Re: Weird Things That Remind You Of F1: The Thread

Whenever I watch the movie "The Fly II", I take great notice that the main character's name is "Martin Brundle". It was made in 1989, that "other guy" was racing in F1 at the time. So it makes me wonder. "How'd you get your whole leg jammed in the sidepod?!" ...

Weird Things That Remind You Of F1: The Thread

This is a thread I thought of that's almost the reverse of the "F1-related things you do" thread. I wonder how many of us are reminded of Formula One by perfectly mundane things and occurrences, and what the oddest instances of them are. For example, I watch this anime review series on TGW...

Modern racing as a whole has a lot of bits that displease me. When I think about better racing series I've seen, I can only think about past eras and series that don't exist anymore.

That makes me feel so old.

And I HATE it.

So...seems like we're getting the turbos in 2013, and the 2012 IndyCar designs revealed thus far look shockingly goofy.

Is it time for fans to, like, just buy and download rFactor and create a Fantasy Mod to get both impressive cars and close racing? We can't have both? Really?

Re: Why is leaving the track not punished?

It's contextual. On today's tarmac-runoff-area-heavy circuits, especially if you have lots of aggressive drivers and blocking, somebody's going to leave the track and be in a position where they can rejoin the race without a second thought. Gaining ground and if the move appeared intentional are con...

Nothing like driving down a road and knowing that every single imperfection in the road can, and will, cause you to lose downforce or bottom out, so you're neve...
