Lopez raced in AR 2.0 last year, a series considered above F4. I'll have to deny this driver from entering.

Then in goes Mason Perez after setting out another agreement with Dexter249.

I'll extend the deadline until the end of Saturday (tomorrow), and if no other member wants to have a two-car team, then I will provide one to complete the grid.

Verania Andrés

Arienne Soral

In addition, Victoria Marcia Belmonte will be denied entry in the series due to previous commitments in the Caribbean Racing League. Ataxia, please nominate a replacement driver for Belmonte.

As the person who ran the CRL for that one season, I object to this decision. The CRL was a pro-am regional series that was always designed to be a fourth-tier feeder category at best (below AR 2.0/F3RWRS and equivalent to F4 today) as evidenced by the 2 year old frankencar that was used. Belmonte hasn't progressed to a higher-tier series since, and thus there should be no reason for her not to participate here.

If that is the case then I would allow Victoria to race. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Team Pelfrey still needs to find a second driver for car #81.

In addition, there will be a plan to improve drivers that may be having trouble in the series midway through the season. Details to follow.

I will schedule the opening races of North American F4 this Sunday, probably after ARWS if it runs.

In addition, I have plans to implement a means for teams not performing well to improve their drivers halfway through the season. This will involve a special test session after the forth race weekend. I will post submission info as that time approaches.

John Davis struggled off the start, while Dexter Black rocketed into the lead in the first half of lap 1. Davis's engine failed on the penultimate lap, the car catching fire on the first half of the lap. Andrés held off a large train of cars to take 3rd place. Much of the back half of the field stayed in a large pack, with de la Vara and Hann escaping to catch the points-scoring positions.

Results to follow after the second race.

Bill Jones received a 30 second time penalty for passing under yellow flags. Jones again passed Sorel under yellow flag conditions and did not give the place back. Jones will also receive a reprimand from the stewards for his actions and is under increased scrutiny for the next weekend.

Black again rocketed up the grid at the start, but failed to gain the lead from Vega. Andres pulls away from the pack more convincingly, while much of the field below 10th scrambled for positions. Strangely the grid and final classification matches that of the previous race, and the race organizers are investigating any reasons for this. Davis will receive a free repair from Honda for his engine failing twice in the same weekend, and the engine manufacturer will be looking into the engine to find the cause of these failures.

24) Bill Jones +40.597
25) Eduardo Barrichello +41.256
Ret) Mike Jones Engine

Fastest Lap: Alexandra Mohnhaupt 54.204

Sorel made the most of her start and fought hard against Maldonado and Bennett to take the win and the first 1-2 finish for a team in the series. On lap 4 Bill Jones spun by putting a tire into the dirt in turn 2 and spent the rest of the race trying to catch the pack. The race involved many battles on the high-speed course, with battles for the lead and for 10th being the most hectic. Alexandra Mohnhaupt impressed by fighting with Davis for most of the race, taking 4th from Davis on the final stretch. Ed Howitzer proved strong early on, but several mistakes caused the American to slide down the field.

Mike Jones's engine failure is the third failure in a row in consecutive races, and Honda will look to improve the reliability of the engine for the next race.

Standings to be posted after the second race.

24) Shawn Dibenedetto +49.743
25) Verania Andrés +50.864
Ret) Elton Faraday Engine

Fastest Lap: Armando Maldonado 54.328

This race was defined more by the successful defenses rather than the successful overtakes. Maldonado made a terrible start, allowing Black and Bill Jones to rocket off at the start, while he tried and failed to overtake Davis throughout the whole race. Belmonte had a hectic race, holding off many comers and making strong overtakes to manage a 10th place finish by just a hair. Ben Carver proved the best overtaker for today, with several well-played passes that caught Howitzer off-guard.

de la Vega had a terrible qualifying, claiming difficulties with getting used to the high-speed course. Said issues continued into the race where he failed to make any noteworthy progress from the back of the field. On lap 9 Andrés took too wide of an entry into Turn 1 and spent the rest of the race off the pace of the field. Faraday's engine failed on the same lap, and this is pressuring Honda to seek a more permanent solution to these mechanical issues with the engine.

