KL-racer's Alternate SUPER GT: 2006 Season

KL-racer’s Alternate SUPER GT: 2006 season

Sorry about the long delay. I had technical issues with my primary laptop, so I ended up using an older model laptop while I type this. The Prize money and points systems will remain unchanged. EDIT: After much thought and time concerns, I ended up reverting back to a 10 race schedule but the following changes will be in effect.

1. success ballast will be changed to .05(X) where X is the number of points.
2. the upgrade system will be changed to 3 million yen = 0.25 point for GT500 and 1.5 million yen = 0.25 point for GT300.

Since the Lexus SC430 is now entering the series, the new stats for the SC430 are going to be an average across all of the current supra teams still in the series which after calculating will be 10.08/10.08/10.08. In addition, Nissan was originally going to withdraw for a year while they developing the GTR for the 2008 season (thanks Captaingetz12 for that edit!), but Hayate auto garage convinced them to not do that. So, Nissan will stay in SUPER GT for 2006 and 2007 with the 350Z. However, after much debate, I decided to allow the Lamborghini Murcielago for GT500 and they are allowed to keep the AWD system on it. In terms of GT300, the most notable change is that the Impreza is now AWD, while under the previous rules it had to be converted to RWD. Likewise, if any future FWD vehicles decided to compete in this series, they now have to race as FWD not RWD. Therefore, no drive train conversions allowed in both GT500 and GT300, but engine swaps in GT300 are still allowed if it’s realistic. So, here’s the entry list, pending if anyone wants to enter, of course.

EDIT: The three numbers after the two drivers are the car stats, first one is acceleration, second one is cornering and the last one is reliability. As requested by CaptainGetz12

Fantastic :) if its allowed, I'd like to enter one car in each class as Gazprom Restov Racing. If there's a free Murcielago we'll enter that for the GT500 class, and an Imprezza for the GT300 class. Hope that's all above board, I'll nominate drivers later when I've got more than a few minutes to spare :)

They only have enough money to resign one driver but even with that they didn't have enough money for a second driver, so I left them out.

since you had convinced Nissan to change their plans to withdraw. Yes, you can still use the 350Z.

If Hayate is allowed to run the old 350Z, if I entered can I be allowed to run the old Supra?

Since Blokkmonsta actively protest the change from Toyotas to Lexuses, they wish to run some Toyotas to show that they arent outdated :D

In your case, no, you can't use the old supra for this season. If you want to buy the Kivasport 350Z from last season you could use that, see if you get better luck than me.

Pulsar will probably pull the plug for now to allow others the opportunity to join in. That means Gounon, Takagi, Bouchut and Yoshimoto are free to good homes.

before I confirm my post, I would like to see the current costs to get Yoshimoto.

I wold also like to know the cost to get these drivers:

Keita Sawa: (JPN): http://www.driverdb.com/drivers/keita-sawa/
Naoki Hattori (JPN): http://www.driverdb.com/drivers/naoki-hattori/
Daisuke Ito (JPN): http://www.driverdb.com/drivers/daisuke-ito/
Cong Fu Cheng (CHN): http://www.driverdb.com/drivers/cong-fu-cheng/

I also need to know the cost to get a yesteryear 350Z for the GT500 class

And for the GT300 class, I want to know the cost to run this ancient beauty:
Image

This Toyota AE86 Trueno raced in JGTC/Super GT up until 2001. It used the engine from a 90's MR2.

I would like to know how much it will cost to run this car as it is now. Add some old-school Japanese performance to this series :D

Yoshimoto: 1.5 million yen
Sawa: 1.5 million yen
Hattori: 2 million yen
Cheng: 1 millon yen

to buy kivasport's 350Z for last season: 4 million yen

Ito is already taken, and the Toyota AE86 Tureno is too old, but you can use the mooncraft shiden as an alternate for no cost for GT300. It's old school enough but it actually raced in 2006.

Aww, just when I thought I could bring something properly rejectful to this series! :?

On a side note, the Nissan GTR doesnt enter Super GT until 2008. You're telling me that Nissan is willing to lose two years of competition just to develop their next car? :)

Back to my entry, I want to know two more things before I decide to enter:

I want to know the stats of this driver:

Kohei Hirate (JPN):

I also want to know the performance specs of both the Mooncraft Shiden and the other kit car of the period: the Vemac RD (Raced from 2005-)

Hirate is signed by Nippon Nagoya. In terms of specs of the Shiden and the Vemac RD the Vemac is 0.25 point better in Cornering than the Shiden, but the Shiden has 0.25 better Acceleration than the Vemac. Reliability is the same for both vehicles.

Can I enter a GT300 team?

Castrol Racing Team
It would run a Porsche 911 GT3, and the drivers would be Juichi Wakisaka and Mitsuhiro Kinoshita.
I did a search on this topic, and both of them should be free.

From Takagi Racing Enterprises...

