Re: 1999 F1 Manager series, Drivers Engines and Upgrades

Post by thor97 »

Drivers
You Must have two Drivers and a test driver is optional, You may select up to 3 drivers to bid for each position but remember some drivers will want to sign with a team more than yours so be ready to be rejected a bit.
Engines
Each team must select an engine provider. You again may select up to 3 engines to bid for but again engines have prioritys.
Upgrades/Testing
self explanatory they will upgrade your car. Also for testing ask me to pm you the results if you want them

Arrows F1 Team announcement

Post by Aislabie »

Image

Arrows F1 Team Press Release wrote:As a team, we have today announced our intention to pursue three drivers who are currently available. They are Nick Heidfeld, Pedro Diniz and Gaston Mazzacane, who are all drivers that bring qualities that we believe this Formula One team desperately needs. Diniz in particular is an established figure that we hope to retain within the team, while Heidfeld has shown himself to be fast in other classes of motorsport, and reliable as McLaren's Test Driver. They would make a formidable driver pairing.

As for our engine supply, while we are able to develop our own engine this year, we are currently still engaged in negotiations to secure either Supertec or Ford engines for the coming season.

Our testing schedule will be announced once we are sure of our driver line-up and engine suppliers.

Stefan will take the blue livery on the right.

Can we offer drives to those not on the list above? if so, then Stefan would like to offer a drive to Sarah Fisher, Vincenzo Sosperi, and Riccardo Rosset.

And as regards engine, can we request running Al Melling's MCD engine that was being developed for MasterCard Lola in 1997 but was never run in reality? If not, then we'll use the 1997 Ford engine.

Sarah Fisher announces that she had a contract offer in Formula 1Autosport
Sarah Fisher told auto sport today she had a contract offer from an unknown team in F1 But says she declined saying at the moment i'm fully committed to indycar and indy lights saying"It would be great to race in such a series like that but indycar and indy light are closer and i'm at least going to be driving a car not testing which i think would have happened" The unknown team has been rumored already in talks with other drivers but at the moment Sarah Fisher is not one of them

Cool. Sounds like a deal.

Stefan announces engine deal

The Stefan Grand Prix team, run by the enigmatic Zoran Stefanovic, is pleased to announce that they are bringing a new engine manufacturer into the sport. Al Melling's MCD engines, who were originally commissioned to design and build an engine for Lola in 1997, finally has a chance to bring the engine into the premier single-seater category. We hope for good performance and results together this year.

On the driver front, while we would have loved to have seen Sarah Fisher in F1, bringing potentially a new audience to F1 (both Americans and the female populace), we respect her decision to focus on the American racing scene, her homeland. We are in negotiations with other drivers in the meantime, which include, amongst others, Vincenzo Sosperi, Riccardo Rosset, and Patrick Lemarie.

Arrows F1 Team announcement

Post by Aislabie »

Image
Arrows F1 Team Press Release wrote:Following some confusion regarding exactly how many transfer targets we were allowed to release to the press, we are now able to announce a complete list of the drivers we are targeting for this season.

For the position of First Driver, Arrows F1 Team is looking to secure the services of 1998 driver Pedro Diniz.. He has valuable experience with our team, and performed admirably for us last year. Pedro de la Rosa is also being considered for the position; he has a sparkling resume, with no fewer than seven Championship titles to his name at lower levels. However, if we are unable to secure the funding talents of those drivers, we will attempt to sign former World Champion and ex-Arrows driver Damon Hill.

In our search for a Second Driver, the short-list includes former McLaren Test driver Nick Heidfeld, who - like de la Rosa - has an impressive track record of success at lower levels. We're also looking at Toranosuke Takagi, who showed some ability for Tyrrell last year, and Eddie Irvine, who appears to be out of work after doing so well for Ferrari last year.

As a Test driver, we are looking to confirm one of Gaston Mazzacane, Marc Gene and Patrick Lemarie, who have all been noted as capable development drivers.

Meanwhile, for our engine we are seeking to obtain the right to use Supertec engines, which are believed to be some of the best on the grid. Failing that, we hope to use Ford engines, although we've got some random Dutch bloke in his garage working on DIY option if everything else falls through.

Bring on 1999!
