F1 Rejects Forum Ratings 2013 - R5 Spain

Post by rachel1990 »

Its been a few hours so the ratings can now start

Vettel: 6 Strangely didn't have the race pace. A wonderful feeling
Webber: 5 Very quiet. Bad start but moved up.
Red Bull: 5 Very surprised about the race pace. Monaco could be better for them though

Alonso: 10 Amazing start and always looked like he was going to win
Massa: 8 Great result again but a win would look better
Ferrari: 10 team of the day. Almost perfect result (a 1-2 would have been perfect)

Button: 4 Terrible start was saved by the pitstops
Perez: 5 He is trying and it was a bit unfair that he didn't finish ahead of button
McLaren: 4 GO BACK TO LAST YEARS CAR!!!!!!!

Raikkonen: 9 Great race the curse didn't hit him this time
Grosjean: 3 Unlucky with the car
Lotus: 8 Good tyre use and they could get a win in monaco

Rosberg: 5 Better than Bahrain. But not by much
Hamilton: 2. Awful race the tyres just fell apart
Mercedes: 0 What is the point of have a good car in quali if you can't do anything in the race.

Gutierrez: 7 Almost got a point and lead the race at 1 point.
Hulkenberg: 2 Unsafe release. Vergne was not amused
Sauber: 1 Maybe they need to learn the green cross code of looking BOTH WAYS

Di Resta : 8 Underrated performance again. Good Haul of points
Sutil: 4 Damm pit stops again!
Force India: 5. If only they could sort out the pit stops!

Ricciardo: 7 good race got a point getting closer to the red bull seat
Vergne: 4 It was hardly his fault today. Damm Sauber
Toro Rosso: 6 Good updates just need a bit of luck

Maldonado: 4 What a difference 12 months make.
Bottas: 4 again he was nowhere
Williams: 2 Have they done anything to the car?

Pic: 8 Great result
Van de Garde: 5 Well he drove fast enough for the tyre to come off at least. Very unlucky
Caterham: 3 The drivers don't need you to cause more problems!

Bianchi: 4 Beat Chilton by miles at least
Chilton: 1 Bring back Glock! Not showing anything he could do!
Marussia: 2 They need better updates

You beat me to it Rach. I was literally half-way through creating this topic. Can i request that all of you give a reason behind your choices.

Vettel 7: Not his greatest weekend. It's not like him to finish a million miles away from the winner.
Webber 7: Shocking start cost him dearly. Did create most of the overtaking that went on in that race though
Red Bull 7: Had a weekend of Mediocrity

Alonso 10: And that's why many say he is the best driver in F1 at the moment
Massa 9: Overcame ridiculous penalty to earn a podium. Loses a mark for being slightly off Alonso's pace and because he wore the tires out quicker
Ferrari 10: Domenicalli's men did a super job. Stefano is starting to get every polished.

Button 6: Dreadful Qualifying and only making 1 less stop managed to get him ahead of Perez
Perez 7: Showed Button up all weekend and only the Tires stopped him from finishing ahead as well
Mclaren 5: The struggles continue

Raikkonen 9: Great effort from Mr Consistent. Now Leave him alone to fight for the title
Grosjean 7: There or Thereabouts all weekend and his retirement for once wasn't his fault
Lotus 8: Need to work on qualy pace to give themselves a better chance especially at Monaco

Rosberg 8: Considering how crap the car was to do 3 stops instead of 4 and still salvage 6th is a good effort
Hamilton 4: Awful race where he dropped quicker than a bouncing ball and complained about the tires
Mercedes 4: They seemingly have the Syndrome Red Bull had in 2010 and Mclaren Last year: No points on Saturday. Get it sorted

Hulkenberg 3: Rubbish Weekend with a litany of mishaps. I think he's starting to regret his move
Gutierrez 8: Did something right for once and set the fastest lap
Sauber 6: Kaltenborn needs to get a move on before the season goes to waste

