Formula Manager 2000

Post by Forti »

In the world of F1, the 90's saw the emergence of legends such as Michael Schumacher and Mika Hakkinen, who are expected to duke it out for their third WDC in the new millennium, but also great progress in safety following the deaths of Senna and Ratzenberger. 2000 marks a rise in manufacturer teams. Honda have returned to the sport in full works capacity, and Stewart has been transformed into Jaguar following their purchase by Ford. There are murmurs in the paddock of Renault properly re-joining the field and even Toyota entering the world of F1.

The FIA have reformed F1's feeder series, Formula 3000. Now known as Formula 2 once more, teams are encouraged to run F2 teams and eventually sign their F2 drivers up to a race seat for their F1 team. In response to the lack of F1 success of F3000 champions and 1996 champ Jorg Muller not making it on the F1 grid at all, teams are given a small financial bonus for signing the reigning F2 champion, which in this case is Nick Heidfeld.

BAR and Prost have been taken already as agreed on in the Discord.

BAR announces F2 partnership

Arden International will be known as "555 Racing" as part of the new deal.

After a shocking 1999 season where rookie team British American Racing finished last of all teams, they have announced an expansion to their operations as Craig Pollock says that "BAR's goal to win World Championships remains unchanged". To that end, they have announced a partnership with Christian Horner's Arden International team that will see the Formula 2 outfit run as "555 Racing". This means that the British American Racing family will promote different BAT brands at each level of racing. Among those being spoken about as drivers are...

Ferrari would like to take on the Astromega team as our F2 equivalent, for the reason that it has the coolest name of the remaining teams.

Rumours that the Ferrari team plan to rename Astromega to F2rrari are unconfirmed.

In that case, sponsor bids can start now.
Up to 2 title sponsors, and 1 for each other type of deal. (you can bid for up to 4 title, and 3 for non-title)
Make sure to fulfill their objectives by season's end, or you may find yourself bankrupt.

Arrows' sponsor bids all in order of preference

Tier A
PIAA
PSN
Red Bull
Fondmetal

Yes, I am willing to throw away 31 years worth of glorious history (the 6 years or so they whored themselves out to Footwork notwithstanding) to rebrand Arrows as the glorious new Panamerican Fondmetal Arrows Racing if needs be. Fight me.

Tier B
Telefonica
Fondmetal
Mild Seven

Tier C
Repsol
Orange
European Aviation

Tier D
Red Bull
Worldcom
Lucent

Tier E
Tic-Tac
AGFA
Beta
And if none of the above three want to play ball with Mr Walkinshaw, Prince Malik has informed me that T-Minus are happy to take the Tier E spot if needs be.

Hopefully all of the above is in order!

Sponsors done, now onto the drivers. The sponsor and F1 driver RNG will be done together.
Unlicensed drivers can be hired for any position, but you can only have one at a time in your F1 team. F2 drivers to be done later.

Sauber

Driver 1:
Rubens Barrichello (650k / 2y)
Giancarlo Fisichella (550k / 2y)
Jarno Trulli (500k / 1y)
Olivier Panis (400k / 1y)

Driver 2:
Alex Wurz (250k / 1y)
Nick Heidfeld (300k / 2y)
Dario Franchitti (225k / 1y)
Pedro Diniz (PD / 1y)

Since all Red Bull junior drivers are not up to the task of competing in F1 yet, in case Sauber gets the Red Bull sponsorship, the team will be renamed to Red Bull and it will also take over the Red Bull Junior Team in F2.
