An old track that I forgot to post here.

I really shouldn't be designing tracks at 3 at morning

Sorry for the double post, but here are some other tracks:

Singapore (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6474523)

An airport circuit near Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6474536)

Lisboa (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6474529)

...and a rejectful Birmingham Superprix track (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6474533)

EDIT: The airport circuit's link doesn't work. I saved it two times and neither of the links worked correctly, so I'll upload a picture of it here: Image

Here's what I'd have done with Sochi, as Rob's Sochi wasn't good enough! :P (Rob, it was okay, but too micky mousy and too like the current circuit.

Because of the bad reception this circuit (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6499737) got, I decided to redesign the track and fix the problems (too many 90-degree corners etc.) and came up with this: (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6502021)

The track is very simple; basically only straights, fast corners and two hairpins. As 4 of the straights are over a kilometer long, it is really fast. The start-finish line is at the 4th mile marker.

It's like the old Hockenheimring (minus the stadium) but with all different types of corners. It's great. If you had submitted this in the first place, you would've been third.

Abu Dhabi:

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/m/?r=6505312&rf=1

I tried to recreate it with some of Tilke's comments in mind - that a client wants to be able to drive at top speed. As much as the circuit is built for a Grand Prix, the Grand Prix (and support events) use it for three days in a year. For the other three hundred and sixty-two, it will be sitting unused unless the owners can find someone to hire it, and for that, they're on their own. Even if they were getting the Grand Prix for free, they have still invested hundreds of millions of dollars in the circuit. Naturally, track days will be a source of income, and track day enthusiasts will want to push their cars to the limit.

My attempt at a redesign of Mexico City, trying to keep as much of the original character of the track as possible, while still complying with modern safety standards. I put a slow corner before Peraltada, which should change its character to comething similar to Sochi's Turn 3. With the highway just behind Peraltada, keeping the original flat-out corner should be difficult.

I guess we're moving the pits further along?

Not too bad a design, but you could just claim that SAFER barriers will be installed on the outside wall of the Peraltada, so you can keep the corner intact.

AM I the only one who can't do gmap pedometer routes on the computer here? For some reason, the website won't let me start any routes, and the scale marker doesn't appear as well. For some reason though, I can still make tracks on my iPod. Does anyone have any solutions for this, or will I just have to deal with it?

It might depend on the browser, preferences, or the computer itself, but personally I have never had any such difficulties with a similar situation. As far as I'm aware, there isn't a little button that clicks the graphic away...

If you click on any of other people's links to Gmaps Pedometer above, you'll see the following box on the left of the screen:

Image

If this is what you see when you go on, then you initially need to click on "Clear points and start over." Then, where it says "Recording..." above, it will now say "Start recording." You need to click this first, then it ought to work. If you go directly to the website, the "Start recording" button will already be there. You will still then need to click this first, then you'll be able to get going (once you've zoomed in to where you wish to start).

Is this of any help?

Eh, why not?

These circuits that I've made are not designed for any existing racing series today, but they are rather based off of circuits from the 1990's anime series Future GPX Cyber Formula. The tracks aren't too crazy, but some of them have really fast banked corners. If you want crazier tracks, check out the original series, as it includes split sections of tracks and offroads sections as well.

Thought i'd have a go

Image

To get an idea of elevation changes:
-Downhill from 1 to 5
-Turns 8 to 11 are uphill (bit like eau rouge), this also means the straight between 6 and 7 will have a blind crest
-Straight between turns 12 and 13 has a 'dip' in it

DRS zones can be on any 2 of the 3 straights.

Apologies if it has already been covered on this thread, but why not a race on Treasure Island in San Francisco. There are plenty of concrete areas which can be used as extra track/runoff, plus there will be a great view of SF. The only issue would be access (only one entrance). Here's one possible layout:

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6590081

As you can see, very few (if any) buildings will need to come down, and there is plenty of space for a pit area. You lot should give it a go because i'm sure you can do better than mine. :P

A 4.3km street circuit in Brindisi, Italy. I tried to style it kind of like Monaco (a lot of the course is metres away from the port), except without a lot of the glamour. The pits run from the final kink to just after the first corner. There isn't much paddock room, though.