GT500: No changes.
GT300: The Integra was a success indeed, but we will replace it with S2000 for this year. And Fontana has been replaced with nobody else than... HWNSNBM!!

Oh, and can anyone please create a page for this in the wiki containing the entry list? :)

I just submitted my approval request for the wiki, I can probably enter just the text for the time being as soon as I get approved, but someone else still needs to do the other formatting stuff needed, because I am not that great on the techinical stuff anyway.

Yeah, it's me again, I just got the XML file in xkoranate all done today. As you may well known, the stat calculations for relaiblity did change from last season. Basically, for GT500 reliability will be divided by 2 (instead of 3) after the drivers and car stats are entered. For GT300, there is no divsion needed for reliability because these cars are slower, so they need to be as reliable as possible because all of you complained about GT300 Relaiblity being ROTY!

alright, I've decided where i'll put my upgrades for both my cars:

GT500: Blokkmonsta Motorsport-Nissan 350Z

9.5+1.0/9.5+0.5/11
12.5M - 9.0M = 3.5M

GT300: Blokkmonsta Custom Garage-Vemac RD

3+0.5/3.25/3+0.5
5.5M - 3.0M = 2.5M

Finally! After so many changes to the rulebook, calculations, success ballast and expanding the calendar to 15 races. The 2006 Super GT season is about to start at Okayama for the IBR Pizzas 300KM! Yes, in a new feature, I will name every race in this season, instead of just refering to the venue unlike the previous season.

And in addition, in an effort to make it really funny, the podium ceremonies will feature a random guest asking the post race questions after every race! Some of them are pretty obvious, others are less predictiable. And each of the post race interviews will be seperated from the race results itself.

So, here's the qualifying results:

GT500
1 S. Yamamoto/Y. Tachikawa (ARTA) 1:32.810
2 O. Beretta/S. Motoyama (Equinox-Lamb Racing) 1:33.088
3 C. Fittipaldi/S. Nakano (Grand Honshu Racing) 1:33.116
4 L. Duval/H. Mutoh (Fireball Racing) 1:33.138
5 D. Ito/R. Lyons (Dynamite Racing Team) 1:33.254
6 J. Paulo De Oliverira/T. Tsuchiya (Hayate Auto Garage) 1:33.412
7 M. Salo/K Hirate (Nippon Nagoya) 1:33.566
8 J. Plato/K. Kobayashi (HKS Racing) 1:33.596
9 R. Firman/H. Noda (Advan Racing Team) 1:33.618
10 N. Hattori/K. Sawa (Blokkmonsta Motorsport) 1:33.753
11 M. Krumm/A. Yoong (Nihon Racing) 1:33.771
12 A. Lotterer/R. Michigami (Gazprom Restov Racing) 1:33.809
13 J. Dufour/T. Kaneishi (Castrol Racing Team) 1:33.816
14 H. Mitsusada/ R. Collard (Takagi Racing Enterprises) 1:33.890

ARTA got the pole position in GT500. the only lamborghini in the field, fielded by restov racing, qualified 12th.
GT300
1 Y. Ide/T. Matsuda (ARTA) 1:37.028
2 T. Yamano/S. Mitsuyama (Dynamite Racing Team) 1:37.415
3 Y. Kunimoto/S. Ara (Fireball Racing) 1:37.488
4 T. Schedier/K. sasaki (Equinox-Lamb Racing) 1:37.503
5 A. Couto/T. Kogure (Nippon Nagoya) 1:37.636
6 H. Matsuda/H.P. Tung (Panasonic TOM'S Racing) 1:37.951
7 K. Nakajima/M. Neal (Top Secret Racing) 1:38.617
8 N. Karthikeyan/K. Ihara (Nihon Racing) 1:38.784
9 P. McCarthy/K. Yamanuchi (HKS Racing) 1:38.802
10 H. Yoshimoto/C.F. Cheng (Blokkmonsta Custom Garage) 1:38.863
11 R. Fukuda/HWNSNBM (Takagi Racing Enterprises) 1:39.029
12 J. Wakisaka/M. Kinoshita (Castrol Racing Team) 1:39.050
13 S. Sarrazin/S. Zlobin (Gazprom Restov Racing) 1:39.365

Meanwhile, ARTA also got pole position for GT300. A bunch of new teams will try to crack the wide-open GT300 pecking order, including Nihon's RX7, HKS Racing's Prius, and Blokkmonsta's Vemac RD.