Di Resta 7: Good solid job although if he had more aggression he would have taken 6th. Expect him to find a reason for not finishing 6th
Sutil 6: This Guy is making Chris Amon look like the Luckiest man on the Planet. Just how much bad luck can one man get?
Force India 7: Doing their Usually solid job although they need to find some good luck to Sutil

Vergne 5: Strong Qualy but awful race. Well behind Ricciardo even before the puncture
Ricciardo 7: Scored a point and left Vergne for dead
Toro Rosso 7: There's some decent progress coming from this squad. Just need the last touches

Maldonado 4: Difficult afternoon for the Reverend not helped by doing some Pit-Lane Speeding
Bottas 4: Did he even turn up for this race? Even The Caterham's and Marussia's got more airtime
Williams 2: What a Difference a year makes. With STR improving the Grove squad could soon be the 9th best team

Pic 6: Loses a mark for Qualifying Last but He beat both Marussia's and got more Screentime than Bottas
Van der Garde 9: Great weekend ruined by a botched Tire Change
Caterham 7: The Green machines could pull off the odd surprise

Bianchi 7: Better than Bahrain and Beat Chilton
Chilton 5: Another Anonymous weekend
Marussia 6: Since China the team has lost ground to Caterham

Vettel - 6 - By his standards, a poor run. Still good enough for 4th.
Webber - 7 - The typical appalling start aside, he kept it up there.

Alonso - 10 - One of the best starts I've ever seen. He had the race effectively won by turn 3.
Massa - 9 - 9th to 3rd is a fantastic effort.

Button - 7 - Didn't expect him to make the points. Good job.
Perez - 7 - Likewise.

Raikkonen - 9 - Breaks Enoch's curse.
Grosjean - 5 - Unfortunate.

Rosberg - 7 - I'll give him his due, he hung on in there much better than I thought he would.
Hamilton - 0 - Passed by every man and his dog. Utterly pathetic.

Di Resta - 7 - More points for the Glass of Milk.
Sutil - 5 - This guy has no luck whatsoever. Superb start but screwed over by his pitcrew.

Hulkenberg - 3 - Bad day in the office.
Gutierrez - 8 - Well, I've been wrong before. Maybe he does have some talent...

Maldonado - 4 - And to think a year ago he stormed to victory.
Bottas - 2 - Utter shite.

Ricciardo - 8 - Damn decent effort.
Vergne - 4 - Clowning around.

Pic - 7 - Good afternoon for him
VDG - 5 - Unlucky.

Bianchi - 5 - No more herorics.
Chilton - 4 - He was in this race?

Or the person who actually did the SPLINK!

Oh okay, I stop, anyway...

Vettel - 6: He just couldn't take the fight to the Ferraris and Kimi. Damage limitation did work well, though.
Webber - 5: Another bad start, but he fought back to fifth, seeing the car having problems with the tires, this was the best he could do...
Red Bull - 6: 4th and 5th. They are lucky that Grosjean dropped out early.

Alonso - 10: That certain double pass in Turn 3 showed how much he wanted it. Perfect race.
Massa - 9: A great effort from Felipe! From 9th place, this was a superb drive. Not perfect, but very good.
Ferrari - 10: Untouchable in the race in the hands of Alonso. Massa would have finished second without impeding Webber.

Button - 7: I honestly thought he would finish outside the points, he proved me wrong.
Perez - 7: Same goes for him. Scoring points is the best McLaren can do now.
McLaren - 5: Still behind Force India - in the race as well. Gotta pull off a 2009, or else.

Raikkonen - 9: Ferrari's pace wasn't on his level, but Mr. Consistent pulls a third second place on the trot. This consistency might help him to the title, if Lotus helps him constantly upgrading the car.
Grosjean - 5: He could have finished fourth without that retirement I think. If not, at least 6th.
Lotus - 8: Good job by the team, although a retirement is a blot in the copybook nevertheless.

