RIP Froilan Gonzalez
RIP Froilan Gonzalez
AKA "The Pampas Bull" fast & aggressive, a favourite of Enzo Ferrari, might well have won a World Title if he had not been competing with Fangio etc.
Passed away aged 90.

Rest in peace. Being the first winner of the most successful F1 team is one of the greatest achievements one can imagine, especially considering that very few drivers manage to win a GP for any team.

No, Tony Rolt died in 2008
Robert Manzon is still alive, but he only started racing in 1947...
I believe the last pre-war racer still alive may be Heinz Brendel, who drove for Mercedes in the European Championship in 1939, and is now 98 years old.
