F1 Rejects Forum Ratings 2013 - R3 China

Post by Dan B »

I'm sure you guys know what to do.

Vettel: 6: Ok, so he finished fourth but honestly he didn't impress me much.
Webber: 2: Screwed over by his team again, but he drove around like a toolbag.
Red Bull: 1: Where to begin with this...first they put the wrong amount of fuel into Webber's car, then they fail to put on a wheel correctly and now they might be facing a suspension. Oh, and they botched Vettel's strategy as well. What is going on there?

Alonso: 10: Autosport said it best when they said his victory was commanding. Easily the best racer all day, and he needed that after the gaffe at Malaysia.
Massa: 6: He was fast at the beginning of the race and then dropped like a rock towards the end. What happened?
Ferrari: 9: Probably the best team out there today.

Button: 9: Drove that shoebox of a McLaren to 5th place, which is quite remarkable actually.
Perez: 4: Nevermind the collision with Raikkonen (I see that as a racing incident), but he was just anonymous.
McLaren: 7: Did what they could considering the car.

Raikkonen: 8: Gets 2 points docked off with the incident with Perez but otherwise a good race for him.
Grosjean: 5: Anonymous, but he got a point. I guess that's worth something.
Lotus: 8: Didn't see any issues with the team today.

Gutierrez: 1: Clearly there for the money; that crash was inexcusable.
Hulkenberg: 7: Kept pace with Vettel most of the day (and sped up from him!). However, dropped like a brick by the end of the race.
Sauber: 6: Nothing really spectacular honestly.

di Resta: 7: Might've had the 4th best car today; it looked quite quick and should've finished higher. That said he needs to shut up.
Sutil: 5: Knocked out by Gutierrez too early in the race to tell. Incident between him and di Resta was weird as well.
Force India: 6: See Sauber

Ricciardo: 8: For once actually had a good race; he needs to keep this up.
Vergne: 6: Might've been higher if Webber didn't spin him.
Toro Rosso: 7: Actually showed pace today; I'm impressed.

Maldonado: 4: Anonymous as ever.
Bottas: 4: Who?
Williams: 2: Crap all around.

Pic: 5: No way to really tell other than he finished.
Van de Garde: 4: Only shot I saw of him was him going very wide at the start.
Caterham: 3: This is sadly becoming typical of them; I know it's too early but I don't see them going on to 2014.

Bianchi: 7: Finished ahead of the backmarkers.
Chilton: 5: Finished ahead of the Caterhams.
Marussia: 5: They're starting to catch the Williamses, which is good.

Vettel - 8 - Somehow managed to make those soft tyres work for long than a lap. That deserves some praise.
Webber - 1 - What could go wrong, did go wrong.

Alonso - 10 - Unstoppable today.
Massa - 6 - Decent for the first stint, but anonymous for the rest of the afternoon.

Button - 9 - Dragged that awful McLaren all the way to 5th. Fantastic performance.
Perez - 1 - Was that Andy Neate in the car?

Raikkonen - 9 - Another great drive from the Iceman.
Grosjean - 4 - Very, very average.

Hamilton - 7 - Did the best he could.
Rosberg - 6 - It's 2012 all over again for him. No luck whatsoever.

Hulkenberg - 8 - Led the race, bossed Vettel for a while, but dropped off at the end
Gutierrez - 0 - How does I use brakes?

Di Resta - 7 - More points for the glass of milk
Sutil - 6 - Probably would have scored again if he wasn't rammed into retirement.

Maldonado - 4 - Kept out of trouble for once.
Bottas - 4 - S'alright.

Ricciardo - 9 - Fantastic performance for WESTERN AUSTRALIA'S DANIEL RICCIARDO!
Vergne - 6 - Could have scored if he hadn't collided with Webber.

Pic - 4 - Meh
VDG - 3 - Bah

Bianchi - 6 - A good run from him
Chilton - 6 - Ditto.

Rosberg: 5, DNF in last place without being terrible gets this
Hamilton: 9, pretty strong finish
Mercedes: 7, the median of the two

Hulkenberg: 8, a truly inspired run

Sauber: 8

di Resta: 9, could have been as high as 4th
Sutil: 5, for DNF similar to Rosberg
Force India: 7

Maldonado: 6
Bottas: 7
Williams: 2, A Marussia was within 10 seconds of both Williams cars.

