As a newcomer to the board I thought I'd suggest one not mentioned before - the 1989 Tyrrell after Jean Alesi joined the team, and they got Camel sponsorship on the rear of the car - it looked like someone had done a cut-and-shut job of the Tyrrell at the front and the Lotus of the era at the back. :)

Plus similar to Williamses just not "being" red (late 90s), Tyrrell's just weren't yellow were they? They were either dark blue, white, or some comination thereof (1983 apart)!

YES!

Liked this one, and thought that Brawn would be keeping the Canon sponsorship until the end of the season.

NO!

Obviously the drive by Jenson blinded my sight of what was actually on the car.

To continue the recent theme on this thread of cars from support series resembling t-shirts from the 1980s, I offer some photos from the races supporting SuperLeague at Brands last weekend:

The Benettons of this era were lovely! I used to have a lovely model of this one before I smashed it to bits as a youngster...

The last few Tyrells (especially the 1998 one) I though were actually quite nice, the white, grey and black worked quite well. Admittedly this 97 one isn't so great so I'll give you credit on including this one!

It was - Group C Sportscars, even though the majority were Spices. I was really looking forward to seeing the Sauber Mercedes and Silk Cut Jaguar when I realised that these were a SuperLeague support race but was sorely disappointed. Closest to the Jag was this that withdrew from the race early on (only about 11 started and 5 finished...):

Not clear I know, but didn't get many chances.
Other liveries that caught my eye:

I love the bright, bold colours of the Benetton and I love the simplicity, minimalism and distinctiveness of the Sauber.

...why do I see a hint of Andrea Moda in that C12's all-black scheme?
Some say he plans to put an S921 on the Goodwood 2012 run, and that he DOES know what Deletraz is doing.
All we know is...he's called Perry McCarthy!

...we'll never see an S921 at Goodwood, will we?

Both cars are very similar, not only by the paintwork, but also by the chassis design.

It was actually halfway to being one of the best liveries ever - if they'd just retained the 555 blue livery on the entire car it would have looked great.

I worked on this car in 2008. Fascinating car, some incredible details on that car. Unfortunately the championship and the races are not very exciting, as the drivers tend to be quite careful with the cars, even the ones who don't own the cars they race, as they are quite valuable (a good 962 with a good racing history is not far off half a million pounds) In over a year, we only ever had the turbo boost set to maximum twice and never for more than 3 laps. You really don't want to break anything on those cars, as spares are not exactly easy to come by.

Thanks. It is actually what I suspected. In the event programme, there were somewhere in the order of 30 or more entries listed, only 11 started, 10 completed the first lap, 5 or 6 finished the race and the gaps between each car were measured in laps. Of the Grand Prix loop. In a 1-hour race. But as I am sure I mentioned earlier, it's a shame that there were not more out on track, like the Silk Cut Jaguar that was being used to advertise this particular race.

I hope no F1 team tries for a livery like the Rebellion team tried in the LMS:

And the Matmut livery works fine on a Le Mans prototype but probably no on an F1 (the one on the left):

And this is just wrong:

Yeah, but I think that, like the Matmut livery, there are just some schemes that work on Le Mans prototypes that just wouldn't carry over to an F1 car. So :P to you.