Rosberg - 7: Excellent quali, alright race. We have officially discovered Mercedesitis.
Hamilton - 2: Lewis, what the bathplug was THAT?
Mercedes - 3: Their drivers dropped 15 places total from the first row to the finish. That is unbelievable.

Hülkenberg - 4: His team-mate showed him up big time.
Gutierrez - 8: If Rosberg was on a four stopper, this kid could have scored a point. Finally he's starting to drive maturely. IIDOTR #2
Sauber - 5: Some improvement, but they need to pull out the big guns, before they can only finish 8th, even behind Toro Rosso.

di Resta - 8: The Glass of Milk is not giving up.
Sutil - 5: You gotta be kidding me, how many times did Adrian have awful luck again?
Force India - 6: This is the team that is currently the best Mercedes-engined team, if the Silver Arrows decide to eat their tires for breakfast. That says a lot.

Vergne - 5: Meh.
Ricciardo - 8: Now this is the driver you do NOT want to fire from Red Bull - he wants Mark's seat. IIDOTR #1
Toro Rosso - 6: 7th place might be a realistic target this year for them.

Maldonado - 4: Speeding in the pit lane a year after his victory. And without that, still miles off the points.
Bottas - 3: I recall him being chased by Pic
Williams - 2: A double Q1 dropout, and almost being hunted down by a Caterham. Wow.

Pic - 6: He qualified dead last. But it only seemed to be a bad day for Charles, who threw the gauntlet at Marussia again, and chasing a certain Finnish rookie in the end.
van der Garde - 6: A great quali destroyed by his wheel. Shame.
Caterham - 4: Williams is close enough.

Bianchi - 5: This was the best he could do.
Chilton - 5: This was the best he could do.
Marussia - 4: Will they fight back?

Vettel: 5, a non-factor in this one
Webber: 7, he gained positions from Merc's disastrous strategy instead of losing.
Red Bull: 5

Alonso: 10, for winning
Massa: 7, not bad
Ferrari: 9

Button: 6
Perez: 6
McLaren: 5

Raikkonen: 9
Grosjean: 6, good Qually run but mechanical failure is limiting this time
Lotus: 6, Grosjean's suspension problems limit this one.

Rosberg: 6
Hamilton: 2
Mercedes: 1, the cars were so good in qualifying., but the finishes were bad

Hulkenberg: 5
Gutierrez Gutierrez: 9, started poorly (19th) and marched up to 11th might have some promise after all.
Sauber: 1 for dangerous pit work with the Hulk

di Resta: 7, more points
Sutil: 5
Force India: 6

Vergne: 6, taken out by a Sauber
Ricciardo: 8, he is probably Webber's heir apparent at Red Bull with that 10th and finishing in front of Hamilton.
Toro Rosso: 6

Maldonado: 5, would have been a 8 without that speeding penalty as he would have averaged a full second faster than Bottas.
Bottas: 3, went nowhere and outran by Gutierrez and Maldonado
Williams: 2, the car is an absolute dog barely faster than an updated Caterham

Pic: 7, started last and and finished in front of the Marussia cars
van derp Garde: 5, the team derped, he didn't.
Caterham: 3, van derp Garde tire problems lower him.

Bianchi: 6, not bad but Marussia needs an upgrade bad!
Chilton: 4, last car running the weakest driver in F1
Marussia: 4

Vettel - 6 - Not great for his standards, solid points though
Webber - 6 - Nothing special

Alonso - 10 - Brilliant stuff, those first few corners were a joy to watch, fully deserved win
Massa - 9 - Great effort, not quite on Alonso's level, but he done very well nonetheless

Button - 7 - After his disaster qualifying and start, he done well to score some decent points
Perez - 7 - Had the better of Button for most of the weekend, impressive again

Raikkonen - 9 - Consistent like usual, I think he's equaled Heidfeld's finishing record noq
Grosjean - 7 - Quite competitive, unlucky with the retirement