Fastest Lap: John Davis 1:35.109

Santillán fought hard against Maldonado and Davis for the lead, having gotten the edge on Maldonado at the start. However, he would lose the duo about halfway through the race, though he kept pace enough to take 3rd, taking his first points in style. Maldonado and Davis would continue their duel for the win right for the rest of the race, with Maldonado taking entry into turn 3 too wide on the penultimate lap. Vega and Sorel fought over 6th for most of the race, though Sorel got the edge by the end. On lap 4 Sorel slowed down greatly at Moss, causing a massive traffic jam. Perez made the most of this shake-up and slid into 10th. He would then get the better of Belmonte and d'Orlando to finish a solid 8th. Gómez also looked to crack the top 10, but ultimately petered out by the halfway mark.

Genesis Engineering went from hero to zero in one race, with Bill Jones and Dexter Black wallowing down in the back, with a substandard qualifying session and terrible starts. Black even ran in last for the middle third of the race, having a small battle with Andrés and Faraday. De la Vara had a loose steering wheel on lap 7, and had to enter the pits to fix it.

25) Bill Jones +51.803
26) Shawn Dibenedetto +52.237

Fastest Lap: Logan Sargeant 1:35.135

Ed Howitzer would have a rocket of a start, gaining a healthy gap on the two Peak Motorsport cars and having a clear race to victory. Davis clawed his way up to the top 3, sparring with Bennett to take 2nd by race end. Santillán again impressed with a 7th place finish, while Ciampa sped up to 10th thanks to a slow start by much of the midfield, holding off Vega to keep his point finish. Vega and Andrés proved the main losers of this race, failing to find a groove to mount a charge back to the points after they both took turns too wide early on.

Mike Jones had a terrible day all around, sturggling to escape the back of the field due to a more radical setup backfiring. Genesis Engineering would close off an atrocious weekend with another double finish at the back, the two cars even running 25th and 26th for a couple of laps. Di Longo sparred in the midfield, gaining several positions toward the end.

Here is the mid-season test of the North American Formula 4 season at Mid-Ohio! Fastest Lap: Ed Howitzer 1:26.856

John Davis would build up a sizable lead at the start in order to keep his championship hopes alive. Howitzer would clash with De la Vara early on, but would break away to steadily catch Davis. Contrary to his first half of the season Howitzer would build momentum and slowly reel in Davis, passing him cleanly at turn 2 on the penultimate lap to take the series's first ever hat trick (pole, fastest lap, win). De la Vara and Belmonte fought eachother for position, but de la Vara would emerge the victor in that battle, taking his first podium of the season.

The lower points positions would see the most action, with Mike Jones having to fend off most of the midfield for most of the race. On lap 8 Mike Jones would almost collide with Vega and d'Orlando when the cars would go three-wide into turn 4, the three tapping eachother with no notable damage dealt to any car. Andrés would slowly climb up the field after a bad start, but was too bogged down in the midfield to get a crack at the top 10.

Bill Jones would retire from 7th on the final corner of the final lap when his car's ECU failed, parking him in the grass on the penultimate corner. Kelsey Hann would retire on lap 7 due to throttle issues, while Logan Sargeant had to enter the pits on lap 9 to correct a loose wheel.

Fastest Lap: Arienne Sorel 1:26.628

John Davis received a warning for overly defensive driving, having blocked Mike Jones at the very last second at turn 4.

Alejandro de la Vega sped into the lead thanks to a hard charge at the start, leaving Howitzer to fight with Barrichello and Sorel for the top 3. Howitzer would break free, but Vega proved too far to catch. However, on lap 10 Vega misjudged turn 2's corner exit and slammed into the barriers, breaking his front wing. He would limp around the track back to the pits, handing Howitzer his third victory in a row. Barrichello failed to take 3rd place from Sorel, believing himself to be denied his first podium but Vega's mishap would renew his resolve, doing well to hold off de la Vara in the closing laps to take 3rd place. Belmonte would hold 5th for much of the
race, failing to find an opening to get into the top 3, and the Tropican would spin out on the final lap after driving too fast into turn 12.

The lower top 10 raced closer together this time, with Santillán and Davis providing an excellent battle early on. Bill Jones and Mike Jones would spar with eachother at last, racing hard to keep pace with the field. Dexter Black and both Montreal machines would fail to find pace today, failing to get higher than the lower midfield. Faraday ould climb as high as 13th, but he would spin off turn 6 on lap 5, forcing him to play catch-up for the rest of the race.
