I think you might mean Jean-Pierre Beltoise. But he was already unrejectified by then. Still, it was a brilliant drive from the dude. It was also his only career win, also BRM's last win as well.

He had scored a 4th place the previous year, so he had barely unrejectified.

I'm willing to bet against it on pure merit alone however. Simply because the Force India's about 8th best at most.

He's good at managing tyres. He's very good in the wet. He's very consistent with lap times. He's not crash happy.

Sorry but I can see it this year. Bahrain remember?

We're not denying he's a good driver, because he is. It's just that he's been saddled with some crappy machinery and will need luck to go his way to get any higher than about 8th on any given weekend.

Force India have been left well and truly behind Williams and Sauber but I still believe they can recover like last year. Di Resta might take advantage of it.

The field closes and suddenly the unrejectification criteria doesn't look that bad, in spite of reliability...

It's interesting isn't it? I've been thinking the same, that we've recently gone through a period of it being quite difficult to achieve unrejectification, especially last year where you could guarantee the top 5 would be Red Bull, McLaren and Alonso. It's lovely to see different teams able to realistically challenge for good points even though reliability is still very low. Taking yesterday's race for example, only Karthikeyan and Pic retired due to mechanical failure. Perez was out due to that botched stop, and Senna and Schumacher crashed out. Just a shame the back three teams still have no hope of scoring!

For all their crapness in qualifying, Caterham's race pace isn't actually that bad so, given some luck, they may be able to take a 9th or 10th somewhere, most likely somewhere like Canada where chaos is almost guaranteed.

The only chance could be a six cars race as Indianapolis 2005. ;)
I'm wondering how would it be a race with just Caterhams, Marussias and HRTs!

Of the three backmarkers, Caterham's race pace seems fairly competitive. It was nice to see Kovalainen running in P5 for a few laps during the first round of stops, and he wasn't getting mugged either. Their one-lap pace is still 2011-spec mind.

Yep. I think Perez is Ferrari's first choice to replace Massa mid-season, but Checo is too smart to just abandon ship at Sauber mid-season into a car he's never driven before, whereas I can see Bianchi jumping up and down at the chance to race in F1 for Ferrari. I could see him edging three 6th places before the season is out, the Ferrari isn't that bad at all, it can score good points easily. Wins? Not so much.
