Alternate F1 - The Revolutionary Era - 1987 Season
Re: Alternate F1 - The Revolutionary Era - 1987 Season
Edited my interest list after Voeckler preferring to stay in F3 for now.
My friend's USB drive spoiled, spilled tea on her laptop and had a bird poo in her hand.
What did she do in her past life to deserve this?

Looking for a slow pay-driver? 35 year old Belgian André Mignolet is looking for a drive. Did the occasional F1 testing during the late seventies and early eighties, after being a podium contender in F2 in the late seventies, and got a few drives for the hopeless RAM team. Turned to Group B rallying for Renault and later Peugeot when he failed to get a permanent F1 seat. Won the Belgian rally title 3 times. Also finished the 1983 Dakar rally in a 2CV. Gained support of Belgian tobacco company Bastos and petrol company Fina, who are willing to give him one last shot in F1, as the Group B rally cars had been banned. Also got a second place in the 24 hours of Zolder last year in a BMW.

Kazuki Fushida, who competed in one single F1 race back in 1980, feels ready for another attempt at Formula 1 after some years in Japanese Formula 2 and Japanese Formula 3000. He also brings some sponsorship* and hopes to find a race seat at one of the smaller teams.
*Depending on Klon making him available to teams as a pay driver.

Re: Alternate F1 - The Revolutionary Era - 1987 Season
The calendar for the 1987 season can be found in the second posting. Since my assessment of Frederic-Maxime Voeckler as a pay driver was based on an misunderstanding of biscione's intentions, any team that has been assigned him as a pay driver may instead hire Kazuki Fushida as alternative option.

You may also want to note the fact that no team has put Alain Prost as their first preference for a driving seat currently...
Also somebody please sign Valentino Nicchi

Re: Alternate F1 - The Revolutionary Era - 1987 Season
Harvey Jones is available for hire, he's 34, going on 35 in 1987 so nearing the end of his career but would still have a bit of pace in him. Let me know if you're interested. He had a sabbatical in 1981, but returned in 1982 (or will do when Pasta ever gets around to cracking on with that segment of the canon!).
Also, Klon, I'd like to go on the waiting list for this please, which I believe puts me third in line.

Didn't know Matarazzo was capable of driving for two teams at the same time. And why is Minardi called Calinetic?

After the excellent performances that Larini has done in the Coloni, we will offer to extend his contract to go to the rest of the season. We would also increase his pay to 225k for the second 8 races if he takes it.

Really good to do it in Canada as well, I can see a lot of Americans waving the flag in the crowd so I'm glad I could win today for them. It was a really straightforward race in the end for me - first one this year that I haven't had some massive drama or something, apart from the first corner. I dunno what to say about that, I dunno what Ayrton was thinking. Where I came from, you don't try to win the race in the first corner off the start. I started well, got alongside, and he just kept coming across - I dunno if he was trying to force me to back off or just didn't see me. Either way, it's a shame since we probably could've scored a 1-2 if it wasn't for that. Hopefully, it won't happen again.
I tell you though, it is so great to have that damn monkey off my back... now I'm finally a Grand Prix winner, and with Detroit next up, I'm feeling pretty up for winning two in a row.

I'm not surprised about anything.

Re: Alternate F1 - The Revolutionary Era - 1987 Season
So this season is quickly turning into a disaster for Ferrari. It would be nice if the turbos would occasionally refrain from pyrotechnic displays...
It's good that JEV is now consistently finishing on the podium, but he needs a win or two more pretty soon to stay right in the mix for the title.