Rosberg - 7 - Done well to salvage as many points as he did
Hamilton - 4 - Overshadowed by Rosberg

Hulkenberg - 4 - Reasonable until the pit error
Gutierrez² - 7 - Almost scored his first point, good effort

Di Resta - 7 - Impressive yet again
Sutil - 6 - Incredible first lap, but his luck is reminding me of Michael Schumacher last year

Maldonado - 3 - To think he won here last year
Bottas - 4 - Not a great weekend

Vergne - 5 - Not his best effort
Ricciardo - 7 - Another solid drive, thought he'd end up with more than 1 point

Pic - 6 - Recovered well from a crap qualifying
Van Der Garde - 7 - Best effort so far from him, unlucky with the tyre

Bianchi - 5 - Nothing of note
Chilton - 3 - Slower than Bianchi
I like the way Snrub thinks!

Vettel - 7 - Not Vettel at his best, but far from his worst.
Webber - 7 - Webber drove well to secure fifth.

Alonso - 10 - Absolutely incredible. I wasn't expecting Alonso to win, but his drive to victory and the concomitant response from the crowd just made the weekend for me. Fernando Alonso at his very best.
Massa - 9 - Very strong drive from Massa to collect his first podium of the season. I think we're finally starting to see glimpses of the old Massa back in action.

Button - 8 - For the first half of the race, I was absolutely petrified that Button had found himself entangled in the infamous "Button set-up black-hole." Fortunately, he managed to salvage eighth after that dismal start and his problems with tire temperature.
Perez - 8 - Perez has just about vindicated himself in my eyes after the imbroglio of China. He's really maturing quite rapidly.

Raikkonen - 10 - The "Iceman" lives up to his name, driving an incredibly competent and consistent race to finish second. No theatrics. No mistakes.
Grosjean - 7 - Grosjean is really starting to come into his own, doing very well in putting his past reputation to rest. Drove competently all weekend until his race was sadly ended by a suspension failure.

Rosberg - 5 - I suppose pole to sixth is better than pole to ninth.
Hamilton - 4 - Second to twelfth is very poor indeed.

Appendix: Just to clarify, I don't hold either of the Mercedes drivers responsible for what was a incredibly poor performance from Mercedes. The race pace of that Mercedes is simply laughable.

Hulkenberg - 5 - Solid drive until the Sauber mechanics decided to launch the Hulk at JEV. Not the best we've seen from Hulkenberg.
Gutierrez² - 8 - Gutierrez Gutierrez has to be the surprise of the weekend. Mexican drivers seem to respond incredibly well to media criticism.

Di Resta - 8 - Good drive to finish seventh. Could've very well passed Rosberg for sixth if not for the signals system failure in his car.
Sutil - 6 - I've never liked Sutil, but I'm genuinely beginning to feel sorry for him. His luck is horrendous.

Maldonado - 4 - Goddammit Williams.
Bottas - 4 - Goddammit Williams.

Vergne - 5 - Was looking to set a point before the tires on his STR decided to implode.
Ricciardo - 8 - I'm progressively becoming more and more impressed with Ricciardo. Very good drive to secure that last point for STR

Pic - 6 - Drove relatively well, I suppose.
Van Der Garde - 7 - Poor VDG. Wheels snapping of your car is a surefire method of ruining your day.

Bianchi - 5 - Finished ahead of his teammate. I guess that counts for something.
Chilton - 4 - Finished behind his teammate. I guess that doesn't count for anything.

Vettel: 5. Off pace, impressed every non-Vettel fan
Webber: 4. Horrid start, then anonymous.
Red Bull: 6. Horner is still complaining about tyres?! Just get on with the program!

Alonso: 10. Perfect race all around.
Massa: 10. Overcame a stupid FIA penalty to finish 3rd.
Ferrari: 10. Overcame Bahrain woes in almost the best possible way.

