2018 SEAT Leon Supercopa - Final round up!

Post by Rated »

Yup, third season, and another name change after the "Lupo GTi Championship" and "AutoReject GTi". Hopefully, this one won't change until we drop the SEAT Leon, which shouldn't be happening soon.

2016 Champion : Laurent Couteau
2017 Champion : Pedro Renales - 2017 Teams Champion : Scuderia Vittore

Changes for 2018
The SEAT Leon, replacing the Volkswagen Lupo GTi used for the 2016 and 2017 seasons. It has a much more advanced damage model. The general performance of the car will drop a bit compared to the ROIDS 2017 Lupo, but the driving experience is about as good if not better.
10 penalty points during a season instead of 20 last year, will result in a race ban.
The championship Top 3 drivers must move on to another series. This is implemented to avoid another "Sugiharto case".
Highlights videos make their return.

Rules :
Each team can enter a maximum of two cars.
Each team can use a maximum of three drivers per car during the season.
Drivers MUST be fictional and older than 16.
22 cars max can take part in an event.
The championship Top 3 drivers must move on to another series.

Penaties and bans
- Ignoring blue flags : 2 points
- Unsafe retirement : 3 points
- Ignoring yellow flags : 3 points
- Causing an avoidable collision : 4 points
- Unsafely rejoining the track : 5 points
- Deliberate collision : Race ban
10 total penalty points : Race ban
Penalty points are reset at the end of the season. Race bans carry on to the next season.

Points scoring system
1st : 50 points
2nd : 45
3rd : 40
4th : 36
5th : 32
6th : 28
7th : 25
8th : 22
9th : 20
10th : 18

Alright, time to confirm my drivers:

Zaituna Dileita (SOM) is continuing with Globex Scorpio Juniors
Khungirat Molotov Khünbish (MGL) joins Globex Scorpio Juniors
Kika van den Heiligenberg (NED) joins Rob Lomas Racing

Obviously, if the team owners could confirm these deals, it would be neato.

Alvarez Competicion will run former GT Academy competitors Thibault Stadelmann and Constantin Florescu for 2018. Stadelmann is Swiss and Florescu is Romanian.

We'll retain #19 and #20 if possible.

Oh come on, you cannot seriously be considering holding Sugiharto back AGAIN! Go look at last season's ARST results; the two guys around him in the championship both did very good jobs; then go look at your own drivers in that series. What happened? Oh yeah, you lost the works Honda deal because you signed two people with so little talent that they'll be lucky to have careers as traffic wardens at the end of the season.

Go and get Sugiharto a proper seat. Find a top team in ARST and put him there. Don't waste him in a junior series. You did this with Kurniawan a few seasons ago; if you'd not been a complete moron and moved him up to F3 or something he might have had half a chance at a career. As it went, he stagnated and now you've got yet another driver that nobody will touch with a bargepole.

Word of advice; stop managing everything like a complete moron. If you want to do well at these championships, go and sign good drivers; find a driver and make an offer rather than sitting there as you usually do and take peoples' leftovers. As for your own drivers, don't let them sit in a low-tier series gathering dust. If they do a good job, promote them! That's how it works! You have to do a little bit of work if you want to be successful.

Now, go and look at the IPCC wiki page. Find Sugiharto a good seat. Otherwise, you're completely wasting the one good driver you've got.

Adolfo Moretti had half a chance of winning the ARST title in 2017 and was, in fairness, not really a title contender in 2016 in Lupos. Sugiharto alone would very likely have kept Alpha Auto from being relegated.

If you have room, can I perhaps have one of my rookie drivers do this series? Torolf Sigurdsson (NOR) has been trying to get into an entry level series for years (I tried and failed to get him into AR 2.0) and I would like to give him some seat time, regardless of what it is.

For any drivers competing in the SEAT Leon Supercup, Scorpio Racing has a potentially very lucrative offer for you. That is, to compete in the satellite IPC B-Class entry in up to two events this coming season! To be considered for this offer, please PM me your interest and any events which would conflict with competing in a B-Class race (you can find the calendar here).

While we're talking about calendars...
2018 SEAT Leon Supercup season Calendar
1. Round of the United Kingdom - Brands Hatch
2. Round of Wisconsin - Road America
3. Round of New York - Watkins Glen
4. Round of Canada - Road Gatineau
5. Round of Finland - Karjala Raceway
6. Round of Germany - Eurospeedway Lausitzring
7. Round of France - Circuit Charles de Gaulle
8. Round of the Czech Republic - Masaryk Brno Circuit
9. Round of Hungary - Hungaroring

All these rounds support the International Pro Car series. Technically, the Leon Supercup races will take place a few canon hours or even a day before the IPC B-Class races. So if one of your Supercup driver is scheduled to race twice on the same weekend, check with Salamander to see if it's possible or not.

EDIT : Link for the car's template if you want to create a livery for this season. I already have stated my desire to produce highlights videos again.

To avoid any problem with the colors, could you please post the hex code for the yellow, red and blue you want? That would help me a lot, thanks.

It shouldn't be hard, I should start working on livery requests next week.

EDIT : New parts of the template added to the first post of the thread, for the windows (interior and exterior). If you want the car's rims to be in a specific color, give me the hex code for it, and I'll put it ingame. Technically, if you wish so, you should be able to run two cars from the same team with different rims color. (ex : One car with blue rims and the other with yellow rims).

Yes, but only for this season and the Lucky Strike name will not appear on the car. I'll need to edit it just like BAR did (The Run Free livery) but the livery will be similar. At the end of 2018, the series will put a ban on tobacco sponsorship. As the Supercopa is a junior series where the youngest drivers are 16, tobacco sponsors should never have been allowed in the first place. Alcohol sponsorship will also be okay for this season before I make the final statement on this too, as it's unclear on if I'll keep on allowing it or not.

I think Tristan is unlikely going to be back before the deadline to confirm his entry. So SeedStriker, I guess you can start to prepare your entry just in case Tristan does not come back. There will be two cars available, you can choose to run one, two or refuse to enter the series for now. If you decide to not enter for now, you will not lose your spot on the waiting list.

Since the 2018 IPC season is starting, I would like to have everything ready soon. The deadline to confirm your drivers and numbers is August 9th at Midnight GMT. If you already confirmed that, there is no need to confirm all this stuff again. Liveries are optional.

Stuff currently missing :
Pasta's entry : Both drivers and numbers.
Tristan's entry : Entry confirmation, driver(s) and number(s)

I'll give Pasta a few more days to confirm all the stuff that is missing for Scuderia Vittore's participation in this year's Supercopa season. Pasta_maldonado has until Saturday July 29th (midnight GMT time) to give all the informations I need. If I get no reply, on Sunday 30th, the spot will go to someone from the waiting list, depending on who is actually active.

I'm putting Nelson Odewa forward as a replacement should any team need one during the year. He's had some experience of AR3.5 over the winter, and made a substitute appearance in AR2.0 as well. He comes with lots of sponsorship from telecoms giant MTN.
