1. Aston Martin. Suddenly looking like the team which showed up to Bahrain rather than the one in North America.

2. Unreliability. About time we had a healthy dose of it this year.

Aston Martin, how on earth they ve returned their early season form?

Lelrel. It's a shame the red flag was called and allowed even more starters. The prospect of only 14 drivers on track after the opening lap had me frothing at the mouth.

Aston Martin. Somehow, Aston Martin returned.

Sergio Perez. Somehow, didn't dump it. Somehow, actually finished a race in a perfectly ok, stopped overdriving and just took a decent 4th place (almost 3rd) and helped take a potential runner up in the championship.

Aston Martin - 3rd and 5th out of absolutely nowhere

Belgium - A strong 1-2 finish for F1's leading nation

That finish for the final podium position between Perez and Alonso.

1-that final lap- Now that was something!!! Fernando showing why he is still one of the best in the business!!
2- Alpine- Well they acted Smart for once!!

Aston Martin: Amazing qualifying, followed by a great race. I expected them to fall down to the lower top ten positions, but Alonso had a great fight with Pérez, not only managing to keep him behind but also overtaking him again after losing the position. And Stroll had his best weekend of the year to complete the team's second biggest points haul of 2023.

1) Aston Martin: Actually looked a lot better today, especially Alonso's gallant drive to a podium.

2) The Perez/Alonso duel: Wow, that was a great bit of racing of the sort we don't see on the awful new oil state tracks. Take a hint, Liberty.

Aston Martin: That was more like the Aston Martin from Bahrain-Canada. Stroll put in his best weekend of the year (even though he got a higher finish in Australia) while the superlatives to describe Alonso have almost run out.

Tsunoda: Excellent pair of results from the Japanese driver including technically AlphaTauri’s best all year with the Sprint. I bet the Senior team loved him passing Hamilton to assist Perez for runner up spot.

Deffo Aston Martin (the team as a whole) - Alonso showed some brilliant intelligence in battle with Checo, and even Stroll was much closer to his team leader than early in the year - good all-round. Though it's probably too late to do anything about McLaren for 4th overall.

Alonso in the Aston Martin - that was marvelous stuff

Aston Martin - Solid qualifying. Didn't have the best start off the line but Alonso had great pace and done an amazing job to get a podium just ahead of Checo. Stroll had great pace too. A better pitstop (4.3 seconds) and he would have been closer to Alonso. But he easily dealt with Sainz

Aston, lelrel, and Tsunoda.

1. Aston martin: The car seemed back on form this weekend. Maybe it's a fluke, but it treated us to a great battle with Alonso and Perex

2. Lando Norris: Maybe a bit unfair of me to place something so obvious in. but I think this was his breakthrough drive. We've seen Lando's brilliance many times before, but this weekend he was the only other car that was in Verstappen's time zone, and was close on pace all race.

1) Aston Martin - Truly great return, could spice things up again for the last two races.

2) Albon's tyre - not often you see something hit two cars and still roll while cut in half

Alonso passed a Red Bull on the last lap for a podium position.

I wonder if it is really a case of Aston Martin taking an upturn in form, or rather most other teams underperforming?

Part of it seems to have been down to the sprint race resulting in other teams being unable to set their cars up fully, and part of it seems to be that Mercedes and Ferrari, having been disqualified in Austin, were rumoured to have gone for very conservative ride height settings (although it appears that the FIA hasn't checked any cars for excessive plank wear since Austin).

Lance Stroll. Qualifying 3rd and finishing 5th certainly would've counted as infinitely improbable pre-race in my eyes.
