2019-20 Africa Racing League - Preparations

Even though there's plenty of 2019 still to go, it can't hurt to start making preparations for a new ARL season. This time, things are going to be a tiny bit different.

Again, the series will use the Lola B05/52 for the main ARL championship. However, the grid size will now be limited to fifteen cars.

In addition, there will be a supporting F3 championship at select rounds of the championship. This will be contested by six cars.

AFRICA RACING LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP

ARL Point System:

1st: 10 points
2nd: 8 points
3rd: 6 points
4th: 5 points
5th: 4 points
6th: 3 points
7th: 2 points
8th: 1 point

Entry criteria:

- Teams must be based in Africa. These can be existing teams racing with an African license, a subsidiary of an existing team, or a new team.

- Teams may run one car each, or apply to run a second.

- Teams must sign AT LEAST ONE driver with an "AfriStar" or "AfriStar B" license. These can be found on the list below (with DEC holders). If any DEC holders wish for their driver to be removed from the list, please say.

- Any second drivers must be a reasonable pick. Any AfriStar or new African driver gets an immediate pass. Drivers of any other nationality will be up to the series owner's discretion; any other experienced F1/ARWS drivers will not be granted an entry.

AFRICAN FORMULA 3

2nd: 6 points
3rd: 4 points

Team Gunston is not confident of its chances in the driver market for the main series, so will take a step back into F3 and take on a young protégé for the long term.

As an addendum, you'll be allowed to keep the same numbers from last season. I'd ask you to wait on drivers, just to give any new teams a chance to grab someone semi-decent.

There should be spaces available once all of last years' teams have confirmed their involvement. If any further teams are interested, feel free to register your interest with the following form (Pilot, if you could also do this that'd be grand)

Code: Select all

Team Name:
Team Base (must be in Africa):
Preferred Number(s): select something unassigned from last year.
Preferred Series: ARL / AF3 (both subject to availability)
Livery plan: (colours, sponsors, etc)

I imagine the existing teams will keep something similar to last years' livery, but let me know if you want any changes made.

Not possible at this stage, I'm afraid. If there's a vacant F3 slot that doesn't look like it'll be filled then I can make an exception, but I'd rather keep it open for new entries.

I can confirm the ARL entry now, however.

Furthermore, having taken Agyemang-Badu to the title last season, Tigo Black Stars are guaranteed two cars - extra cars for other teams will be assigned later on.

You don't need to fill the form in, teams from last year need only confirm that they're carrying on (unless they're entering with a new team).

Apologies guys, but there's a possibility I'll pull the plug on this. Hang tight, and I'll see how I feel about it later down the line.

Taxi, was just posting it there so I didn’t have to do it later. :P

Wasn’t meant to provoke you or anything.