Vergne: 6, pedestrian run for him

STR: 8

Pic: 8, about as good as one can get in a Caterham
Van der Garde: 7, didn't derp
Caterham: 3

Vettel: 6 Not a great weekend for him bad call with the tyres
Webber: 4 Unlucky with everything apart from the crash which was his fault
Red Bull: 1 Very bad weekend from there standards. Should have received a higher fine for the tyre issue

Alonso: 10. perfect drive was unbeatable today
Massa: 5 Great start but struggled with the tyres
Ferrari: 7 Good car but they need to get both the drivers into the high points

Button: 9 Fantastic drive from mr. smooth
Perez: 4 Poor driving again
McLaren: 5 Button is flattering the car

Raikkonen: 8 Poor start but improved afterwards. Impressive again
Grosjean: 4 Looking very average in a good car
Lotus: 7 A very good car. They need to sort out Grosjean though

Rosberg: 4 Funny how different 12 months can make
Hamilton: 7 showing his proper talent
Mercedes: 6, they need more race pace

Gutierrez: 1. Defiantly mr pay driver. Awful today
Hulkenberg: 7 Another very good race.
Sauber: 6 Gutierrez is costing them money now

di Resta: 7 Good driving again
Sutil: 3 another dnf. 0% fault again
Force India: 6 another unlucky day

Ricciardo: 8 Great driving and good points
Vergne: 4 Not often that a red bull wrecks your race but thats what happened
Toro Rosso: 6 Its looing like a quick car

Maldonado: 2 Well at least he finished but poor again
Bottas: 3 is beating his teammate at least
Williams: 1 - The car is awful. Go back to the 2012 one!

Pic: 3 Beat a Marussia. Only one though
Van de Garde: 2 Last again. Didn't show much again
Caterham: 2 I wonder what the odds are of them coming last in the constructors?

Bianchi: 7 Again a great drive
Chilton: 4 Bianchi is making him looking very average
Marussia: 6 Either Bianchi is outperforming the car or Chilton is under-performing the car. I Think its the latter

Vettel - 9: One of "those" drives again. At least he didn't get a podium this time.
Webber - 5: Awful luck all weekend. Aside from his collision, he was doing quite well. Until Red Bull screwed him.

Button - 10: Made those tire last an unbelievably long time.
Perez - 4: To quote David Hobbs. "A moving chicane!"

Alonso - 10: On fire all race!
Massa - 6: Did well at first, but dropped back.

Raikkonen - 9: Nice climb up after a bad start.
Grosjean - 6: Didn't crash. But could have done better.

Rosberg - 5: Did alright. But his car let him down.
Hamilton - 9: Just holds of "The finger".

Hulkenberg - 8: Lead for a bit, and was in contention for a podium. But lost his edge near the end.
Gutierrez - 1: That was a pay driver's drive!

Di Resta - 7: Solid run.
Sutil - 6: Was also solid until Gutierrez messed it up for him.

Maldonado - 4: Didn't crash. But slow.
Bottas - 5: Slow. But finished ahead of his teammate again.

Vergne - 5: Could have done better.
Ricciardo - 8: Nice solid drive all race!

Pic - 4: Slow.
Van Der Garde - 3: Slower.

Bianchi - 7: The next Pierluigi Martini? Only time will tell.
Chilton - 5: Meh.

Vettel 8 - I don't think the RBR was really on the pace this weekend, so 4th is a good result, and provided some late-race drama.
Webber 4 - Would have been interesting to see how his strategy played out (he was in Rosberg territory IIRC) before his clumsy collision with Vergne. Awful weekend.

Alonso 10 - Flawless. He seemed a bit more efficient than Raikkonen or Hamilton in cutting through the traffic, which gave him a good lead he would never really lose.
Massa 5 - Unlucky with the first stops, but to end up 40 seconds down is a poor effort.

Button 9 - The Tyre Whisperer cometh. 5th the best he could realistically hope for.
Perez 4 - A bit messy. Criticised for his weaving and 30 seconds down on Button.

Raikkonen 9 - Aside from the poor start and what I felt was a slightly optimistic move on Perez, a great race. Did well to fend off Hamilton despite missing some downforce.
Grosjean 4 - See 'Massa, F.' Clearly outperformed by Raikkonen.

Rosberg 6 - A little unlucky with mechanical problems this weekend. He'll be disappointed to only have 12 points on the board.
Hamilton 8 - Tried his best to fend off Alonso and Raikkonen, but another podium is a good result.

Hulkenberg 7 - What happened to him in the final stint? Having held off Vettel in the early stages, he seemed to fall away a lot.
Gutierrez 2 - Pretty dumb error. Struggling to impress so far.

