Calinetic, who saw their F1 entry purchased by Melrose Racing Team (MRT) at the end of the 2020 season - they still ran as Calinetic in 2021 - is currently part-owned by the team's founder, Joseph Calinetic, and former F1 team principal, Andrew Caine, who will take over team principal duties in ARWS as well. On the new partnership, Andrew Caine talks about an exciting future and about how Calinetic returning to ARWS made all the sense after they left F1. "Once Daniel [Melrose] purchased our entry in F1, we started to work a plan to return to a fully-fledged top flight series soon enough. We were interested in joining another championship, more regional, but then Miguel [Rocha] called us and talked big goals in front of us. We knew it was the right move from the start."

Avoiding on talking about drivers, a rumor floats around that former ARWS champion Terry Hawkin, who spent last year racing in F1 and has previously raced for Lotto Racing in ARWS, is a prime candidate to return to the series. Marko Jantscher, who has previously driven for Lotto in the 2020 aborted ARWS season, is also a candidate for one of the seats. Further candidates speculated are belgian youngster Simon Mestach and the young american prodigy, Riley Griffith, who is said to be looking at the AutoRejects ladder for 2023 as well.

The 2023 ARWS season will start next March at the Adelaide Street Circuit. It'll be the first of 18 races across the year.

Okie dokie, here goes then for the Foxdale Auto Racing Team

Chassis: Tier A, 600 credits, with an oval special upgrade package, 50 credits
Engine: Pure-Hart, 200 credits
Tyres: Dunlop, 100 credits
Drivers:
1st choice: Sabrina Mann, pay driver
2nd choice: Martin McFry, 100 credits

I know that comes to 1050 credits, but Sabrina Mann is likely to cover the shortfall, otherwise the oval package will have to go for now. Both drivers are offered 1 year contracts.

I notice Pippa Mann is retired from driving duties, so she will officially be the team principal at Foxdale alongside her brother Douglas.

Douglas will be the third choice driver if Foxdale is unable to secure either of their first two drivers.

The TBA ARC1 (AutoReject Chassis 1, and yes, the resemblance to Rial is fully intentional) will be:

a B-tier chassis (¤500)
powered by Honda (choice 1, ¤250), or Ford (choice 2, ¤250)
using Pirelli rubber (¤100, it's our first season so escaping Pre-Q is a must)

(which leaves ¤150 to spend on our drivers and other things, we'll get to that later)

Mark Dagnall can still be poached by F1 teams as well. All joint bids from both F1 and ARWS will be RNG'd together after an agreement with Klon was reached.

Deadline for engine / chassis / tyre bids is January 6th.

Bids after that will get a penalty (rushed development)

Dial-Up loses connection

Newcomer team to ARWS Dial-Up has failed to meet a series of payments to their suppliers and has reportedly folded. It's believed that the team's management invested a significant portion of the assets in cryptocurrency in a bid to have extra cash available for car development.

Unsurprisingly, when the Bitcoin crashed for the umpteenth time last month most of the investment was lost and the team was left with a couple screwdrivers and two tins to build the car.

Dial-Up representatives were not available for comment.

Kjellerup is thrown a lifeline

In shock news, Kjellerup announced their breakup with Ecurie Prenois yesterday. Not much said the statement, but is understood that Prenois was very late in the development of the car for the 2023 season, and it all fell appart quickly when the word started to spread that the car wouldn't be ready for Australia.

Commissioner Daniel Prieto, however, wants to keep the name in the sport and declared "Yeah, we will find a solution. We want Kjellerup. I've spoken to a couple people that can be ready to help". Mark Dagnall was subsequently spotted at Marseille Airport waiting for a flight to Munich.

It's understood that he could be ready for Kjellerup, after rejecting an offer from Euromotor

Kjellerup finds new partner in Bavaria

After their fallout with Ecurie Prenois, Kjellerup has found a technical partner in Germany, where they'll join former German F3 outfit CAT Racing. Apparently, CAT Racing has a car project that was stopped temporarily when they didn't find the resources to enter the series, but the car is anyway near completion and almost ready to go, certainly in time for the pre-season Jerez tests that will take part in two weeks time.

Details about the whole operation are yet to be announced but is understood that the team will be simply called "Team Kjellerup" and the chassis will have the name of the technical partner.

Team Bert Anzungolst officially reveal their challenger, the ARC1, for the 2023 ARWS season.

TBA has hired the relatively unknown Monika Flater*, said to have been hand-picked by Mr Anzungolst himself, and 2020 European F3 runner-up James Wilmington.
Prominently displayed are Wilmington's sponsors Wilmington Transport and Cargill, in addition to badges of suppliers Ford and Pirelli.
*This was posted in early 2023. For those reading in the future, at this point, Flater's prior career was not fully fleshed out and and has been treated as an unknown rookie heading into the big leagues for the first time.

Changes to Pre-Qualifying procedure:

In order to make Pre-Qualifying at the beginning of the season more fair to everyone;

The grid will be divided in two groups of teams; First group of teams will have to pre-qualify at rounds 1 and 3, second group at races 2 and 4; after round 4 the pre-qualifying teams will be re-shuffled every four races according to championship standings.
