autorejectgti.com wrote:Rob Lomas Jr banned for a round
After a long night watching the videos of the incident between Manuarii Vahirua and Rob Lomas Jr at Road Gatineau, the AutoReject GTi stewards have taken a decision. Rob Lomas Jr will be banned for a round and five seconds have been added to his race time. With that penalty, he loses his second place and gets classified sixth. M.Vahirua, T.Voeckler, J.Turner and J.Söderström all gain a spot in the final results. "We just can't let drivers act like this on the track." said a spokesman. "Rob Lomas Jr has already done that to Jonas Söderström in France. We then thought he had lost braking power, but now he did it again. We seriously think he did it on purpose today, he needs to sit out for a round and calm down. He told us he was brake tested, and we know it clearly wasn't the case. He did not help his cause there." Rob Lomas Jr will miss the AR GTi Round of the United States at Watkins Glen. Shir Rostami, the iranian rookie, will be his replacement.

2017 AutoReject GTi Round of the United Stats - Watkins Glen
Race Results
The drivers were really cautious today, so the Curva do lel had no effect on this race.
Positive points :
Scuderia Vittore : Domination, for a 1-2.
Cecep Sugiharto : For getting back on the podium, despite the two Scuderia Vittore cars ahead.
Jack Connolly : Certainly not a fast guy, but he did good today. Was running last for a while and finished 14th.
Daisuke Yanagawa : A decent showing, even if he didn't have the pace to reach Soderstrom's battle against Sugiharto
Jonas Soderstrom : Too bad he ruined his tyres while following Sugiharto, he had a foot on the podium, but he couldn't defend it.
Shane Atkinson and Elisa Jama Yattae : For that top 10
Negative points :
Timothée Voeckler : He decided he was fed up with getting stuck in the midfield, and gave up.
The race itself : The drivers were too cautious, leading to easy passes or no passes at all.
Penalty standings :
Zaituni DIleita : 10 points (Austria : 10)
Cecep Sugiharto : 4 points (Austria : 4)
Kaitlyn Harris : 4 points (Austria : 4)
Rob Lomas Jr : 4 points (France : 4)
@roblomas52 : Rob Lomas Jr has now served his race ban and is able to return to race in the series.

Re: 2017 AutoReject GTi - Watkins Glen race up !
With only three rounds left this season, I think it's a good time to start preparing 2018.
The major question is "Which car will be used for 2018?". There are several cars on the list, however only one can be selected. Only one ? Why ? Simply because it doesn't make sense for a junior series to have different models with different performances, being a single make series puts all the drivers on an equal level.
The car list is :
- Volkswagen Lupo (For a third year)
- Volkswagen Scirocco
- Renault Super Clio
- BMW 320si
- Chevrolet Cruze or Lacetti
- Lada 110s
- Seat Leon TFSI / TDI
- Volvo C30
- Other (Please give a link to the car mod in your reply)
You can vote for two cars, or vote twice for the same one, but I repeat : Only one will make it to the 2018 season.
Most of the listed cars are from WTCC, but since it technically didn't exist in the canon, I guess AR GTi can use one of them.
The Scirocco and Super Clio mods are currently untested.

I thought the Lada would have been really popular, but it's not the case at all.
A few days ago, my choice was set on the 110s but then I thought it would be better to ask people what they actually want... And the Seat Leon is clearly ahead, with a net advantage for the TDI version.

4ex. Volkswagen Lupo : 2
4ex. Volvo C30 : 2
4ex. Lada 110s : 2

2017 AutoReject GTi Round of Germany - Eurospeedway Lausitzring Sprint
Race Results
Michela Martin has been given a 5 seconds penalty and 4 penalty points on her licence for colliding into the back of Rob Lomas Jr's car, giving him a taste of his own medicine. Stewards came to the conclusion that the collision was avoidable but not deliberate.
Martin gets classified 11th. Tadayoshi, de Teodoro and Honmei all move up by a position.
Positive points :
James Turner : Has his eyes focused on the championship. Led from start to flag and kept Sugiharto at bay.
Cecep Sugiharto : For trying to keep his title chances alive.
Sandra Cessler : A decent first race. It could have been better as she ran in third position for about 27 laps. It could also have been worse as she was right behind Sugiharto when she outbraked herself and nearly rear-ended the indonesian at Turn 1. Ended up on the grass, allowing Vahirua to pass her without any trouble.
Manuarii Vahirua : It was one of these races where he becomes great.
Matsuo Tadayoshi and Lee Honmei : An unexpected top 10.
Jack Connolly : Beat his team mate Yanagawa on merit.
Zaituni Dileita : Best result of the season for her. Unspectacular race for her, but it doesn't matter when you finish in the top 5.
Negative points :
Michela Martin : For that move on Rob Lomas Jr.
Daisuke Yanagawa : Was absolutely nowhere this weekend, couldn't pass his team mate and finally made a mistake to finish in a very very very low 19th.
Pedro Renales : A slow start, Sugiharto gets in second position before Turn 1, he tried to follow him but chokes and finishes the second lap in sixth position. He wasn't fast enough today.
Penalty standings :
Zaituni DIleita : 10 points (Austria : 10)
Cecep Sugiharto : 4 points (Austria : 4)
Kaitlyn Harris : 4 points (Austria : 4)
Rob Lomas Jr : 4 points (France : 4)

