A backronym is treating a regular word or name as if it were already an acronym, even though it isn’t really. For example:

Fast, Exciting Racing? Rarely! Aerodynamics’s Rarely Innovative. (FERRARI)
Lots Of Laughter Afterwards (LOLA)
Ha! Anticipating Accelerating Slowly (HAAS)
Lots Of Trouble Using Speed (2010 LOTUS)
Prequalifying ‘Asn’t Caused Itching For Innovative Chassis (PACIFIC)
Simple In Maverick Technological Engineering Kraftwerk (SIMTEK)
Utter Sh*te F1 (USF1)
Faster Off Racing Tractors Instead (FORTI)