Di Resta 8 - Solid drive to pick up more points for Force India.
Sutil 6 - Tricky to rate having been wiped out early on by Gutierrez. The incident with his teammate was a bit odd.

Maldonado 5 - Not much he can do in that car. At least he finished.
Bottas 6 - Seems to have the measure of Maldonado in the races, which is encouraging.

Vergne 5 - Nowhere near his teammate in qualifying, but I think he was seriously compromised by the incident with Webber.
Ricciardo 9 - Good timing to pick up your best-ever result in F1...

Pic 5 - Was he the Caterham in the way on the final lap? Other than that, anonymous.
Van der Garde 4 - Even more so.

Bianchi 7 - Only just lapped by Alonso. Good stuff.
Chilton 6 - Having missed all of FP2, he kept up with Bianchi reasonably well this time.

Vettel: 7 - Still don't understand his strategy, as he had the pace to be up there in qualy and he missed on a podium finish for being too afraid of the softs.
Webber: 3 - His entire weekend was an absolute disaster although he was only directly resposible of a (admittedly very dumb) crash.

Alonso: 10 - The race was his to lose and he won it.
Massa: 5 - Was a credible driver for like 6 laps. Then he got stuck behind Di Resta and everything went pitch-black for him.

Button: 9 - How did he manage to pull off a two stopper? And finish up there with that crapbox? Wow.
Pérez: 3 - Hello moving chicane. I know it's his first season at McLaren and his car is not the best thing ever but honestly.

Räikkönen: 9 - Could have been more threatening without that crash but that probably makes his pace even more impressive.
Grosjean: 5 - Going to give him a passing grade because he doesn't crash against anything that moves anymore- now we need him to race.

Rosberg: - Oh dear.
Hamilton: 8 - Great race, but the tires are his exceedingly weak point in comparison with the other top drivers. Great defending at the end.

Hülkenberg: 7 - Botched an otherwise amazing race by putting on the softs too early.
Gutiérrez: 1 - Someone please put a F1 driver on his car. Now.

Di Resta: 8 - Good race. The FI's have a great potential this year.
Sutil: - Poor dude.

Maldonado: 5 - See Grosjean.
Bottas: 6 - Beats the Reverend once again.

Vergne: 6 - Acceptable enough.
Ricciardo: 8 - Where did that come from?

Pic: 5 - Woo not last
Van der Garde: 4 - Awww dead last.

Bianchi: 7 - Very serious driver.
Chilton: 4 - Not as much.

Vettel - 6 (4th is all well and good, but apart from the last stint was fairly anonymous)
Webber - 5 (Was on course for points before hitting Vergne, so he wasn't too pathetic. Well within his right to try to make the pass on Vergne as well, considering how wide Vergne held the door open before slamming it shut)

Alonso - 9 (Excellent drive)
Massa - 6 (Where the hell was he?)

Button - 8 (Good drive in a crapbox)
Perez - 5 (Can't be blamed for the Raikkonen incident, but still poor)

Raikkonen - 8 (Considering the damaged front wing, an excellent effort)
Grosjean - 5 (He was in this race?)

Rosberg - 6 (Err, what happened again?)
Hamilton - 7 (A bit lucky to hold off Vettel, but still deserving of a podium)

Gutierrez - 1 (Is it me, or from a distance does the Sauber look like a Williams? Because I could have sworn Maldonado was the one who hit Sutil  )
Hulkenberg - 7 (Good drive early, before falling off a cliff)

Di Resta - 7 (Sadly, he did a good job)
Sutil - 5 (Was beating di Resta before Gutierrez used him as a brake. Probably because he shoved PDR off the track, but he was still in front  )

Maldonado - 4
Bottas - 4 (The pair of them were crap, Bottas slightly less so)

Vergne - 6 (A bit meh, collision with Webber didn't change much)
Ricciardo - 9 (Just needs to so it a bit more often)

Pic - 5
van der Garde - 4

Bianchi - 6 (Holy crap, he almost got the Williams!)
Chilton - 5

Vettel: 7, got the best result he could have hoped for
Webber: 3, His team didn't help but for THAT attempted overtake on Vergne, seriously?
Red Bull: 2, Team has seen better days

Alonso: 10, Once he got into the lead, he wasn't going to be caught
Massa: 6, Did his best to salvage something from losing so much during the first round of pitstops
Ferrari: 5, Called Massa in too late which bathplugged his race onwards.

