RejectSport wrote:AutoReject 3.5 rebrands as Auto2 Series
The AutoReject 3.5 category, the primary feeder series to the AutoReject World Series, will undergo a rebrand to the Auto2 Series name, ahead of the ARWS's projected return.
Following the 2020 hiatus, the AR3.5 squads on the entry list for that season will be invited to return, albeit with new teams expected to make the move into the rebranded category.
The series will debut a new car, with Jones Racing Group providing its new Jones 201 chassis to all teams participating in the championship, while Ford has produced a three-litre V8 engine - the XRA2 - based on technology from its ARWS powertrains. Initial power figures suggest that the XRA2 has an output of around 600bhp.
The Auto2 format will also undergo a change, with the 40-car entry lists discarded in place of a maximum of 26 cars.
The heat format will also depart, and instead the series will opt for two races at each venue - with two separate qualifying sessions for each race.
Okay folks, here's the situation. I'm picking this up as ARWS is currently in the works - I'll run it on GP2 for ease. Calendar and points format to be decided, pending the parent series' schedule.
Here's the teams that were down for 2020, minus those who are currently inactive. Please state any intentions of a return by the 15th November. If you don't have a team in the series, please indicate if you'd like one, and I'll add you to the reserve list.
All prospective drivers must be between 17-30 as of 1st January 2021, must be fictional, and have sufficient experience within the canon leagues. Drivers with no more than 16 ARWS/F1 entries will be permitted.
