Formula Manager 2000 - F1 driver bids

With interest in participating in the YDT very low, I will lower the YDT fee to only 50k, and multiple drivers can be brought there. Only one of your young drivers can have an F1 seat at a time, but them driving for you will increase their odds of signing for you in F2. The YDT will be complemented by a full-blown preseason test at Paul Ricard, with all expenses paid by the FIA.

I must have missed the announcement. Prost would certainly like to test Sarrazin, Bourdais, and because Aislabie keeps insisting, Walfisch.

Sarrazin already has a super license so he won’t come, but your YDT bids have been noted. Alternatively you can send Montagny

Then i will send Montagny yes. Ayari has a licence too already so he won't need to be there.

I have returned. Gonna give everyone until the 26th to adjust their bids. If nothing comes in from Bleu then Benetton's drivers become autopiloted. In case anyone didn't get the memo, we will be using Scrub-Era higher-choice RNG and you can only bid for a sponsor for one slot only. Unless edited, those extra bids will not be counted and you'll have an empty sponsor slot. If you end up with empty sponsor slots then too bad, you can't do anything about it.

I may have misunderstood something said on Discord a day or two back (so ignore this if it's irrelevant), but Ferrari would like to announce that its chief test and reserve driver will be Luca Badoer.

We would also like to get Flavio Briatore's grubby hands off of Sebastien Bourdais and put him as our number one junior talent for Astromega (F2rrari). We would also like to super happy reserve Justin Wilson alongside him.

Obviously for Bourdais the right choice would be to become junior driver for Prost and drive at Apomatox. Because if he doesn't he'd be a traitor to his country. But we are willing to let him get some experience at Ferrari before he goes on to a bigger team

Ferrari and Red Bull Sauber have reached an agreement together regarding Luca Badoer and engines.

Red Bull Sauber agree to run Luca Badoer as one of their drivers for this season. Badoer will remain reserve driver to Ferrari in case one of our drivers get sick or die or something.

Red Bull Sauber in turn get Ferrari customer engines (whatever the standard deal is) and Ferrari promise not to give Ferrari customers to any other team on the F1 grid this season.

British American Racing will be placing the following drivers at 555 Racing for the 2000 season, in addition to sending both to Jerez for the Young Drivers Test

22. Image Tomas Scheckter
23. Image Jenson Button

If either wins the Championship, we guarantee them a Formula One race seat for the following season.

Should we need to call on one of them as a reserve driver for the Formula One team, we will call upon whoever is ahead in the Formula 2 Championship at the time.

We would also like to approach Image Patrick Lemarié for the very important double-role of Formula One Test Driver and Formula Two Reserve Driver

The DAMS Williams academy team would like to offer

Mark Webber a drive for 2000, plus a YDT with Williams and the official test and reserve role at Williams.

The second seat (or first seat with the same bonus conditions as offered to Webber, if he declines) is offered to(in order of preference):
Luciano Burti
Enrique Bernoldi

Second car

If Montagny doesn't get a seat, he will get an offer to become first reserve should Ferrari need to call upon Bourdais, Ayari will become second reserve, and Derichebourg will get the offer to become the third reserve.

Red Bull Sauber confirm the deal with Ferrari and Luca Badoer.

Following the failures to sign any of the drivers, the team offered a 750k/1 year contract to David Coulthard.

Furthermore, Enrique Bernoldi will be sent to the YDT with aims to become the team's reserve driver, as well as running in F2 (F3000?) for the 2000 season for the Junior Team, with Ricardo Maurício set to take the second seat.

F2rrari (Astromega) would like to sign their young drivers Sebastien Bourdais and Justin Wilson for the upcoming F2 season.

Luca Badoer remains our reserve driver as per the agreement with Red Bull Sauber (I guess that makes Badoer our third young driver?). However, I am also not restricting Bourdais/Wilson from accepting other F1 drives, although obviously I would like to be consulted first. They are still very young and need experience, so focussing on F2 is their priority for me.

Jaguar-Ford will restrict the number of customer Fords packages available on the grid for 2000 to 2.

With pressure from our father company, we request that the year-old Cosworths are badged as Fords going forward, though teams are allowed to rename the engine for sponsorship reasons if required. The 2000-spec Cosworths used by Jaguar itself will remain badged as Cosworths.

Car development has begun. Please specify the tier for your car and bid for the engine(s) you want.
Also, it isn't too late to request upfront payments from your sponsors to get additional funding for your car (if you fail their objectives, you gotta pay them back)

Edit: And don't forget about the 500k entrance fee that must be paid before the season starts

*Prost will ask Yahoo to pay upfront as well and would like to remind T-minus of their promises :pantano:

*Prost will bid for Peugeot engines, with Supertec as plan B

If i count correctly, if Yahoo also pays upfront, we could afford a tier B chassis, but please confirm if i get 300K extra before you count this, if i don't, then get me a tier C and cancel the YDT entry.

Yes, Yahoo can and will give you 300k (they don't have any extra conditions, I must have missed that during the first budget update)
