Don't expect much from me this round (I've never been able to do well at Hockenhiem because I just can't get the car hooked up in the stadium section at all.)

Unfortunately, I can't take part in this nor the following few GPs, as my failure in getting a job in time has resulted in me being dragged to our summer cottage with my parents. I do get to use a laptop with an Internet connection there from time to time, but it obviously doesn't have F1C installed on it. :( Shame, Hockenheim has always been one of my favourite tracks.

Think of it as a lack of sponsorship money.

My touring car driving style means I do quite alot of kerbhopping...not good here considering how tall the kerbs at the chicanes are!

I initially went for the 'extreme' downforce option of minimum rear wing, giving me a fine top speed of 221mph on the first straight (without any slipstream), but I lost 2 seconds in the infield section. I was in the process of slowly tweaking it (eventually cutting my top speed down to a tiny 216mph) when I remembered I won't be near my PC for the weekend and sort of had to wing it. I was 3rd in the race so I won't be miles off the pace, but it's not one of my better efforts.

Oh well.

QANTAS MRT Press Release:

MRT's lead driver Daniel Melrose was given the BAR 003 for the first time this season to run around the daunting Hockenheim circuit.

In qualifying Melrose showed none of that after experimenting with setups that he had acquired from a Prost Garage Sale went quickest in qualy by just under a tenth from Juan Pablo Montoya, Ralf Schumacher and Michael Schumacher. Team Manager Jack Zaciah however wasn't totally happy as he felt that the car had another 3 or 4 tenths of a second in it from the sector splits from sectors 1 and 2 where Melrose was comfortably fastest.

This showed in the race as time and again Melrose would pull away in sectors 1 and 2 but end up where he started in sector 3. Other than collisions with the 2 Schumachers on lap 7 (Ralf) and lap 13 (Michael) at the first chicken Melrose picked up from where he left of in Canada and won the German Grand Prix. Melrose was 1 fastest lap away from completing the Grand Chelem as one of Ralf's laps late in the race were enough to clinch Fastest Lap.

Melrose had little to say this race except that "The car wasn't perfect through the Stadium but it was good enough."

I planned to do GP4 but somehow I just ran out of time to do it :(
Looks like the F106 championship is dead.

Actually, if I understand correctly, it's only because the Hockenheim circuit is different in 2006.

I was doing F106, but I used to play that game so much, and it doesn't really stand up to the test of heavy use, at least in my opinion. So, lazy as it shows I am, I wasn't really bothered.
Better than 'Tour in a suit case' Takagi.