Button: 6. Not impressed.
Pérez: 8. Much faster than Bunson Jetton.
McLaren: 7. Slowly improving.

Räikkönen: 9. Enoch hasn't cursed him! Yet...
Grosjean: 5. Suspension failure robbed a good result.
Lotus: 8. Still going strong.

Rosberg: 8. Finished well ahead of Lewis.
Hamilton: 0. A lap down, passed by Maldonado at one point, etc. "I can not go any slower."
Mercedes: 1. Tyre issues need sorted out before Monaco. If they lock out the front row there, half the field could be wiped out.

Hulkenberg: 6. Screwed by the team.
Guiterrez Guiterrez: 10. IIDOTR #1. That's how you drive well. Keep it up.
Sauber: 4. Okay, but not great.

Di Resta: 9. Another good haul of points.
Sutil: 7. Screwed to hell by SFI, but recovered nicely.
Sahara Force India: 7. Tell me when Sutil's race isn't f***ed up in the pits for once.

Vergne: 6. Thrown in the dust bin by Sauber and the car.
Ricciardo: 10. IIDOTR #2. Another point. Great work by him. I sense a seat change at Red Bull...
Toro Rosso: 8. The car is good. I think they can score double points finishes. Keep it up!

Maldonado: 5. Okay.
Bottas: 3. Anonymous.
Williams: 0. You said there would be updates? If so, they screwed Williams to the point where Caterham is racing them.

Pic: 7. Good race for him.
van der Garde: 7. The pit crew derped, not the driver... Anyhow, good showing from the what seemed to be new Alex Yoong.
Caterham: 7. The updates got them closer to Williams. Good sign.

Chilton: 5. Finished behind Bianchi. AGAIN.
Bianchi: 6. Decent, but not great.
Marussia: 5. Need better upgrades.

Vettel 6 - 4th is a decent result, but such strategy indecision is unlike him.
Webber 5 - Probably outdrove Vettel for the last 65 laps, but sadly for him he was already 10 places behind after poor quali and start.

Alonso 10 - The double move around turn 3 was arguably one of the best moves of the season so far. Perfect.
Massa 8 - Maybe lost 2nd with his penalty.

Button 6 - Did well to recover lost ground in the race.
Perez 6 - Great Q2 lap, but was punished by having to go to the four-stopper.

Raikkonen 9 - Lost the race in the second stint, but drove well to claim his third successive runner-up slot.
Grosjean 6 - Solid quali and start, unlucky with the suspension failure.

Rosberg 7 - That he gets good ratings after starting on pole and finishing a minute off the pace says it all for Mercedes' tyre wear. Made the three-stopper work.
Hamilton 2 - That he gets bad ratings after starting 2nd and getting lapped says it all for his race. Lost at sea.

Hulkenberg 4 - I think he would have been beaten by Gutierrez even without the pitstop woes. Fairly average.
Gutierrez 8 - Unlucky not to snatch a point.

Di Resta 7 - 7th is kind of expected from him now. Keeps admirably racking up the points.
Sutil 6 - Lost 50 seconds in the pits and was around 40 seconds down on Di Resta...

Maldonado 4 - Speeding in the pitlane was a bit silly.
Bottas 2 - Trounced by his teammate today.

Ricciardo 7 - Gets another point on the board.
Vergne 4 - Very invisible before his retirement.

Pic 6 - Very poor quali, made up for it in the race by hounding Bottas.
Van der Garde 7 - Great quali, very unlucky in the race.

Bianchi 5 - Barely noticed, but that's to be expected.
Chilton 4 - Ditto.

Further proof that nobody cares about Toro Rosso. Although Ricciardo was impressive once again.

Just a FYI, I actually care about Toro Rosso. They used to be Minardi, and Minardi was my third favorite team and still is. Even being owned by that hypocrite Dietrich Mateschitz (see the link in my sig).
