Manager of Carrera Granada suspended

Following a week after the recent sacking of Jimmy Hopkins from Carrera Granada, Carrera Granada have now understood that the manager of Carrera Granada have been suspended from his duties pending questioning.

Named as "David Jones Rodriguez" a Mexican-American, he was heavily mentioned by many in the paddock including the team of Carrera Granada during the week of Hopkins sacking that he was inexperienced with some demanding him to be sacked immediately. The allegations started after it was claimed by a Carrera Granada worker that his behaviour towards Hopkins and the way he dealt with the matter was "Unacceptable".

Alex Bautista, Founder of Carrera Granada who also founded Mediterranean Motorsport responded to the allegations and after getting in contact with CG (Carrera Granada) members and a shocking discovery in his CV stating that he was a very inexperienced manager, he has since suspended Rodriguez.

Jimmy Hopkins was sacked by Rodriguez after Hopkins was on a breach of contract. This occured when he unnoticeably signed on a part-time IPC ride in the US. Then Rodriguez's alleged behaviour and attitude towards Hopkins when sacking him sparked allegations and rumours starting from CG Members to members of the paddock.

Alex Bautista stated:
"Starting from an allegation that Rodriguez was inexperienced and has a bad attitude to a shocking discovery in his CV which showed he was so inexperienced and may not fit well for the role he was on, Rodriguez will be suspended from his duties in the team. He will be questioned about his experience and hopefully there would be a light shed on this situation."

Carrera Granada have announced that they have now got themselves an interim manager whose name shall not be mentioned just yet and the team also announced they will keep Oscar Duck III whilst Jimmy Hopkins is currently in contact with the team providing a statement on Hopkins's case.

Jimmy Hopkins to return to racing for Round 10. Oscar Duck III likely to race for last round of F5000

Carrera Granada have announced that Jimmy Hopkins will return to the F5000 with Carrera Granada as a one-off only deal at the Penultimate round at Surfers Paradise. However the team have also stated that they do not wish to retain Hopkins beyond 2018.

Hopkins was under fire with the team after his F5000 career was hit with contractual clauses with a part-time ride with IPC at his homeland in the US. It was then revealed that his relationship between him and former manager/Team Boss Rodriguez has been strained which resulted in a harsh sacking from the team and subsequently David Jones Rodriguez was suspended, not only because of the alleged insults being pulled at Hopkins but because of his previous inexperience.

Rodriguez has now since been put on temporary leave, after he agreed with the team to do a reinstatement program. No scheduled reinstatement for Rodriguez has been set.

Carrera Granada soon agreed that Jimmy Hopkins would be released in the wake of the incident/confusion and that they would be seeking at other opportunities for Hopkins (besides his 1 last chance of racing) in hopes of getting back on track as they have no wish to keep Hopkins after 2018.

Oscar Duck III, the driver covering for Hopkins is likely to return to the car for the last round of F5000 at Sydney.

AutoFiction wrote:EXCLUSIVE: F5000 to undergo managerial, promoter change

The ever-popular national Formula 5000 category is tipped to undergo some major changes in the coming months. After current promoters MotorMania Australia announced their intentions to start a new Supertouring category, words has been they have been looking for a sale for the current F5000 series to help fund the new series.

AutoFiction can now exclusively reveal that the category has been bought and will continue on complete with a new look. While much of the underlying structure will remain, the major changes expected is the move to a summer calendar to help with attracting top talent, and a renewed emphasis on Australasian teams and drivers. While the identity of the new promoters remains unknown, several sources believe it is an arm of one of the major players in the motorsport world.

Makes me wish I'd put him in the works team rather than as a privateer....oh well.

Speaking of the works team, Nissan Motorsports is going to make a change. Hayato Kazami has been relieved of his duties effective immediately. Hagane Shizuka will take his place in Hamilton, while Kyoko Katayama will race in the final two events at Surfers Paradise and Sydney Motorsport Park.

In a last ditch attempt to try and salvage a Top 5 in the teams' championship, Nissan Motorsports will bring Hagane Shizuka back into the #23 car for Sydney Motorsports Park.

91 points for Nissan in a single weekend! It's a shame Shizuka has more important things to do most of the time...
