Well, this is the Catheram Winter Series! A series designed by TripleR aka RealRacingRoots, and the races will be run, using GTR2, by me. The car used will be, as the name should say, the Catheram SP300R. The series will be run across 4 race tracks in the Middle East, with each weekend having two races (will be approached later in the rules). The series is, basically, an “arrive and drive” concept. That is, you come to the circuit, you pay the team to drive, practice a bit with the car, and then driver full on in the race. So, then, let’s start with the rules.

Teams and Drivers:
There will be 16 full time cars, so 8 full time teams. Each weekend, 4 wild-cards will be given, and a total of 20 cars will start each race.
Each team will have two cars: one will be run by a pro driver, while the other will be run by an amateur driver. The drivers will have to “pay” for their seats, which applies for the “arrive and drive” concept of this series.

For a driver to be classified as a pro drivers, he needs to be either considered a platinum or a gold driver (check http://www.fiawec.com/presentation/regulation.html on how you know this). If the drivers he’s to be qualified as an amateur driver, he needs either to follow those ranks, or to be under 18 years old, and have never won a championship, never raced in F1, F2 or IWC. And of course, rookies to canon will also be considered amateur drivers.
Drivers who are currently driving in F1 or F1RWRS, or who have won a race in GTR aren’t allowed. Each user can enter a maximum of 2 drivers.

For the wildcard entries, the driver is allowed to make two race weekends as a wildcard driver. The wildcard entries will be given to those who only want to partake in select events, regardless if they are legal for the Pro/Am classifications or not.

The teams will be allowed to choose they’re preferred colour (between black, blue, green, orange, purple, red, white and yellow) and they’re number, between 0-95, with the exception of 1, which can’t be chosen.

Calendar:
1st Round – Dubai Autrodome (16th-17th December 2017)
2nd Round – Yas Marina Circuit (30th-31st December 2017)
3rd Round – Bahrain International Circuit (20th-21st January 2018)
4th Round – Losail International Circuit (3rd-4th February 2018)
The Bahrain Losail weekend will both feature a daylight race and one night race.

Points System:
There are three championships to fight for: an overall one, an amateur one for the amateur drivers and a team’s championship.
The points system will be as following:
1st Place – 15 points
2nd Place – 12 points
3rd Place – 10 points
4th Place – 8 points
5th Place – 6 points
6th Place – 5 points
7th Place – 4 points
8th Place – 3 points
9th Place – 2 points
10th Place – 1 points

Race Weekend:
Each race weekend will feature a 20 minute long practice session, and 20 minute qualifying session and two races. Both races will have the same grid.

So currently there are 12 entries signed up. I would love to have the entries that Klon, Biscotti and Sally put up (the grid would be pretty much closed and we could start racing before June). So, if they really don't want to keep their entries, and are trully saying "bugger off", there are still 8 entries left!

Turns out Klon hadn't withdrawn his entry.... So 16 cars are in. Since I withdrew my full time entry to have 16 cars, I'll put myself as a wildcard for the first round. So, 3 wildcards left for the first round! (you can ask wildcards for the remaining rounds already).

And with this, Dubai startlist closed. You can ask for wildcars for the remaining races still.

Ok, time to try and explain this.

Basically, when TripleR and me we're dealing with the talent files, we found that there was not the same number of AM and Pro drivers entered as full time. There we're 7 full time Pro to 9 Am drivers, and only 8 colours available. So, we decided that the best wildcard driver (Peter Oliver) will be promoted to full-time Pro driver, and that another colour (grey) will be added for Sigurdsson. But there's still one driver missing, so...

Driver Name: Rafael Martins
Class (Pro or AM): Pro
Nationality: Portuguese
Number: 32
Color Prefered (three choises, by order of preference, and per driver): Grey
Name of Sponsor: Lotto

With this, 9-9 is achieved, just like initially thought.
