Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Belgium 2023

1. Yuki Tsunoda. Hauled that boat of a car to a points finish it didn't deserve, all while crushing his new team mate. A nice job done well.

2. Oscar Piastri. Purely for his performance in the Sprint Race yesterday, completely vindicating his decision to leave Alpine in the lurch this time last year.

Tsunoda.

Tsunoda. I think he's outperforming that car. 9th was actually a little bit of a disappointment vs. where he ran early in the race, but he still made light work of Riccy.

Norris. Really an honourable mention rather than an actual nomination, but came home 7th despite having some sort of issue with his car in the first stint (think Croft said steering related) and running half the race distance on a set of softs.

Yuki Tsunoda: A point for AlphaTauri is always an impressive achievement, deserved an even better result.

Honorable mention to Aston Martin for being higher than I expected with both drivers.

Albon overtook 170 different drivers today, which was quite impressive.

Max's banter radio messages showed he at least has a sense of humour under the evil villain exterior.

McLaren for beating Alpine on their day off.

Perez for leading convincingly until Max turned up. This is the kind of weekend he should be having as a #2 driver.

Tsunoda was the only really improbable driver outcome for me.

A race at Spa without an actual or virtual safety car was equally unexpected.

HMs for Norris for outperforming his setup and Russell for his tyre management.

Perez - Seems like he's finally gotten his groove back. Feels weird to nominate a Red Bull for finishing 2nd but here we are.

Leclerc - A quiet but solid podium drive. Hard to believe its only his 3rd podium this season.

Tsunoda - Had the measure of Dale and got points to boot!

The Crowd Walk - A good change of pace for the tired Grid Walk.

1-Yuki Tsunoda Kicked Dale's behind and did tons of overtakes- deserved more than 1 point. (ffs Max won driver of the day- Should have been Yuki)
2-Norris- clear wet weather set up by the team badly hindered him and yet still got points. Good drivers get points when the car is perfect. Great drivers overcome obstacles handed to them to get points.

HM- Oscar Piastri- Was have one hell of a weekend until Sainz ruined it all.
Hm- Russell For nearly half the race on the softs

Yuki Tsunoda is the only one really deserving it today in my opinion. Perhaps Alonso deserves a mention for beating a Mercedes on merit, but it's always a question of whether it's him or the car while Stroll is rather average.

1. Yuki
2. I'll say Nando - they were looking like 5th best team in Hungary but beat a Mercedes and a McLaren here

Probably not that surprising if Max probably also picked up a lot of votes for being half Belgian - whilst Norris and Stroll might also be half Belgian, if you're going to vote for a driver who is the closest to a "home" driver, it's going to be the one who's also the most successful who gets the votes.

Added to that, there are probably quite a few more individuals who are invested in Ricciardo's return to the grid than in success for Tsunoda - so, with that, it means efforts like that get largely overlooked.

1) Yuki Tsunoda: Actually managed to secure a point, while crushing Ricciardo in the process.

2) Oscar Piastri: While his actual race was spoilt by Sainz, his qualifying performance was good and he managed to hold on for a podium and a haul of points in the sprint race.

Banzai Yuki awesomu powa crashuuuuuuuuuu dewa arimasen!

Honourable mention to Gillian Anderson, who's clearly been giving Jamie Chadwick some helpful advice. Anyone who knows a thing or two about how The X-Files was filmed is well aware what I mean.

1: Jenzer Motorsport: For a first win in Formula 3 since 2019 and not only that but also claiming a 1-3-4 finish. Not bad for a team who’s usually propping up the rear in that series

2: Sophia Floresch: An amazing 7th place finish to become the first woman to score points in the F3 era and the first to do so for 6 years.

HM

Yuki Tsunoda: I guess he deserves a mention for dragging the AlphaTauri boat to a point whilst crushing his much hyped teammate in the process

My IIDOTR is Gianpiero Lambiase for his telling off of Max and shutting him down. It was entertaining

Also Yuki Tsunoda cause he did really well
