No, you indeed aren't

In fact, I believe someone's answer would be Alberto Ascari.

Is there someone here born the same year as when Ferenc Szisz won the first ever GP, or the day HWNSNBM scored in the Minardi? Now that would be quite epic.

They'd be 105, or 7, so I'd say that's unlikely. Give it 5 years, 12 would be the youngest we'd get, probably.

I've been doing a different thing with the years: list every year and the corresponding F1 World Champion(s) who was (were) born that year to see which years were the greatest. Feel free to add champions from other series:

1906: Giuseppe Farina
1911: Juan Manuel Fangio
1918: Alberto Ascari
1926: Jack Brabham
1927: Phil Hill
1929: Mike Hawthorn and Graham Hill
1934: John Surtees
1936: Jim Clark and Denny Hulme
1939: Jackie Stewart
1940: Mario Andretti
1942: Jochen Rindt
1946: Emerson Fittipaldi and Alan Jones
1947: James Hunt
1948: Keke Rosberg
1949: Niki Lauda
1950: Jody Scheckter
1952: Nelson Piquet
1953: Nigel Mansell
1955: Alain Prost
1960: Ayrton Senna and Damon Hill
1968: Mika Häkkinen
1969: Michael Schumacher
1971: Jacques Villeneuve
1979: Kimi Räikkönen
1980: Jenson Button
1981: Fernando Alonso
1985: Lewis Hamilton
1987: Sebastian Vettel

No year has seen more than two champions, and the 1940s are the most successful era, with six world champions. Still, and mainly thanks to Michael Schumacher, the 1960s hold the biggest amount of titles, with 12 (although had Senna been born a few months earlier, the 1950s would have 13 and the 1960s only 9!).

The current crop are up to five titles so far -and they will be six by the end of the year.
Go home, Bernie Ecclestone!
