1) Albon for obvious reasons.
2) Bottas for finally having a good race.

1) Alexander Albon: A decent haul of points today, especially when his teammate was the first retiree.

2) Esteban Ocon: Battled right to the end for eighth, providing excitement in the face of another (inevitable?) Verstappen victory.

Seconded.

Honourable mention to Stroll for not needing Norris's penalty to get into the points.

Ferrari. Ran a great race to finish a solid 4th and 5th. Maximising the available points and defeating Perez.

It's not infinitely improbable, but this was probably the most impressed I've been with an Alonso that has been constantly and mightily impressive all year. He beat everyone but Max on merit and kept them behind even with lift and coast and a charging Hamilton. Considering Hamilton is still as good as he is, and is still in a Mercedes, Alonso is the only driver who still impresses me week in week out (other than, well, Max).

1- Albon- 7th Place in the 2nd worst car on the grid- Another one escaping the curse of Max.

2- Bottas- Points!! an improvment at last!!

Albon - 6 crucial points for Williams

Ferrari - Ferrari has had such an awful season that this is actually a pretty good result for them.

Honourable Mention to Bottas for a quiet but successful drive.

Martin Brundle: "Well, it's a fairly short debate, Murray".

Only 1 winner here

Albon: it really was both Australia and Belgium last year all over again, a mammoth tire stint like the former and some heroic defending like the latter. The end result was Williams’s first dry weather top 8 finish since Azerbaijan 2018.

Definitely Alexander Albon: Seventh in a Williams is an incredible result.

Only one nomination for IIDOTR this time around: Alex Albon. A solid finish to 7th, holding off a DRS train on a circuit that should never have allowed him to stay ahead as he did. I really hope Alex can lead Williams back to the midfield or better, because he has embarked on a long-term project with himself at the apex. Well done Alex, you're impressing everyone in that Williams.
