Anyone happen to see the slo-mo of Maldonado about 28 +/-1 mins from the end of FP2? There was a red laser-light dot under the front centre of the car, like you see on surveying stations for registering the position, just visible on the track surface. Anyone have a clue as to its purpose? Measuring ...

I always thought that the standardised engine/transmission mounting points were designed to facilitate this. So you could bolt a Ferrari engine into a Red Bull chassis (oh, Toro Rosso alreeady did that ;) )

It's remarkable how BE has made this a debate about it being a problem for the big teams to solve and not about something which he has the power and money to solve unilaterally, regardless of the supposed moans of CVC, etc.

The "little" teams just became Lotus, Force India and Sauber. We already marvel if and when they manage to score a point (with the honourable exception of FI); soon we will start to talk about them as "plucky perennial back-markers".... If it wasn't for a good engine and a good d...

Bianchi incurred a 5 second stop-go penalty. He was on a one-stop strategy. He changed tyres under the safety car so could not serve his penalty then (although he did but it cost him nothing). He wasn't stopping again so five seconds added to his race time. This is clever strategic thinking by the t...

Bringing active suspension back would be brilliant. Especialy if the emphasis on clever aero is reduced at the same time. The technology is directly relevant to road cars, unlike aero (I'm talking for grip, not slipperyness) and could perhaps mean we get rid of the awful DRS system.
