Just dropping in to detail the process to get GP2 liveries game-ready. It's a simple enough process, you've just got to get the colour palettes right.

1) Download IrfanView (but for the love of god, DON'T download from CNET) and GP2Edit. You can get GP2Edit here.

2) Open your livery file in IrfanView, and then go to Image > Palette. Open this palette.

3) You might see the livery change. Applying the palette makes sure it's in the 256 colours that GP2 uses. Pro tip: avoid purple, and only use the oranges in the palette given.

4) Open GP2Edit. Click Car Bitmap > Open... > and then select your file.

5) Open the GP2Edit 3D Car Viewer (from either Window > 3d Car Viewer or by simply clicking the small green car icon, sixth from left on the icon bar). Check it out and make your changes.

Katayama sisters to race in SANDWICH?
Two of the Katayama sisters may race in SANDWICH next year, the young Japanese starlet Kyoko Katayama has signed a deal with Mitsuri Motor Engineering in which she will be equal number one driver to John Bovy. After a lack luster F2RWRS season, Yuka Katayama wants a fresh challenge and has offered her services to Takagi Racing Enterprises who had offered her sister a race seat, she said "I had a bad year in F2RWRS, the car never seemed to understeer and oversteer, sometimes in the same corner! Racing in Japan over the winter I think will give me the boost I need.". Rumours are abound that Shinobu Katayama might be looking for a seat too.

Restart of a MORIbund career

Barii Mori has signed for Super Hanamura for the winter championship, it was a low key affair with most news outlets getting a one line email about the signing. Mori is probably the most high profile driver to be signed in the series and despite not winning in F1RWRS, he managed to grab a number of podiums and his experience has helped teams grab points. It is rumoured that the Super Hanamura car looks like one of the better cars in the series and Mori should be able to grab wins and maybe the championship. Although we could not reach Bariii Mori, a source close to Mori said that "He is excited that he was approached by a team to lead them, but he is not interested in making up the numbers, if the car doesn't look like it is going to win, he will walk away."

Here is the Blokkmonsta Livery

Do you know where I can find the livery for the helmets? I can throw them together pretty quickly too.

Because we have far too many red and white cars, I decided to have a crack at the Super Dragon FEAR livery. This was the result:

Noticed a small problem; Pretty Cure has attached #15 and #16 to their cars, whereas Blokkmonsta had already declared their preference for them beforehand. Also, I put my numbers wrong on my own livery (22 & 23, designing the car to look kinda like Nismo colours made me think of Nismo numbers!), so that's been corrected now.

The wiki edit I made to secure 15 and 16 was made four days before Blokkmonsta's post. However, since I don't particularly care, if someone edits my livery for me, I am down with taking new numbers

MOTEGI OVAL GETS UPGRADE

Motegi track authorities have announced that they've installed the all-new SUPERSAFER barriers at the oval track in order to prevent injuries if there's an accident like last season. The SANDWICH organisers are also considering making mandatory an upgraded version of HANS for all the drivers at said event, so reduce further risks.

Why not make it simple and have Homura reset the timeline if a driver gets injured at Motegi? That's surely cheaper and about as realistic a method of preventing injuries.

A really small thing, "Revo Trueba-Honda" would be preferable to "Revolution T-Honda".

As for the opening weekend....so much potential unrealised. Clearly the car and young driver in Dan Greenlaw has title potential judging from his Race 1 performance, but bad luck for Shizuka followed by inexplicably falling backwards in Race 2 shows there is still much to do. Keep fighting guys.

Aimee Gauthier wrote:Obviously a little disappointing to have the car fail so soon in the first race, but there is little to be done about that. Thankfully we were able to re-focus ourselves on race 2 and take pole and the win there, although it did require a little extra help with Shizuka's car, I'm not sure what happened to him, but obviously it was bad enough that he had to pit. After that, I was able to keep McKane safely behind me, and Naoki had a great drive too to secure the 1-3 for us. So, yes, it was a fantastic race for us after a poor start, hopefully we can continue this success going forward.

I clicked in the 2nd Sugo race and won, the podium had the three drivers that are likely to win the championship although McKane being the prima donna he is did not say a word to me on the podium. Also with all resepect to Takanori, he is out of his depth and if the team want to make a serious challenge to the teams championship they need to get someone with more talent, with Shinobu Katayama looking for a drive it is a bit of a no brainer. It's a conspiracy. His car has broken down four times out of four (he only got 10pts in the opening weekend because he was able to toil around slowly to the pitlane to fix broken electrics). He was leading when that happened. He has lost at least 100 points to poor reliability, possibly more.

As I said before, the qualify was key, and what a first race! The car was perfect, and that allowed me to battle the faster cars. Shame that another botched pitstop prevent us to battle for a top 5, but I'm satisfied. On the other side, a faulty throttle on qualify means a lousy 24th start, and an early spin put me at the very end of que pack. That I ended on 14th shows that the car is solid, and we have the pace to be even higher.