Button: 10, What a drive! Managed a two stop strategy to perfection and finished best of the rest!
Perez: 3, struggling with the car and weaving in front of other drivers
McLaren: 6, they're getting there.... slowly

Raikkonen: 9, very good result considering his wing was midly damaged
Grosjean: 6, Racking up them points. Hopefully soon his car will be the same spec as Kimi's
Lotus: 7, Give Grosjean a same spec car as Kimi! Look like contenders for the WCC

Rosberg: 6, Good race until car problem saw him out of the race..
Hamilton: 9, Well deserved podium! Got the best out of the car!
Mercedes: 7, need to sort out reliability problems. Let's see if their performances tail off now...

Hulkenberg: 8, Good qualy effort again and leading on merit! Shame his strategy made

Marussia: 7, Keeping Caterham at bay! A better circuit may see them challenge the other teams!

Vettel - 9 - Made the best of the not favourable conditions he had in China
Webber - 1 - Poor sod, the world just keeps some people down

Alonso - 10 - Flawless drive and a very deserved win
Massa - 6 - He tends to disappear a bit once pitstops are on schedule, if he can turn that down, we might see good things from him.

Button - 8 - He was running quite well, knew when to fold them for maximised results; that's a rare skill
Perez - 3 - Poor lad really isn't helped by his McLaren, but he must do something with it

Raikkonen - 8 - Minus points for the start, but other than that a reasonable performance
Grosjean - 5 - It seems like the media have neutered him somewhat, but I think that it will be a matter of time until he regains his speed

Hamilton - 9 - Quite a good drive from him, given that it became quickly obvious that Mercedes would drop down the table quickly
Rosberg - 4 - Apparentely Mercedes-Benz is cursed to have one unlucky driver and Rosberg has learned well from Schumacher

Hulkenberg - 7 - Well, he led the race, but it didn't do him any good, now did it?
Gutierrez - 1 - Well, that accident was kind of avoidable

Di Resta - 7 - Reasonable job with a well-deserved points finish
Sutil - 5 - Not long enough on the track to impress

Maldonado - 5 - Was he on the race track?
Bottas - 5 - Didn't do much either, at least he finished in front of Maldonado

Ricciardo - 10 - Very good job, let's see if he can build up on it
Vergne - 6 - Quite unlucky

Pic - 8 - Kept Bianchi surprisingly honest all Sunday long
VDG - 4 - Hello? Anybody there?

Bianchi - 9 - Williams, he's coming for you n*gga!
Chilton - 4 - Ought to have beaten Pic in my humble opinion

Vettel: 5. Didn't impress me, really.
Webber: 2. Let's forget about his weekend.
Red Bull: 1. Red Bull proved they can't run a team well the past three weeks.

Alonso: 10. Deserved the win, even though a don't like him.
Massa: 5. Dropped like a stone in water.
Ferrari: 8. Is Ferrari ignoring Massa? The only good things that happen are on Alonso's side of the garage.

Button: 10. That crapbox of a car was driven splendidly.
Perez: 3. To quote David Hobbs, "a moving chicane."
McLaren: 5. The car is crap for their standards, and Perez can't perform well with it.

Rosberg: 4. His car suffers the reliability issues. Hmmm...
Hamilton: 9. Brilliant.
Mercedes: 8. Reliability is a problem. Otherwise, they're good.

Raikkonen: 9. With a broken wing, fantastic.
Grosjean: 5. Mediocre. He doesn't have the same spec car as Kimi? What a joke!
Lotus: 7. Give the drivers the same car, and you are contenders, Lotus.

Hulkenberg: 8. Great job. Leading a race again.
Guiterrez: 1. Sutil is not a brake. What a clumsy, rejectful error.
Sauber: 7. Get Guiterrez out. There are better drivers out there.

Di Resta: 9. Strategy screwed his race.
Sutil: 5. Good battle with teammate when Guiterrez f***** up.
Force India: 7. They are going the right direction.

Maldonado: 2. Crappy. Remember, Mal is the word for bad in Spanish.
Bottas: 4. Beat Maldonado.
Williams: 1. Total shite. It won't be long before they are backmarkers.

Vergne: 5, Rejectful closing of the door on Webber.
Ricciardo: 10. Fantastic. An STR in 7th.
Toro Rosso: 8. They're catching up to Sauber. And SFI.

Pic: 6. Beat a Marussia. Good job.
van der Garde: 3. SLOW
Caterham: 1. The car and drivers are crap. Bring back Heikki.

Chilton: 4. Beaten by Pic.
Bianchi: 8. Nearly got Williams. Deserves a better seat.
Marussia: 5. Catching up to Williams. Potential midfield team?