Okay, just to tell everyone out there. I finally got Gold on the x challenge in GT5 using the DS3! And not to mention, I just need to do the 2 24-hr enduros to be done with A-Spec mode. But, that's for another day. Today, the season opener is at Okayama for the IBR pizzas 300KM! So, let's see the race results

GT500
1 S. Yamamoto/Y. Tachikawa (ARTA) 2:16:14.314
2 L. Duval/H. Mutoh (Fireball Racing) 2:16:53.831
3 D. Ito/R. Lyons (Dynamite Racing Team) 2:17:23.298
4 A. Lotterer/R. Michigami (Gazprom Restov Racing) 2:17:38.768
5 R. Firman/H. Noda (Advan Racing Team) 2:17:40.146
6 J. Dufour/T. Kaneishi (Castrol Racing Team) 2:17:42.879
7 O. Beretta/S. Motoyama (Equinox-Lamb Racing) 2:17:44.079
8 H. Mitsusada/ R. Collard (Takagi Racing Enterprises) 2:17:56.768
9 C. Fittipaldi/S. Nakano (Grand Honshu Racing) 2:17:58.804
10 M. Krumm/A. Yoong (Nihon Racing) 1 lap
11 N. Hattori/K. Sawa (Blokkmonsta Motorsport) 1 lap
12 J. Plato/K. Kobayashi (HKS Racing) 1 lap
J. Paulo De Oliverira/T. Tsuchiya (Hayate Auto Garage) DNF lap 25
M. Salo/K Hirate (Nippon Nagoya) DNF lap 20

ARTA won the GT500 race from pole position, but that's not the most shocking feat, the more shocking feat is that Restov Racing's lamborghini scored 4th place points on it's first race! No doubt that the AWD system helped out of the slower speed stuff! The defending champions, Grand Honshu ended up finishing out of the points in 9th.

GT300
1 T. Yamano/S. Mitsuyama (Dynamite Racing Team) 2:17:43.936
2 Y. Ide/T. Matsuda (ARTA) 2:17:46.343
3 R. Fukuda/HWNSNBM (Takagi Racing Enterprises) 2:18:10.911
4 Y. Kunimoto/S. Ara (Fireball Racing) 2:18:12.281
5 A. Couto/T. Kogure (Nippon Nagoya) 2:18:30.013
6 H. Matsuda/H.P. Tung (Panasonic TOM'S Racing) 2:18:30.993
7 N. Karthikeyan/K. Ihara (Nihon Racing) 2:18:36.592
8 J. Wakisaka/M. Kinoshita (Castrol Racing Team) 2:18:39.400
9 T. Schedier/K. sasaki (Equinox-Lamb Racing) 2:18:51.481
10 K. Nakajima/M. Neal (Top Secret Racing) 2:18:53.938
11 H. Yoshimoto/C.F. Cheng (Blokkmonsta Custom Garage) 2:19:03.982
S. Sarrazin/S. Zlobin (Gazprom Restov Racing) DNF lap 75
P. McCarthy/K. Yamanuchi (HKS Racing) DNF lap 54

Dynamite Racing team barely squeaked out the GT300 win, while ARTA comes 2nd and TRE in the new S2000 ended up 3rd. Nihon racing barely missed out on points, they finished 7th. Meanwhile, the Prius of HKS racing ended up not finishing the race due to the heavyly modified 1.5L Turbo engine from a toyota Vitz/Yairs going BOOM! Of course, the interview will be coming soon! I just need to think it over!

Round 1 interview

Well, without any further delay, here's the special guest, Il Barone Raperante (sorry, if I got the spelling wrong, the first time around!)

Wow! What an amazing day to do this interview, first let's do the GT300 podium. Starting with Dynamite Racing, Well, I can't believe that you spoiled ARTA's bid to do the double down! How does that feel?

Yamano: We knew that the ARTA garaiya was fast from the start, so we had to do a perfect strategy and pit stop to get ahead of them, and we did it!

Turning to Second place ARTA, Yuji Ide, you barely missed out on the overtaking move on the final lap, how difficult was it to overtake out there given that the track is tight?

Ide: of course, it's perfect for side-to-side racing but being lapped by the GT500 cars can get hair raising and there's like only one real good overtaking point on this track anyway.

turning over to the third place Takagi racing enterprises, HWNSNBM, how surprised are you to see the new S2000 get on the podium on it's first race?

HWNSNBM: Well, we take third place espically over the course of a long season and i was decently shocked that the S2000 was easy on it's tires!

Now, let's do the Gt500 podium

First off, ARTA's Sakon yamamoto, Sakon, how did it feel drawing first blood?

yamamoto: Of course we have to be careful not to get too hot too quickly due to success ballast, but this is a good start for us.

Next up, Fireball racing, Loic, you were off during the final stint, what was the reason why you backed off?

Duval: I was afraid that the engine might blow up, but thankfully, it didn't happen!

Finally, third place Dynamite Racing, Richard, how hard was the lap traffic caused by GT300 today?

Lyons: Well, given that we are 27 cars on the track at the same time at two different speeds, of course there can be tense moments! But as long as the spotters do their job well, it shouldn't be a problem!

ARTA would like to invest:

for the GT500 Honda: 3 million Yen on cornering, 3 million Yen on top speed
for the GT300 ASL Garaiya: 2 million on cornering and 2 million Yen on top speed.

And I have a question: Why does roblomas52 have two teams in GT300?
