Grand Prix Rejects

A fact not known to humans is is that the consumption of the fruit of knowledge of good and evil by Adam has shaken the very foundation set by god. Every once in a while (on a historical scale) the universe multiplies and a parallel universe is established. These universes are intangible to human science and human knowledge, only the LORD can see them and influence them. However, 11 prophets from each universe recently received a message from the LORD.

The Message of the Angels wrote:He has learned to his dismay that the parallel universes that do exist threaten each other's stability. In His infinite wisdom, He has forseen that only one universe may exist or else all universes will be lost. As the angels' chorus sang "DELETE! DELETE! DELETE!", the LORD, in His infinite mercy, decided to allow each of the 11 universes to send champions to do battle in the only war that pleases the LORD: the war of high-speed automated vehicles. And thus, He recreated arenas of war in the gap between dimensions. Listen well, prophet, for the message of the LORD is: "Let's go to the track day, bro". You may take seven of the finest racers of your universe to the Holy Mountain. In His infinite mercy, the LORD decided to create a fair battleground, for all racers shall use the only car that pleases the LORD: the Mazda MX-5 Miata. You have a fortnight to prepare for the war.

As you can see, this is a bit of a left-field idea with a premise stolen from Dragon Ball ... still, I hope we will have fun with this.

Your task is pretty simple. You pick a universe and you will be given a list of seven of its finest champions. After a test race amongst those members of your universe, you will pick three drivers each for each race. The average race time of your drivers will be determined and the slowest universe at the end of the race is deleted until after 10 races, only one universe remains.

So pick your universe and get things going.
