Birmingham Post wrote:Christopherson close to F3000 debut with Eddie Jordan Racing?
Rumours in motorsport valley are rife with expectation that local lad Jack Christopherson, who has shown an impressive turn of speed in British Formula 3 of late, is about to step up to the category immediately below Formula 1 - F3000 - with series newcomers Eddie Jordan Racing.
The 20 year old fresh-faced Brummie is looking to follow in the footsteps of Nigel Mansell to the peak of motor racing, and reputedly has excellent relations with team owner Eddie Jordan, from his time racing in Formula 3 last season.
Jordan's team is no stranger to unearthing British talents, having brought current F1 driver Martin Brundle to the sport's attention after a year-long title fight against Ayrton Senna in Formula 3, back in 1983.

All driver bids have been collated and locked in. Join me in chat if you want to know how shite goes down, otherwise I'll post up all results when they're done.

Re: Alt-F3000: The 1988 Season - Driver Market
Sorry for the delay, guys...been without internet for a couple of days.
I drew the contracted drivers first. Simple RNG draw, based on preference, team possessions and fees. I've also introduced the possibility of the driver competing elsewhere, the weighting of which is based on past results. I'll post the drivers in the order I drew them.

/// Pay-driver Draw ///
This one was more difficult; first off, I drew the total sum that a driver can bring per season. This was based on an RNG of past success; each driver was assigned a tier of 1-4, 1 being the most successful (consistent junior series championships) and 4 being the least (consistent backmarker in junior series championships). The ranges were:
Tier 1: £50k (1-70), £100k (71-80), £150k (81-90), £200k (91-95), £250k (96-100)
Tier 2: £50k (1-50), £100k (51-65), £150k (66-80), £200k (81-90), £250k (91-100)
Tier 3: £50k (1-30), £100k (31-50), £150k (51-70), £200k (71-85), £250k (86-100)
Tier 4: £50k (1-20), £100k (21-40), £150k (41-60), £200k (61-80), £250k (81-100)
Once each driver's budget had been taken, I then RNG'd the drivers in the same way as the contracted drivers. I will only disclose how much each signed driver brings; the unsigned drivers' budgets will remain a mystery until somebody signs them.
Joachim Winkelhock (24)
Onyx: 1-95
DTM: 96-100
Winkelhock will bring £50k to Onyx for the season.
Eliseo Salazar (67)
Oreca: 1-70
Endurance Racing: 71-100
Salazar will bring £22.7k per race to Oreca.
Perry McCarthy (10)
CoBRa: 1-90
Sportscars: 91-100
McCarthy will bring £22.7k per race to CoBRa.
Pierre-Henri Raphanel (74)
First: 1-50
Bromley: 51-100
Raphanel will bring £50k to Bromley for the season.
Michel Trolle (5)
GA: 1-90
Sportscars: 91-100
Trolle will bring £150k to GA for the season.
Enrico Bertaggia (32)
IBR: 1-95
British F3: 96-100
Bertaggia will bring £9.1k per race to IBR.
Jean-Denis Deletraz (65)
Spirit: 1-90
WTCC: 91-100
Deletraz will bring £22.7k per race to Spirit.
Eric van de Poele (87)
Madgwick: 1-90
DTM: 91-100
Van de Poele will bring £4.5k per race to Madgwick.
Giovanna Amati (42)
First: 1-95
Italian F3: 96-100
Amati will bring £150k to First for the season.
Nino Fama (85)
Forti: 1-95
Italian F3: 96-100
Fama will bring £200k to Forti for the season.
Ross Cheever (59)
Middlebridge: 1-90
Indy Lights: 91-100
Rickard Rydell (18)
Middlebridge: 1-90
British F3: 91-100
Andrea Chiesa (98)
Middlebridge: 1-90
Japanese F3000: 91-100
Mauro Martini (8)
Middlebridge: 1-95
Italian F3: 96-100
Koji Sato (89)
Middlebridge: 1-80
Japanese F3000: 81-100
Cheever would bring £9.1k per race to Middlebridge, Rydell would bring £18.2k per race, and Martini would bring £13.6k per race.
Pay drivers will currently accept any contract extensions from their current team before round 1. After that, you'll have to offer them extra races, and RNG will be the deciding factor again.
Lineups look...a-little something...a-like...a-this.

Can I see what Jeff Andretti and Thomas Danielsson might pony up for a single race drive?
I assume that Indy Lights is probably equivalent as F3000, as the series used a modified March 85B chassis.

Re: Alt-F3000: The 1988 Season - Driver Market
Ataxia, can my £250k from Delatraz be used immediately to buy engines, etc whenever I want? Or is it spread out in amounts over the season? Sorry I couldn't remember!

I completely mis-read your post at the start, I thought you'd signed Deletraz for the whole season rather than just for 4 races. So, Deletraz will give you £22.7k per race unless you choose to sign him for the whole season now. I'll be running the first race this evening, and so if people want to extend their pay-drivers' contracts for the whole year now then you've got a few hours to do so without RNG having to be used.
So if you elect to sign Deletraz now and ask him for the whole season's money upfront, then you can do so, yes. If not, then he'll give you £22.7k per race for the next four races, and then he's open to bids from others.
I *think* that makes sense...I wish I could be more concise.

Nope, that's completely fine. I'd also forgotten that I'd only put him down for 4 races!
Seeing as he's going to be as slow as hell, I'll keep him on the four race contract for now and take the money on a race by race basis. At the end of the four races, we'll see where we are and go from there. Thanks!

Okay, that's fine.
Just a note; race-by-race payments will be made after the race weekend.

Seems a good start, but hope Onyx can put both drivers at the top tier

Round 2 will happen at some point this week, not at Vallelunga but at Imola instead (since I can't seem to find it for GP2). Please take any required action.

Middlebridge are cursing their luck, 2 mechanical retirements for Donnoley. We will spend 26k repairing the March 88-B/3.
We would also like to offer Mauro Martini another chance to pay for a drive.

FIRST will reduce Amati's contract to 4 races, and after that, she will be replaced by 20 year old Nicholas Griffith. Will be payed on a race per race basis. At minimum wage and no additional clauses. If possible of course
