Bill Jones made the most of a contested midfield and sped off at the start, not having much to worry about for the whole race. Mason Perez steadily made his way up the field, taking a solid 7th place. John Davis sparred with Maldonado for most of the race, and his failure to get on the podium could spell trouble later in the championship. Howitzer had a terrible start, but eventually got up to 10th, keeping his championship hopes alive. Joey Bennett held off all comers for 5th for most of the race, but had to retire on lap 13 of 15 due to transmission problems. Many drivers also had trouble with locking tires, with Sargeant going off wide in turn 3 early on.

Vega got a good start to try and pull a gap, but Howitzer steadily reigned in him before passing him cleanly in the closing laps for the win. Belmonte was in contention for 3rd, but she had to pull off into the pits on lap 2 due to electrical problems. She spent the rest of the race trying to catch up with the field, but in the end she could not pass a very defensive Dibenedetto. Davis could not find pace on race day, it cost him dearly in the championship with such a low finish. The race had little overtaking, with the field quickly spreading out by the halfway mark.

So, I kind of have to drop this bombshell then...

During my time away from home my laptop's cooling fan failed and stayed dead for the whole trip, only to come back to life just an hour ago. I plan to get it looked at this week but this means that I have to put this series on hold while I finish university and see if I can fix the laptop fan permanently. This means that the series is on hold indefinitely until further notice, If the series does not resume by 12/15 I will call the series finished for the season so people don't have to wait.

If you want, I can try running the last two rounds on my laptop if the situation doesn't improve by then. Just send over all the relevant performance details and I can get it done before Christmas. ;)

Fastest Lap: Victoria Marcia Belmonte 1:39.132

John Davis kept a short distance ahead of the rest of the field, helping him re-solidify his lead in the championship. Arienne Sorel made several wide turns early on, causing her to fall out of contention for the win. D'Orlando and both Panthera cars bouted for 3rd, but D'Orlando would manage to build a gap on the feuding teammates. 8th through 13th saw the most action, with Sargeant playing aggressive to stay in the main pack. Ciampa did his best to stay in the top 10, but would fall off from the pack in the last few laps and miss his chance at a point.

Chad Brooks spun out on the penultimate lap, the Canadian stalling the car when he tried to get back onto the track. Howitzer struggled to keep up with the pack, claiming engine problems that prevented him from moving above 13th place. His engine would overheat as he crossed the finish line and was unable to get the car back to the pits.

26) Nicholas d'Orlando +1:11.094

Fastest Lap: Ed Howitzer 1:38.775

Bill Jones and Ed Howitzer clashed over the lead for the whole race, Jones aggressively attacking Howitzer. Jones's efforts would go without reward however, giving Howitzer a much-need win to stay in contention for the championship. Davis had difficulties breaking into the top 10, but he kept consistent pace to help move his way to 8th. Sorel and Bennett fought with eachother for 3rd, unable to work together to close the gap on the top 2.

Every driver finished, but Mohnhaupt and d'Orlando both faced electrical issues, forcing them to pit on laps 3 and 9 respectively to fix the issues and thus ending their chances of scoring points.

-----------------

I'll split the last 2 races of the year, with the first round of Monterrey tomorrow and the second round on Friday, in order to have the points calculated going into the final race.

26) Alejandro Gómez +1:04.921

Fastest Lap: Armando Maldonado 1:32.445

Howitzer showed ominous pace in qualifying, and as expected he sped off at the start. Mohnhaupt lurched to the front thanks to a flying start and spent the opening laps trying to pass Howitzer. Mohnhaupt would lose Howitzer by the halfway point, and did her best to hold off Vega and Maldonado for a strong 2nd place finish. Maldonado got the edge on Vega by lap 8, having rallied from the midfield to catch 2nd and 3rd.

Sorel could not get it right in Sector 2, and frequently found herself swamped by other drivers on the ascent to the Corkscrew. Davis had similar issues, but he managed to get the hang of the climb and managed to climb from 11th to 8th, thus reducing the damage of Howitzer's win. Chad Brooks impressed as well, the Canadian putting on a strong performance to make up for a slow start, though he still kicks himself on what could have been a podium finish. Bennett and Sargeant sparred for 11th right behind the main pack, neither driver able to take a shot at the top 10. Black sank down the field over the course of the race, unable to find a optimal racing line to keep up with the main pack.

-------

Howitzer passes Davis in the championship, with Ed now 1 point ahead of Davis. Sorel and Vega are out of contention for the championship, but will be fighting for 3rd in the standings. Stay tuned tomorrow for the season finale of North American F4!

Davis made a bold dive for the inside at the start, and quickly got around Vega for the lead. Vega had no answer for the American, and Davis would pull away steadily from the Mexican. Sargeant held off all comers to take 5th, while Sorel managed to defeat Black to take 3rd. The lower points proved contentious; Howitzer tried and failed to stay in the top 10, a rather embarrassing way to end his title hunt. Bill Jones made the most of Ed's
issues, pushing himself up to 9th. Santillán flirted with the points early on, only to sink into the midfield by the halfway mark. Chad Brooks also lost his pace, finishing down in the quagmire of 23rd, where the backmarkers squabbled over the positions.
