Thanks for the replies. However, I'm still confused a bit. Obviously they're losing money, but is it all down to low attendance? If they just need more proper seating, they should be able to manage that. Unlike all the new tracks, they shouldn't have the enormous construction costs to offset because...

Spa Francorejects
There has been a lot of talk lately (with new races getting added to the calendar and others wanting races) about how Spa doesn't make money, is broke, yadda yadda yadda. What gives? It's the best track with the best racing and it's in the middle of a small continent with a wealthy population. How o...

Well, that was a quick and easily sorted thread. Now let the tangents begin... / Actually, I have a tangent I'd like to bring up. I thought you were unfairly raked over the coals with that earlier post by the way. A little bit of hypocrisy there. The tough thing about this kind of question is whether it makes sense logistically. In other words, is Texas the best place to put this thing? Also, is the date given to them the only...

This is actually quite a good topic and the diverse group of people on this board would make for a nice sampling of opinions on it. The bottom line is I have no idea if the money trickles down or if the cost delivers sufficient benefit. However, it's still good to talk about because most of the peop...

Tim, you hit the nail on the head. It really needs to be Jaime and Enoch. This is why some broadcaster needs to finance them. I don't know whether they'd be suited to live race commentary, but I know they would kick ass in a "Talk Soup"-type formula one TV or radio show. Why one of the sat...

Don Tirri, I hope you stick around. But is it really so odd that Seb has fallen out of favor here? Second, he beat Webber, one of the best-liked drivers by people a...

There's something to be said for witnessing an historic season. If you follow golf, it's like Tiger Woods' 2000 season. The inevitability of his wins was offset by seeing someone at the peak of performance. As long as the racing is decent, I can settle for an inevitable Vettel championship.

They'll do away with the white lines before making the penalties greater for crossing them (i.e. putting gravel or real grass back in). Yes drivers cross them all the time, but the cat is out of the bag. What sucks is I've seen drivers penalized for crossing some white lines, but not others. Evident...
