Welcome to the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix Predicament Predictions round! After this race we're at the halfway mark and we get a break for a few weeks, thank goodness, so let's see how the championship will end up before that happens.

You all know the rules, and if you don't, just PM me, post in this thread, or consult the Bahrain Grand Prix thread for how to submit. For every race you'll get a blank slate to make your predictions on, and this week it looks like this:

This is what I'm expecting to happen. A nice feelgood comeback for Pérez going into the Summer break, and absolute disaster for Bottas. Oh and another embarrassing crash for Vettel I'm sure

So glad I didn't use my double points joker card at this round... and glad that when Mr Russell actually scored points in a Williams, I had him in my predictions.

And my race title seems rather... prescient now.

So as you all know, the Hungarian Grand Prix was a little unpredictable in nature. The result meant that the scores were unbelievably low, and so crazy that even I did well. Although no-one guessed Alpine for IIDOTR, I gave the Alonso suggestions half-marks for being basically correct. Otherwise there was nothing all too special other than to count the scores. So here they are!

Poor Londoner. Accepting the poisoned chalice, they won the Hungarian Grand Prix through double points, but unfortunately those double points came at the race where half the frontrunners were out on Lap 1 Turn 1. 14 points are slim pickings, and it may have serious implications for their championship hopes. They will need a good run in the second half of the championship.

Because the scoring was quite low all round, the results are that the standings are largely the same as they were when we went in. Aislabie holds their lead into the summer break. However, we still have more than half the season to go - another 12 races! - and all it takes is one slip for a front-runner to fall down the order.
