Name the rejects!

Post by Bleu »

I created a quiz in Sporcle target is to name all reject drivers since 1990. Kudos to the one who finds one special thing in a quiz.

42/77. You may laugh, but you try it.

Edit - did it again, got 56. This is hard.

48. Can't believe I forgot HWNSNBM. I'm ashamed of myself. Though it should be 49, I remembered Vitantonio Liuzzi, but couldn't spell his name right.

49. Forgot Taki Inoue, among others. Might I suggest, however, that Ratzenberger's name be removed, as he is not eligible for F1 rejects because of the tragedy that befell him.

45 first time, 56 the second time. Jaime Alguersuari is the hardest name to spell since Chiesa (not Chisea).

You got 59 out of 77 F1 drivers with no better than 4th; 5th and 6th; or three 6th places since 1990.

:D

You left out Berttaggia, btw. And I actually missed one that's on the current grid. :(

Bertaggia never actually participated in a race in the 1990s, so I think it's fair enough he left him off the list

But the likes of Bartels, Amati, Langes and Chaves are there, so Bertaggia surely should be. (Edit: I get what you mean now - as in he never actually drove in a GP weekend.)

I got 51/77 - Marques and Rosset were among those I didn't get, and I also spelt Sebastien wrong for Buemi and Bourdais.

I got 53.
Most of the ones I forgot were ones I should have gotten, though! I had a lot of fun playing this.
Shouldn't Bruno Giacomelli also be on this list, btw? And Óscar Larrauri?

Giacomelli got enough results in his Alfa Romeo days to escape rejectdom, and Larrauri only competed from 1988 to 1989.

Here's a new challenge ... after a few goes I imagine that you'd be able to name all 77. What's the best time to name all of them?

I'm currently standing on 3min 54s (ie 7min 6s left on the clock).

That's full on amazing. You have clearly been infused with the spirit of HWNSNBM (the Hungarian god of lists).

57 out of 77. Not bad. Can't believe I forgot Mccarthy even though he was before my time. I only remembered Grosjean with 2 minutes left.

A shameful 37 for me, caused by using my Life Racing Engines keyboard instead of my Ferrari keyboard (well, they do look quite similar) .

When I first tried this, I had no idea who Michael Bartels is. I only do now because he's on the 1991 mod for GP4.

48/77. Would have been 52/77 had it not been for my awful spelling!!! Infact probably more, considering I googled Stéphane Sarrazin to get the spelling right which cost me over half a minute
