Re: Your favourite "Punch the air" moments in F1

Hill winning at Silverstone in 1994. A home race victory and the disqualification of his main rival - it was every thing an 8 year old Hill fan could have dreamed of!

Re: Renault to become Group Lotus-Renault

Becks used to sponsor Jaguar for a few years, and which reject team had Jagermeister and a fiery ornage red car for a race or two? Can't for the life of me remember! And Fosters sponsored the Lola-Haas team for a while, and of course was a big circuit sponsor for many years. I'll add Budweiser to t...

Re: Reject driver moves

Eddie Irvine to Jaguar in 2000. Admittedly as Stewart the team had done well in 1999, but from scoring 74 points in 1999 to 4 points in 2000 makes it look disasterous. Not to mention that 2000 was the year that Ferrari finally got it all right, I think anyone would have prefered to have been part of...

Re: Piquets win libel action

F1 has been deprived of the best of Nelsinho and it is to its detriment that his talent is now being demonstrated elsewhere. Oh yes. I think we can all agree that we have been deprived. Every time I see a car making an excursion over the grass or a driver being comprehensivly beaten by his team mat...

Re: The Worst Things Drivers Say

"The Team did a great job" etc While it's nice to give them credit it just sounds like awful pr-speak these days. Hamilton is the worst for this I reckon. Agreed, its one thing to say it but it just loses its meaning when its said at every post-race press conference. Why aren't things don...

Re: 9.9 on the richter scale?

It's not really the fault of the REST OF THE ENTIRE CIVILIZED WORLD that you Brits and especially the stupid americans persist with your illogical measurements. Granted, Americans are the worst offenders. Instead of the VERY logical Metric system where 10 of the lower unit is one bigger, they choos...

I have a feeling that a failed Ferrari engine may take the title away from Alonso, just as one handed the 2006 WDC to him. Is it posible for an engine to last the rest of the season?

I'm going to give reject of the race to Hispania for giving Yamamoto the drive for one race! One race! Way to undermine your drivers who already have to struggle at the back with a car that can't perform - no matter who is in it. As regard to the Alonso penalty debate: I am in favour of a rule chang...

I can remember a quote on Ukyo's retirement and his that said 'apparently tackling K2 with an ice-pick is easier than challenging Michael schumacher in a Minardi'. Evidently not.

This is surly going to be the greatest attempt at getting the 'Hall of Shame' updated. If Villenneuve does drive for Lotus in 2010, he has to be, at the least, tying with Alan Jones for bronze in the 'Hang up the Keys' award!

Re: No QADBAK.. Just Sauber.. like the old days :-)

Today is a sad day for F1 - as sad as the day that Toyota withdrew from the sport. Selling the team back to Peter Sauber is a mistake. This is a guy who has had his shot at F1 glory, he was even allowed to have his name adorn the names of the cars after BMW took over and still nothing to show for it...

I mean seriously, when hasn't there been controversy or a third driver snatching the title in situations when two teamies are equally fighting for the title (so that rules out 92 and 77) 1996? Hill vs Villeneuve was pretty straightforward. Although maybe in light of recent events, the final race sh...

Current points scoring system - If Bernie had had his way and the medals had been introduced at the start of 2009, Jensen Button would have been crowned world champion this weekend. Its a joke! I don't know if any of you have played/play Grand Prix Manager 2? Its pretty dated but good fun f1 manager sim, which has the option of messing around with the points system before you start your campaign, even points for pole and fastest lap. With the current system there is the problem that you ca...

As much as I'd love to see Hamilton vs Schumacher, I think that Ferrari will pick a driver that will alow Kimi a chance to resore himself to the driver he was in 2007. On the back of a second place and in an improving car, with the motivation of doing for the team and Filipe, I think that Kimi will ...

Of the current drivers, only Buemi, Nakajima and Sutil have never led a race. Nakajima has been running 2nd, Buemi and Sutil 4th at best so far. When did Piquet and Bourdais lead? I can imagine Piquet leading at Hockenheim during a round of pit stops or something, but Bourdais I'm struggling with.
