Why?
Dydo Monguzzi's engineering prowess has caught the eyes of some very wealthy people, who feel it would be for the benefit of the world to have a one-make series consisting of his automotive genius powered by the finest that the equally-mighty Renzo Engineering has to offer.
What?
Every entrant will be provided with a Dywa-001 and a complementary Renzo DFV-2 3.0 V8. One need not worry about finances, the costs of building, maintaining, repairing and replacing these cars will be covered by the series promoters. Teams won't have sponsorship merely to pay the bills, it will be because sponsors will be begging to be associated with a series of Dywa GP's calibre!
How?
GP2 will be used to make this into reality. As I have no experience running such a series, any assistance will be gratefully welcomed, especially regarding the making of textures as graphic design is not my passion.
The overall format of weekends will be typical for anything run on GP2.
Races will be around 152.5km in length, with the exception of the Nürburgring qualifying race, which will be half as long.
The points system for races is similar to F1's points system at this time, albeit with bonus points.
- 1st - 9
2nd - 6
3rd - 4
4th - 3
5th - 2
6th - 1
Fastest Lap: 1
A unique points format will be used for the Nürburgring qualifying race:
- 1st - 4
2nd - 2
3rd - 1
Fastest Lap: 1
When?
Races will be streamed in the GPR Discord server when they are run for ye to come and watch, though there will not likely be a consistent schedule to this so to not put myself under needless pressure.
Where?
The provisional calendar (subject to confirmation) for 1978 is as follows:
- Enna-Pergusa: 2nd of April
- Imola: 16th of April
- Rouen: 14th of May
- Nürburgring Norisring: 28th of May (Special Qualifying race on the Betonschleife, main race on the Südschleife)
- Misano Syracuse: 18th of June
- Mugello: 25th of June
- Montjuïc Park: 2nd of July
- Castle Combe: 23rd of July
- Clermont-Ferrand: 13th of August
- Monza: 17th of September
Who?
There shall be an initial limit of 14 teams for the inaugural season so I don't have to have too much difficulty sorting out carsets for pre-qualifying.
Much like with Life GP, all drivers must be fictional; however, fictional drivers from canon are permitted, as long as their schedules permit it. For those drivers, stats will be assigned based on their track record in canon. For the rest, it will be in the hands of based RNG. Should a driver get injured, you will be asked to name a replacement, who must meet the same criteria for eligibility.
Ye on the forum are responsible for entering teams and drivers. Entries will be on a first come, first serve basis. An entry must be of the following format:
Team Name (nationality of team):
Driver 1: Driver Name (nationality)
Driver 2: Driver Name (nationality)
Sponsors of team: List of sponsors goes here
The entry list is now FULL! However, for season 2, expect a bigger entry list for when I'm more comfortable managing that sort of thing.
