Car Market

Posted: 25 Sep 2016, 13:01
by Normal32
Before we get to the drivers...

Car Market
Here's the Price table

>> Step 1: Buying an engine
We have nine manufacturers available for your choice if you happen to be a customer team. I will explain the columns: Company should be self-explainatory. BHP states its power in qualifying and race. CFP means Car Failure Probability, i.e. it's a fancy term for reliability. The higher it is, the more likely your car is to retire from a race. Available describes how many engine contracts are available to teams. Notes are information about specific factors tying into the engine choice. Price is the price you pay for purchasing the engine contract.

Basically, you just pick the engine you would like and a RNG will decide which engine you will be given. Factors playing into the RNG are real-life and canon history, your team's performance over the last season and general feasibility. Any team that outright chooses it or fails to get any of their desired engine will be given the Ford DFR engine. All engine deals are one-year contracts.

>> Step 2: Developing a chassis
Explaining the columns as well: Max Grip determines the highest amount of grip possible, your car won't have more grip than that value, no matter what, even if you had HWNSNBM himself driving the vehicle. An RNG will determine that value once you have decided on a chassis type. CFP is the same as with engines - the lower the number the more likely your car is to finish. Note that the "U" chassis type is your team keeping its old chassis, this is merely a narrative choice, for all other intents and purposes, it will be treated like all the other chassis types. Upgrades work different in the Revolutionary Era system, given as they are, in the narrative, representing a B version of the chassis you produced (or kept) at the start of the year. All teams may only use two upgrades per year, regardless of chassis type, and they must not be made before the fifth race of the season (United States) or after the twelveth race of the season (Italy). The chassis can't be exchanged with other teams.

>> Step 3: Picking Tyres

Starting from 1989, there will be a tyre war in Formula One. Pirelli and Goodyear are the ones present for 1989. Either of these will increase the max grip value of the chassis in either race pace or qualifying pace, but it will decrease it in the inverse area.

>> Step 4: Driver Aids

Explaining the columns again: Max Grip increases the max grip value of your chassis, and the RGR (Random Grip Range) increases the team's consistency. The lower the RGR is, the more likely it is the driver will have a good day.

Alright, please fill out this until Sunday, October 2 (16:00 p.m. CET) and post it in this thread. Once you have posted the data, editing your post is forbidden unless I allow you to:

Code: Select all

After purchasing chassis and engines, your team must only be so far in debt that you are able to get back into the black numbers after pay-driver money has been added after the driver market. You may make more or less choices as far as engines are concerned.

Furthermore, note that if you have not posted your choices until the deadline, your spot will be taken by a user from the waiting list. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here or contact me through the usual ways.
