Re: The F1 Memes thread

http://qkme.me/3q8b89 I have no idea how to post images directly from Quickmeme, so here Quickmeme uses (.gif) format which isn't supported by the forum software. Re: Rejected from the word go?

There are too many F1 fans in the UK who are violently opposed to any effort to start a United States Formula 1 team. Rather than being “threatened” by the idea, they should be encouraging the effort, and the additional competition.being added to F1. I would encourage more competition in F1. We all...

Re: 2012 comment: Webber's best chance yet?

Has there been a driver who won their first championship in their tenth year in the sport? I know Jenson Button came close in 2009, in his ninth year, but I'm drawing a blank otherwise. Button was in his tenth season in 2009, he debuted in 2000. Yes, tenth season, but I was just counting the years....

Re: 2012 comment: Webber's best chance yet?

Has there been a driver who won their first championship in their tenth year in the sport? Mario Andretti. He competed from 1968-1972 and '74-'82, winning the championship in '78. Very true. It's a shame that his stint in '82 had to be in such tragic circumstances. He sure did rack up the years tho...

Like always, a fascinating read, so thanks for that. I know Jenson Button came close in 2009, in his ninth year, but I'm drawing a...

The amazing soundtrack that was composed, intertwined with the beautiful sounds of the 3.5L V10's and the V8's, and some really cool camerawork, makes it my most favourite of the season reviews. Also the commentary was stellar as well. I believe I shall go watch it again for the umpteenth time. It n...

Re: Why were Peugeot engines so crap?

The answer is simple: Peugeot only became an F1 engine supplier in 1994 because they decided to halt their Group C sportscar program. The engine that McLaren used in 1994 was just a modified version of the engine used int the Peugeot 905 as a matter of fact. They were never able to really develop a ...
