Due to upcoming GCSE examinations, Ken Wyn Jones is unable to make the Oulton Park and Kirkistown races. He will be replaced by Englishman Charles Rawstorne (born February 30, 2002) for these rounds.

(Jones will still take part in the testing)

If you mean in testing, up to two drivers may be submitted for stat improvements, so long as they:

1. Already have experience in an F4 series
2. Are not racing at a different circuit the weekend before the test, unless it's within reachable distance
3. Are not already subject to stat boosts from another 2019 F4 series. This is to prevent abuse of the systems in place

Yes, this is a brand new rule. Amendments may be made depending on how people treat this.

If you mean fielding a second car in races, I am sorry, I wish I could oblige, but the 26-car limit stands. You can, however, ask someone to volunteer in giving up one of their cars. Whether they can be persuaded is another matter...

Magda Szervánszky is developing quite a record from the Irish races on the calendar as she adds the Martin Donnelly Trophy to her collection. With it, she also takes the championship lead.

FIA Stewards Report wrote:Kirkistown | Anglo-Irish Formula 4 | Race 1 penalties

Having reviewed footage and spoken to the driver in question, the following punishment has been given to the following competitor:

  • Arden Internationl #15 {Will Tregurtha) has been given 3 penalty points for touring the circuit for a full lap with smoke emitting from his engine - thus obscuring the vision of other drivers - in spite of there being ample opportunity and places available to retire the car.

Drivers who accumulate 20 penalty points will serve a one weekend ban, which applies across all FIA Formula 4 series worldwide. Penalty points expire 12 months from the date of issue, and roll over into the next season if applicable.

Autosport, Motorsport, all the same innit wrote:Anglo-Irish F4 Series Examining Switch to Single Race Format

The Formula 4 Anglo-Irish Championship is examining the possibility of replacing its current two-race weekend format with a single race one, Autosport can confirm.

The Motor Sports Association chairman has commented that "with Formula 1 now returning to a single-race format it stands to reason that, as we form a step on the ladder that leads there, it would make sense that we look into doing the same. We would still have a 20-round calendar but we would also be able to visit more of the best circuits these islands have to offer."

At present, it is understood that the Anglo-Irish series will be supporting the European Formula 3 Championship at Silverstone, Athlone and the revived Birmingham street circuit next year, with further venues yet to be announced. The meeting between MSA and Motorsport Ireland officials to finalise the 2020 regulations and calendar is scheduled to be held on August 12.

Translation: With Klon's decision to do the same with F1, it's a good excuse for me to double the number of rounds (and circuits) on the F4 calendar without affecting workload. This way I can use every existing present-day British and Irish circuit that's available for GP2 (good or bad, I make no distinction :P), and I don't have to worry about axing some circuits in favour of others - good circuits too, like Thruxton and Snetterton - although I want to see what F2 and F3 will do first before making a final decision.

Cadwell Park will also be run before the end of the week, all going to plan.

The eleventh and twelfth races of the year have been run, the 50th anniversary revival edition of the Lincolnshire International Trophy going to Ione Wilkerson.

Notes

Drivers out of position include Szervánszky, who had an electrical problem (so severe that the game froze for about a minute) while running third in race two, and Triggs, who had a dramatic spin coming into the chicane in race one.

IMPORTANT BIT

It's also time for the last in-season test of the year. So please, tell me who's going to Snetterton and what they're aiming to improve on!

Arden will go to Snetterton, but will improve nothing just in case we get penalised for hitting any caps.

:vergne:

What if I told you that you haven't hit any caps and your chances of doing so are approximately 1 in 200?

And what if I told you further that the actual penalty (which only applies if the cap has already previously been reached) would at most be a negligible 20 points out of 15800 and is therefore almost entirely symbolic and (partially) designed on the spot to scare Miguel? :P

Yeah, it's not something I can be bothered enforcing, really...

In fact, here's something I probably should have done from the start: Freaking driver feedback, I mean it's only fair, right? So, breaking it down alphabetically:

  • Joao Almeida (race pace): Good improvement, still feels he can do better.
  • William Bronson (race pace): Huge improvement, still feels he can do better.
  • Harold Campbell-Bannerman (consistency): Negligible improvement. Fairly happy with where he is, but still plenty of room for improvement at the same time.
  • Collin Daley Jr. (race pace): Good improvement, could possibly do a bit better.
  • Gerallt Davies (race pace): Good improvement, not sure how much he can improve further.
  • Siobhán de Bhailéara (one-lap pace): Good improvement, fairly happy with where she is now.
  • Clara Descoteaux (one-lap pace): Small improvement, could certainly do better.
  • Shawn DiBenedetto (N/A): No improvement, confused, asking "why am I here?" with every possible meaning that could be construed from those four words.
  • Samson Enoh (race pace): Great improvement, still thinks there's a bit more in him.
  • Ramy Ghazal (consistency): Great improvement, fairly happy now, but further improvement still very much possible.
  • Gabriel Hoffmann (race pace): Negligible improvement, doesn't think there's a lot to improve on in that area, although it's still possible.
  • Guillaume Laurier (one-lap pace): Good improvement, but still room for more.
  • Emma Le Blan (one-lap pace): Small improvement, still a long way to go.
  • Alfie Lockwood (consistency): Negligible improvement, though more or less satisfied with where he is.
  • Odhrán Mac Aodha (one-lap pace): Huge improvement, doesn't feel there's a lot more he can do.
  • Toshio Maka (one-lap pace): Small improvement and a long road ahead of him.
  • Jake McMahon (one-lap pace): Huge improvement, but still not up there.
  • Siobhan McMahon (one-lap pace): Good improvement, still better than her brother.
  • Nakaguri Morioka (race pace): Good improvement, doesn't see how he can improve much further.
  • Harry Platten (consistency): Decent improvement, still a bit unpredictable.
  • Ethan Renaud (race pace): Decent improvement, hard to see how he can improve much more in that area.
  • Magda Szervánszky (consistency): Good improvement, fairly happy with the result.
  • Will Tregurtha (consistency): Negligible improvement, definitely still needs work.
  • Jemma Triggs (consistency): Huge improvement, hopes she can fight for more wins now.
  • Ione Wilkerson (one-lap pace): Negligible improvement, though she is a little unsure as to how much she can really improve there, there is still some room.
  • Ken Wyn Jones (race pace): Huge improvement, reckons he can take on the best like he did in early 2018.