2017 AutoReject GTi Round of Belgium - Spa Francorchamps
Race Results
A quite good race to be honest, everybody was trying hard to overtake.
Penalty report : Romain Hadamard has been given a 5 seconds penalty for colliding into the back of Lee Honmei's car, forcing him to go wide as Hadamard took an advantage of this to overtake. He has also been given a 10 points penalty on his licence, 4 for the collision and 6 for several actions of unsportive defending.
Hadamard is now classified 8th. Michela Martin, Elisa Jama Yattae and Manuarii Vahirua all move up by a position in the race results.
Positive points :
Pedro Renales : Just like at Watkins Glen, won the race with his ability and intelligence.
Lee Honmei : Winning his race long battle for fourth place against Hadamard, and running quite good again today.
Romain Hadamard : Too bad he had to get that penalty, a good race from him though.
Sandra Cessler : Second race, first podium and led the race.
Elisa Jama Yattae : What a race from the Kenyan ! She taught a lesson to pretty much everybody today. 14 positions gained in the race !
Negative points :
James Turner : He was just that anonymous and scored Scuderia Vittore's lowest finish position this season.
Daisuke Yanagawa : Nowhere today, again...
Zaituni Dileita : From hero in Germany, to zero in Belgium.
Timothée Voeckler : Went backwards.
Penalty standings :
Zaituni DIleita : 10 points (Austria : 10)
Romain Hadamard : 10 points (Belgium : 10)
Cecep Sugiharto : 4 points (Austria : 4)
Kaitlyn Harris : 4 points (Austria : 4)
Rob Lomas Jr : 4 points (France : 4)
Michela Martin : 4 points (Germany : 4)

Race Results
Nevermind positions 21st and 22nd, these are the Restov Racing cars, they were booted out of quali sessions since the team withdrawn from all racing series.
Positive points :
Michela Martin : Awesome start, great control.
Sandra Cessler : The only one able to worry Martin, too bad she was slow on the throtle, twice.
Zaituni Dileita : Would have had 5th if she didn't outbrake herself.
Cecep Sugiharto : He was going for it after a while, but it was too late.
Meh points :
Pedro Renales : He outbraked himself twice, everytime on the same corner. Choked the lead away early in the race, but it doesn't matter, he's champion.
Manuarii Vahirua : Quiet but decent top 5, but he completely messed up at the start as he was on the first row.
Negative points :
James Turner : His last two races were not brilliant, and this is how he loses the championship.

Really enjoyed this season, would it be possible to expand to two cars for next season

There could be a possibility indeed. It will be clearer when we see which teams are (or are not) coming back next season. Restov is already out since Takagi left the PMMF.
On other news, the vote results (finally) :
1. Seat Leon : 9
2. Volvo C30 : 8
3. Volkswagen Lupo : 6
4. Renault SuperClio : 5
5. Volkswagen Scirocco : 4
6ex. Fiat 595 Abarth : 2
6ex. Lada 110 : 2
7. BMW 320si : 1
NC : Chevrolet Cruze and Lacetti : 0
Despite a late push for the Volvo C30, the Seat Leon stayed ahead. The Leon will be the AR GTi car for next year, if troubles happen, the Volvo C30 could take its spot.

Re: 2017 AutoReject GTi - And the champion is ...
With the season done and the forums back, you can start to confirm your participation in the 2018 Seat Leon Supercup (formerly known as Lupo GTi Championship / AR GTi) if you wish to keep going in the series. If some spots open up for next year, priority will be given to one car teams wishing to run two cars, and then to people on the waiting list. Do not worry, you still have time to decide about your drivers.
If you are unsure about your drivers' future in the series, if he should leave/stay or something, do not be afraid to ask me via e-mail/pm on the chatroom, and I will do my best to tell you everything you should know about your drivers. Please keep in mind that I'm talking about drivers who competed in the 2017 AutoReject GTi season and not about guys/gals coming from another series or complete rookies.
