Since the Alt-F1 RNGs have now been run, the following drivers are no longer available:

- Jean Alesi

- Olivier Grouillard

Make sure to adjust your bids as necessary before the deadline

The first round of driver RNGs will not be run until after the Alt-1989 F1 RNGs, as there are several drivers that have offers from both categories. After that, if there are any empty seats, drivers will be RNGed as offers are made to them.

I guess we'll have to snatch any Pay-Drivers we can get!, Also what bids?

As Onyx owner, what I should modify to get into the rules?

Drivers have been updated on the wiki, and budgets will be done shortly. Once that's all settled, we'll get down to racing

Fastest Lap: Emanuele Pirro: 1:13.026
Drive of the Race: JJ Letho - Was on pace to beat Pirro on debut before the engine expired
Reject of the Race: Allan McNish - Threw away certain podium with silly driver error

Silverstone turned into a battle of attrition, with only 11 cars making it to the finish (Naspetti retired and came to a halt at the final corner whilst running in 6th). Up front, the race quickly became a battle between Pirro on the two stopper, and Letho on the one-stop strategy. Letho was leading with a few laps to go with Pirro catching before his Mugen-Honda cried no more.

Post-Race
- Due to suffering no less than six engine-related failures, Mugen Motorsport have started development on a reliability package that will be ready in time for Pau. In the meantime, they are offering to cover half the repair and replacement costs for ALL EXISTING MUGEN CUSTOMERS until the updates are ready

Fastest Lap: Johnny Herbert - 1:35.242
Drive of the Race: Fabrizio Giovanardi - Was on track to score valuable points after being punted off on lap one before an engine failure ended his day
Reject of the Race: CoBRa - Both cars retired with identical failures within a lap of each other

The race was a story of one man - Johnny Herbert. Having been given a brand new 89-spec Lola to play with, the Englishman absolutely dominated proceedings when most of the front runners took each other out within the first three corners of proceedings. Napsetti and Blundell survived the chaos to complete the podium, while further back, Damon Hill scored a valuable point for Bromley.

Post-Race

- Having gotten word that Mugen Honda have a development package imminent, Ford Cosworth have responded, and have a similar upgrade in the works with a release date to be determined. John Judd is yet to follow suit with the AV.
- Eric Bernard was checked at the medical centre after his big accident on the first lap. He was later cleared without injury and is free to participate at the next round.

Fabrizio Giovanardi (Mugen Honda MF308/2): £41,400
Allan McNish (Mugen Honda MF308/4): £67,500

Emanuele Pirro (Lola T89/50/1): £12,500
Eric Bernard (Lola T88/50/2): £96,750

Repairs are to be done before 12:00 GMT on Thursday 22nd December

IBR will fix everything one last time. However, Mugen-Honda should be acutely aware that if they don't start absorbing our repair costs themselves for their hand-grenades that are misleadingly called "engines", we will take our business elsewhere.

Couple of housekeeping items to take care of before Pau:

- Due to extenuating circumstances, I will be the caretaker owner for Middlebridge until SuperAguri returns. In the interest of fairness, Middlebridge drivers will not be locked down to season-long contracts, which means other teams can bid for them. Should Middlebridge go bankrupt due to bad luck or bad management, SuperAguri will move to first on the waiting list, and will have first pick of any new teams as he desires
- Due to the rather large repair bills a few teams are facing, a modification has been made to the way engine RNGs are done. Now, if the engine failure is due to an oil or water leak, the damage RNG is capped at 50% of the engine value. This has been applied retrospectively, so IBR, Middlebridge and Oreca will have some money returned as a result
-In addition to that, post-season prize money will be reviewed during the season, and if it looks like too many teams will struggle into 1990, will be increased accordingly

The Pau race weekend post will be up shortly

Fastest Lap: Erik Comas - 1:12.202
Drive of the Race: Andrea Chiesa - Turned middling qualifying effort into a solid points run for CoBRa
Reject of the Race: Madgewick - First two retirements of the afternoon with a transmission failure and silly accident

Il Barone Rampante ran rampant around the streets of Pau, with their two drivers dominating proceedings for much of the race. EJR's Johnny Herbert was in contention for much of the race before his error put him out of contention. Further back and several teams hit problems, most notably the returning Middlebridge squad, Forti and Madgewick, who had the inglorious distinction of being the first two retirements.

Post-Race

- Due to manufacturing issues, the planned Mugen-Honda upgrade was not available in time. Instead, it will be ready in time for the next round at Jerez, and will take the form of 1000 rel points. Consequently, this will be the last round half-price repairs for Mugen customers will apply
- Ford Cosworth's MKII kit will be ready in time for Assen, and will take the form of a 500 rel point bonus. Further upgrades for both manufacturers are being planned in the future depending on how the rest of the season goes
- Due to supplying no less than five Formula One teams in 1989 in addition to their Formula 3000 commitments, John Judd has announced he won't be planning any updates for the AV engine. With Formula One business booming, it's also doubtful he'll supply new AV engines beyond the end of the current season
- Mugen Honda's bosses have also noted IBR's scathing criticism of the MF308 powerplant, and have decided to let them off the hook and redouble their efforts, as they're aware that the engine is the weak link in their operation. They do note however that they won't take such criticism too kindly in future

Damage

Eric van de Poele (Mugen Honda MF308/9): £35,100
Nino Fama (Mugen Honda MF308/8): £5,400
Thomas Danielsson (Judd AV/2): £7,200
Gianni Morbidelli (Ford-Cosworth DFY/5): £52,500
Erik Comas (Mugen Honda MF308/3): £2,700
JJ Lehto (Mugen Honda MF308/6): £38,700
Jorg Scrattenheim (Mugen Honda MF308/10): Write-Off
Michel Ferte (Judd AV/6): £20,400
Paul Belmondo (Reynard 89D/3): £15,000
Bernd Schneider (Reynard 89D/9): £47,500
Mark Blundell (Lola T89/50/5): £55,000

Repairs are to be done before 12:00 GMT on Saturday 31st December

After a disappointing race, if not, a real shocking race which ends with a high repair bill, Forti will be using the spare car and splitting them up to be used for the next race only. Morbidelli will use the spare engine and Schneider will use the spare chassis.

Hopefully after the next race, we shall repair them all without worry, depending on how much money we might make after the next race.

Forti don't own a spare car, so that won't be happening

Apologies for not paying attention, in that case, Forti will be left with no choice but to repair everything for the next race.
