2020 Styrian Grand Prix – Predicament Predictions!
2020 Styrian Grand Prix – Predicament Predictions!
It's a double header, and at the same track. Will your predictions be the same this time round? Obviously the results aren't in from Sunday, but I should get them all published and released at the appropriate time. In the meantime, let's get voting in for THIS Sunday's race. Here's your blank slate:
Voting closes when FP3 ends on Saturday

How Far Back:
Reject of the Race - our race-by-race award for what was the most gloriously terrible thing during the race.
Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - the opposite, what was the feel-good result that we vote on?
Deadbeat Teammate of the Race - who was the most mathematically behind their teammate?
Number of Safety Cars - virtual ones don't count.
How Far Back - the person who finishes last, how many laps behind will they be?
You can also bag a bonus point for coming up with the funniest alternative race title. I'm the judge so I don't do it.
My predictions are as follows:
1. Valtteri Bottas
2. Max Verstappen
3. Alexander Albon
4. Carlos Sainz Jr.
5. Sergio Perez
6. Lando Norris
7. Lance Stroll

First retirement: Lewis Hamilton (basically the only retirement with overheating problems)
Reject of the Race: Lewis Hamilton (doesn't cover himself with glory over the radio or in interviews. Distracted and causes some kind of big controversy, then doesn't even finish and blames the team or something)
Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race: Valtteri Bottas (absolutely dominated)

Re: 2020 Styrian Grand Prix – Predicament Predictions!
I barely keep on top of how the Predicament Prediction points work, but I'll wager I didn't score too many - except that my predictions for second and third actually finished first and second, so that should probably count for something. Anyway,

My records of 2017 are patchy, but this is Enforcer's debut win if I'm not mistaken, after four seasons in the championship (since I've been running it). Congratulations, your hard work has finally paid off! EDIT: found that Enforcer did in fact win the 2017 Russian GP (with double points) and the 2017 Hungarian GP (joint with two others). So this is in fact their first win outright without double points!
And so, that concludes our original run of the 2020 Predicament Predictions Championship. The standings for the season are as follows:

So from now on, I'm going to count up the temporary forum results in a separate thread. Watch this space, those who took part, your efforts shall not be in vain!

Coming out of nowhere, Francis23 has come first after our first three official Forum rounds of the championship are over. And they won it despite missing Australia! While it remains officially unofficial, Francis23 is our unofficial winner of the 2020 season. Good job!
So from now on, I'm going to count up the temporary forum results in a separate thread. Watch this space, those who took part, your efforts shall not be in vain!
See you all in 2021

There's all to play for!dr-baker wrote:As the 2019 season podium finisher, I did awful. I've got a funny feeling that I'm guaranteed a podium position there as a minimum!
