Part of it might be down to the car basically looking like (and for the most part behaving like) a moving brink. Which makes you wonder how in the hell Alonso managed to get so much out of the wretched thing

Wasn't it a complete rush-job getting the car designed and built? Not surprising looking at it. Looks like they designed it with a ruler...

By the way, I do have my asbestos papaya shield at the ready.
I never thought I would see that referenced to on a F1 forum
F1 Deprivation is bad this winter...

Who said it had anything to do with F1 deprivation? I'd have posted that in April (before we're all completely crushed by another season of Vettel domination) if that'd been the time to think of it.
Had I got as far as the snake it'd have to have been more of a political joke, because I can't think of anyone in the F1 world who fits that description quite so well.
James Allen, on his favourite F1 engine of all time: "...the Life W12, I can't describe the noise to you, but imagine filling your dustbin with nuts and bolts, and then throwing it down the stairs, it was something akin to that!"

Yes, except Why? Why are they even bothering?!

I find the 98 Minardi to cluttered. In one of my books seeing all the great looking 98 cars e.g. McLaren, Arrows, Ferrari. I thought the Minardi looked too......"American" It may also need less silver
Careful now...
I like Minardi, And I like Shinji,Shinji.
However I don't care much for their 98 livery. Or their 2000 "Jordanish" livery.
I find there 2000 livery to be their worst, it reminds me of the Only fools and horses episode where Rodney ends up painting a take-away kitchen in fluorescent paint. I absolutely love the 1998 livery though, it really suited the shape and style of the cars at the time perfectly.

And the only engine they could find in time for it was a four year old Ford Cosworth design, which Minardi had been using since 1998!

It just looks... I think there's no other way to describe it... bland! I don't mean that it should be gaudy (like the fluorescent Minardi M02) but this... it's neither agressive (like Hispania F111) nor elegant (like McLaren with the distinctive chrome paint). It has no artistic values and had it not been a reject, I think I would forget about the existance of M16.
When Spyker put their hands on MF1, it got even worse...
Basically what they did is cover up Midland's colors with Dutch orange.

Yeah that Midland/Spyker was drab. But I think it's because Spyker just wanted orange to show who was now in charge. Their 2007 car was actually thought about and is a personal favourite.

Even the Honda?!
Yep. The RA108 was awful, I'll give you that, but the RA107 is brilliant.
I knew there must have been another fan of the RA107 out there, even if it was a rejectful piece of crap! I actually liked the livery they used in 2007, less so in 2008...

The 2007 Honda was ok

Not the worst, that goes to the 2009 Renault. That car was originally white, but they brought a baby along to puke all over it, and that's how you get the R29 livery.

Wasn't helped by the fact that the car had the design principles of an anvil. The 2007 and 2008 liveries weren't that much better either.
