2019 GBRC - Privateer entries until the end of next week!
2019 GBRC - Privateer entries until the end of next week!
Yes, the 2nd season of the Group B Rallycross is back!
Drivers:
Full time drivers have to be ficticional - guest drivers can be real life drivers, but have to be entered only in their home race (e.g. Ekstrom can only be entered in Sweden).
Cars and Teams:
Manufacturer teams from last year have the option to carry on for 2019 - rest of the manufacturers are available for the taking.
Teams can either be manufacturer or privateers:
Manufacturer teams have a maximum of 4 cars per weekend, with 3 cars beeing full time and the other beeing a guest car. Privateer teams can have a maximum of 2 cars per weekend.
Only full season teams can score points for the teams championship, with only the full-time cars of each manufacturer team beeing available to score points. (guest drivers don't contribute for both championships)
Race Weekend:
Race weekends will be modified compared to 2018: we will have the same PQ system for every driver, with the top 24 going into the main heats. The rest of the drivers will go into the B-Division, to fight for the other 8 spots and for the B-Division points, Drivers will be split into heats of 8 drivers each, for both A-Division and B-Division.
In other words: Qualifying -> 24 advance -> Rest go to the B-Division -> 8 cars that go into the B-Division Final advance into the heats -> Quarter-Finals (4 heats of 8) -> Semi-Finals (2 heats of 8) -> B-Final -> A-Final
Points System:
Qualifying:
3 points for pole position
2 points for 2nd place
1 point for 3rd place
Quarter-Finals (for both A-Division and B-Division):
6 for 1st
4 for 2nd
2 for 3rd
1 for 4th
Semi-Finals (for both A-Division and B-Division):
8 for 1st
6 for 2nd
4 for 3rd
2 for 4th
1 for 5th
B-Final (for both A-Division and B-Division):
20 for 1st
15 for 2nd
12 for 3rd
10 for 4th
8 for 5th
6 for 6th
4 for 7th
2 for 8th
A-Final (for both A-Division and B-Division):
30 for 1st
25 for 2nd
20 for 3rd
15 for 4th
12 for 5th
10 for 6th
8 for 7th
6 for 8th
Fastest lap of each heat will get 1 point.
Manufacturer teams from last year have 72 hours to confirm their entries.

Re: 2019 Group B Rallycross Championship - Confirm your entr
As there's nothing Swedish on offer (come on, Volvo, you know you want to), Larsen Racing System wishes to enter Rallycross running the Opel works team. Otherwise, we'd like to enter as privateers anyway.

Usually I'm not a fan of taking the first offer that comes along, but the RS200 is clearly a good car, so....sold.

22yo Frenchman Jean-Philippe Fournier who has previously raced only in French national events is interested in this seat as he looks to graduate to the global stage.

For people looking for drivers:
I advise you all to check last year's RoR topic and this years Free Agent topic for free drivers - there were a couple of free agents there who did rallycross.

As there seems to be no other rallycross drivers currently employable, Opel by Larsen Racing System are offering the #40 seat to Fournier (the 'employ someone young and French' approach works for Citroen, so why not us?). It's not Citroen, but it is a seat in a manufacturer team.

Fournier is happy to take the seat and determined to prove that experience isn't everything.

Japanese driver Kazuchika Hatanaka is looking for a drive in the championship this season. He only did one round last season, but he took a third place in the B-Final.

Albatross would like to offer the #37 to Hatanaka. He seems promising based on his result last season, and also has experience with the MR2s we'll be fielding this season.
