2016 Caixa Brazilian Grand Prix I - Race

2016 Caixa Brazilian Grand Prix I - Race

Penalty Points after the race:
#5 - Lewis Hamilton - 4
#11 - Nico Rosberg - 3
#12 - Robin Frijns - 5
#22 - Stoffel Vandoorne - 5
#27 - Sebastién Bourdais - 3 (+3 for causing an avoidable accident involving the driver of car #19 (Daniil Kwjat))
#63 - Valtteri Bottas - 5
#90 - Evgeny Restov - 5 (+5 for causing an avoidable accident involving the driver of car #15 (Jérôme d'Ambrosio))
#91 - Giorgio Pantano - 5

-- Positives --
Valtteri Bottas - used his chance and earned his first career win as well as INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

Sebastién Bourdais - once more he made the most of the race and gets another podium.

Bruno Senna - maybe this could earn him a permanent drive, he had a more than solid drive.

Haas-Ferrari - double points finish is nice, indeed.

Dave Cassidy - should have won this race, but Peugeot stabbed him in the back.

-- Negatives --
Jules Bianchi - had Bottas beaten before his brain ceased to work properly.

Nico Rosberg - looked good for points before spinning and giving Bianchi a chance to be stupid.

Luca Filippi - some would say that not seeing a spun car out of a blind turn is not bad, I say bollocks to that.

Alexandre Voeckler - another avoidable mistake, Sauber are not proud.

Lewis Hamilton - making a race-ending mistake is a silly thing to do as a top driver; doing it on the first lap gets you REJECT OF THE RACE.

#63 - Valtteri Bottas - 5
#90 - Evgeny Restov - 5
#91 - Giorgio Pantano - 5

-- Positives --
Lewis Hamilton - smart smooth strategy shows satisfying settlement; supreme speed secures Sunday superiority.

Precision-Mercedes - are they the Williams killers?

Daniil Kwjat - he did his job and took over after Vettel retired, with today's low standards that earns him INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

Sauber-Judd - double points finish is still nice, even if the name changes.

Sebastién Bourdais - must be sad about his gearbox ruining his precious point streak.

-- Negatives --
Dave Cassidy - awfully awful at attempting attacks against antangoists; arguably assasinated annual-award ambitions antecedently.

Mansell-Ferrari - why did they fail so badly at the second round of stops?

Luca Filippi - he imitated a silly mistake a famous driver made a day ago, even with high standards that earns him REJECT OF THE RACE.

Romain Grosjean - had a totally miserable run, his retirement seemed like a mercy kill.

Bruno Senna - must be sad about his tyre exploding and not looking as good as yesterday.

De Plano to race for Calinetic at Monza?
Rumours are circulating around the pack that in the 2016 Italian Grand Prix, Salvatore de Plano is replacing Giorgio Pantano in the Calinetic.
The ex-Auto GP "star" has suposedly signed a "development driver" role with the team, which involves that he brings much needed money for the Jamaican team.
Calinetic's owner, Joshua Gibbs, has said the following regarding this in last weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix: "Salvatore is a great chap. Will he drive for us? Well, maybe, if he has the funds. And if he's granted a Super License by FIA, then I see why he wouldn't get the drive for his home grand prix."
The Italian Grand Prix will be run at Monza in the weekend of 27 and 28 of August.

Penalty Points after the race:
#1 - Daniel Ricciardo - 4 (+4 for dangerous driving against the driver of car #51 (Karun Chandhok))
#5 - Lewis Hamilton - 4
#8 - Pastor Maldonado - 3
#11 - Nico Rosberg - 3
#12 - Robin Frijns - 5
#14 - Romain Grosjean - 3

#63 - Valtteri Bottas - 10
#90 - Evgeny Restov - 5
#91 - Giorgio Pantano - 5

Nico Müller
will miss the next two races with an injury. Since Mahindra have a standard Friday driver, they will enter Jean-Éric Vergne unless they sign a different driver instead (the wage will be taken out of Müller's). You will have until November 18, 5:30 p.m. CET to arrange a deal if you'd like to.

-- Positives --
Dave Cassidy - finally gets something to go his way and takes a convincing victory.

Sebastién Bourdais - came close to stealing another podium, at least he gets the "thropy" for the INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

Bruno Senna - whatever he fails to do in qualifying, he makes up for in the actual race.

André Lotterer - another 10th place, this time by means of superior defense.

Giorgio Pantano - ran quite well until being taken out by the Haas F1 Team.

-- Negatives --
Sauber-Judd - were running decently, but lost their plot during the second round of stops.

Jules Bianchi - could have urinated on Hamilton's Special K, but instead only gets REJECT OF THE RACE.

DGN-Judd - both drivers lose control of their car at various points in the race, that's not the sign of a great car.

Evgeny Restov - even before retiring shortly before the end of the race, he was not setting the planet on fire.

Luca Filippi - retiring like he did is reasonably avoidable by careful driving.

Statement from Calinetic:
We are to inform that we'll be protesting the results of the 2016 Kawasaki United States Grand Prix I results. The reason beeing that after what happened in lap 1, with Nico Rosberg taking out Evgeny Restov, we ask to the FIA to investigate further into the crash, to see if they come to the same conclusion that us, that Nico did it deliberetelly. If they do, we demand that Nico get's stripped of his 14th place and that he get's at least a two race ban.

Sincerelly,
Calinetic Management

-- Positives --
Williams-Peugeot - dominated this event and made the most of their superiority.

Daniil Kwjat - after Vettel retired, he was able to acquire a podium finish.

Peugeot - even with the new parts, Peugeot were not expecting this type of success: INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

Alexandre Voeckler - got a healthy sixth place for the team.

Sebastian Vettel - should have gotten third, he was the only lad able to mount an attack against Williams.

-- Negatives --
Fernando Alonso - could have done a lot for Red Bull, but failed to get it done.

Pastor Maldonado - silly mistake meant he was not the hero Sauber needed.

Calinetic-Mercedes - ludicrously childish behaviour makes fans dislike them: REJECT OF THE RACE.

Sebastién Bourdais - uninspired retirement is in contrast to great driving so far in 2016.

Robert Kubica - that was bad even for a number two driver.

I'm still a long way behind Lewis in the championship, but with the start to the season that I had, and Lewis being already a two-time World Champ, that's to be expected. Still, I'm not out of this fight yet, there's a lot of races left and anything can happen. And if I can build on these wins, I can still take the fight to Lewis.
