strategy critically wrong. Whiting needs to use the DRS at a track like this to create an overtaking opportunity, rather than to create overtaking. Meaning, use DRS to try and get the cars closer together, so they can overtake on their own, without DRS. Have the DRS zone on the short straight after turn 1. That will bunch th...

What really peeves me about the engine formula, is that the restrictions on what the manufacturers can do to their engines is ridiculous. Reshuffle the season calendar, then allow more in-season testing. Group races by region. Millions are wasted every year flying to Asia twice at the start of the year, then 3 times more later in the year, for example. Or going from Monaco, to Canada, then back across the pond to Valencia, then back ...
