If your series is interesting, you will gain fans. The series with the most fans at the end of each season will be the Series of the Year, and will have more credits than the second etc.

That's quite a thing to forget.
Anyway, "interesting"? Success ballast! Double points at Ring Djursland! Ramps on the tracks! Fan vote for extra boost button!

Re: Series manager
It's been well over a month now. This ain't gonna happen, is it?
At this rate, it'll be a long wait for another three entries...
And you still haven't told us how this is going to work, what we are going to have to do to take part in this!
How do we gain fans? What kind of things do we spend credits on? How did you decide how many credits that we start with? Do we choose which teams drivers and tracks our series has? Do we choose how many rounds and whether it's a summer or winter series? Does each race get simulated? Why/why not?
So many questions, absolutely no answers whatsoever!!!

Re: Series manager
Sorry, I've forgotten about this
You can choose how many races will be on the calendar. Because there will not be the same number of races in every series, I'll simulate this in 10 parts each season; yes, every race will get simulated, but I'll not post the results here. Also, there are no drivers and teams that are named: only "Driver One", "Team One", etc.
After each race, I'll decide if the race was "interesting" and use the RNG to decide the fan percentages.
I decided the starting credits for each series, to make them realistic.
You'll use the credits for different things: the cheaper ones won't get your series many fans.
Hope this helps
Also, looks like we'll not get any more entries, so let's move on:
Broadcasting deals:
Big: Costs 40 credits. More likely to get fans.
Small: Costs 20 credits. Less likely to get fans.
None: Free. Very unlikely to get fans.

Re: Series manager
Here's the complete list:Hermann95 wrote:Can you please tell us a bit mote in detail where we have to spend our credits?
1. Broadcasting deals
2. Circuit quality
3. Race organizing quality
4. How many drivers/teams want to enter (not on 1st season)
5. How good the drivers/teams are
Broadcasting deals are the most expensive ones.

Re: Series manager
It's sad that this series led to nowhere, because a game, where users are running series as opposed to teams has some potential in my opinion. But in my opinion, such a game it too complex to run it solely on RNGs. If W12 allows, I'd like to outline a rough "vision" of such a series manager:
- There are several tiers for series: Global (F1), International (NASCAR, WEC, DTM), National (BTCC, STCC), Regional (Small national series like BARC Formula Renault UK and such) and Club. Note that these tiers don't necessarily refer to locations the series races in, but also to its reach around the world.
- You can gain or lose public image with every race you run.
- But how do you run good races? It's shouldn't be enough to run competitive races, but also need a good TV package, good production crew and of course "stars and cars" that attract the fans. A little marketing can also help. To make it short: You'll be needing plenty of factors to determine if a race was "good".
- Obviously, a series can't sign teams and drivers on their own. Maybe they can approach teams to compete in their series, but it'll take plenty of convincing. But even if you get a team into your series, it doesn't have to mean that they send their best drivers into your series (Take Andretti Autosports for example, who compete in IndyCar, Indy Lights, Formula Atlantic and Star Mazda IIRC). You can basically only a good enviroment that attracts the teams.
That's a rough outline about how I'd imagine such a series. You don't have to follow them, but I thought I'd give some ideas on that matter.
