That is a very interesting thread and definitely worth a read.
I met Peter Elleray at Le Mans in 2003 and he was a great bloke. I've worked with Ian Dawson and a couple of mechanics who used to be with Pacific.

Glad that some enjoyment has been gleaned from this - I was rapt when I first read that forum thread. Can you imagine McLaren or Ferrari leaving a door open at the factory for months at time? 
Man, I miss those days of F1 so much. No way can the Lotus, Virgin, US Farce1 etc teams of today come close to that level of amateur appeal.

Good poitn. Though I'd say they'll just fade into the list of other terrible efforts to make it to the F1 grid without ever actually making it. I was thinking more of the small "amateur" squads going up against the established F1 teams in the races having made the leap from F3000 and so on the way Pacific and Forti did. USF1 is just a bad joke getting worse every day.
