Never have I more wished this was an actual award.

I like it too, it's intriguing. But would you care to elaborate on why you like it so much? It has still been dominated by Mercedes in recent years...

As originally scheduled at the start of the year, this is how the calendar for the anti-clockwise championship would have looked...

Code: Select all

5th April 2020       Vietnamese Grand Prix
7th June 2020        Azerbaijan Grand Prix
20th September 2020  Singapore Grand Prix
11th October 2020    Japanese Grand Prix (half-points)
25th October 2020    United States Grand Prix
15th November 2020   Brazilian Grand Prix
29th November 2020   Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

This would have seen the most number of races count towards this championship. But as things have stood for around the past two to three months, there have been absolutely zero confirmed anti-clockwise tracks confirmed for this year, although there has been rumours of Imola for some time (which would make a return for the first time since 2006), as well as a return to the calendar some of the postponed races from the original calendar. But it remains a question of "watch this space."

The years without any anti-clockwise races have been 1961-1968, 1970 and 1972. Many years in the 1950s saw only the anomalous Indy 500 make up the anti-clockwise championship. This year could see us return to the days of the 1960s and early 1970s for this championship, although I hope not.

If nothing else I believe that championship will be decided in glorious one-off at Abu Dhabi.

Oh my, I really hope not. A one-off Imola race, though, would be cool.

Re: Anti-clockwise tracks championship

I'm finally catching up with this championship while on a week of annual leave from work. I thought I had last updated this upon graduation of my third undergrad degree, but it appears I last did so just before starting my current job.

Azerbaijan Grand Prix
Turkish Grand Prix
