I'll update budgets when I have a minute, and press on with things after the Azerbaijan GP. Sound okay?

I'd be fine with it, though NAF4 may need to change its calendar again to match more with Indycar :D

Good to have you back and I look forward to seeing season 2 of this series!

Okay, so, if I could ask our current crop of team managers to check in, and then I'll get the ball rolling on driver signings next week.

Furthermore, I'd also like people interested in running Indy 500 one-off entries to apply. Current team owners can add an extra car, and those currently not involved can also ask for an entry. (I'll go through the details of how to turn your application into a fully signed & sealed entry over the coming weeks, so I wouldn't lock yourselves into drivers just yet...)

We'd also like to apply for a third car for the Indianapolis 500, under the banner of Coyne Team Pelfrey running the #81

I am unfortunately going to give up Andretti. If I may suggest a successor, I would like pinkd56 to go from managing the Herta minor team to managing all of Andretti.

Since Special Ed has decided to race this year's Indy 500 with three cars, I assume it wouldn't be a bad idea to replicate it here.

That's a shame, but thanks for being a part of it all! Door's always open for a 500 entry if you're up for it.

Thanks to ARWS not racing at all in May beyond the first weekend, Voeckler hopes to enter a technical partnership with a major team to field its own single car entry, with Dan Greenlaw at the wheel.

Team Bachot will attempt to field an Indy 500 entry, hoping a more prolific team will help us in this, and we will attempt to field Michael Rohnstock (pending CaptainGetz's permission). Failing that, we'll just field Jean-Maxime Bachot instead.

Underhill would like to enter the #6 into the 500 once more. They are interesting in fielding John Hunter Nemechek.

And yeah, Cassidy is coming back.

Right, let's open full-season driver signings. To repeat...

First of all, as last year, your sponsors will front you the cash to sign their desired drivers. If you fail to meet the given criteria, you'll be forced to pay the sponsor of that given car their money back in full.

Currently, budgets for the signing process are:
AJ Foyt - $5,842,000
Andretti - $16,862,000
Carlin - $4,642,000
Cassidy - $3,142,000
Ganassi - $13,892,000
Dale Coyne - $3,692,000
Ed Carpenter - $1,642,000
Penske - $19,552,000
RLL - $8,442,000
SPM - $3,702,000

Regular and Promoted drivers must be paid a minimum of $1m (unless otherwise stated in the Driver Discounts tab) for a season. IndyCar will cover some of the budget for Promoted drivers, eg. if you offer the minimum $1m to Promoted Driver A, you'll get $500k back at the end of the signing process.

Pay-drivers do not require a wage, instead they just need to be offered the seat. You can only sign pay-drivers if you explicitly stated your wish to in the sponsor signing phase (ie. Cassidy #65, SPM #7, ECR #21).

You may wish to modify your bids for a driver having seen your competition, but you must do that with a separate post instead of editing your original post (I will be keeping track of bids).

Alternatively, if you intend to sign more than one driver to drive the car over the year, then you must state the overall wage you wish to pay and then offer drivers individually the chance to drive for a part of the season.

Top-level regular drivers have a high chance of declining drives if a derisory salary is offered.

Fictional drivers:
Drivers must be paid a minimum of $1m for a season as a base fee. Each fictional driver will be assigned a tier, and this reflects the past successes of a driver. The tiers will also be assigned a multiplier, which multiplies the base wage to a figure more representative of the driver's ability. These are as follows:

Tier 1 (Title or regular race winner in top-level series) - 2.5x
Tier 2 (Occasional race winner/frequent point scorer in top/mid-level series) - 2.0x
Tier 3 (Proven points-scorer in mid-level series) - 1.5x
Tier 4 (Scrubs) - 1.0x

Note: Ashley Cassidy is not subject to the multiplier if she is offered the Cassidy Racing drive.

NEW FEATURE: SCOUTING

You may PM me a selection of three drivers who you are interested in, and I will be able to provide you with a rating score out of 100. This score is a function of their combined qualifying and race performances in GP2. Last year, the ratings ranged between 85/100 and 54/100 (obvs, the higher the better). You may purchase a fourth scout slot for $100k.

Ratings can go up and down between seasons, following good results.

Andretti Herta would be willing to sign him assuming Rossi and Newgarden don't sign, and for the same wage of $2.5m. Would that work?
